LOCAL TEACHER RECEIVES AWARD Lindsey Bisbee, art teacher at Pioneer School of the Arts, was named the 2014 Idaho Elementary Art Teacher of the Year by the Idaho Arts Educators Association. Pioneer and the West Ada School District are fortunate to have this remarkable educator serving their students. Bisbee joined the staff of Pioneer School of the Arts in 2008. Over her seven years at the school, Bisbee has been a champion of arts education and an integral part of the unique arts-integrated program the school offers. Bisbee utilizes her considerable expertise and creativity to support the development of more than 700 young artists from kindergarten to fifth grade. wide projects and supports her colleagues’ efforts to incorporate the arts throughout the curriculum. Bisbee’s hard work is recognized by students, parents and staff.

IDAHOAN DESIGNS SUIT FOR SKYDIVING FEAT Ryan Lee, senior design engineer for ILC Dover, the same company that designs the spacesuits for NASA, recently designed the suit that Google Senior Vice President Alan Eustace wore to protect himself from the elements during the record-breaking feat of skydiving from the stratosphere. Eustace set new world records for skydive altitude, fall distance and vertical speed. Lee is from Boise and a graduate of Centennial High School. He has degrees in mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering. Lee recently visited the Discovery Center of Idaho to speak about his experiences as part of the Paragon StratEx Team. Lee lead the design of the suit, assisted Dr. Eustace in suiting up, was the navigator for the chase helicopter and was the first responder at the landing site. DCIdaho.org

LOCAL DESIGN TEAM WINS AWARDS The Cornerstone Design team attended the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Intermountain Chapter Annual Conference and Awards Gala. ASID is the largest professional interior design organization to represent the commercial and residential design industry. Cornerstone proudly took home two awards for commercial design projects. IDAHOAN NAMED ‘40 UNDER FORTY’ INDUSTRY LEADER Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) Marketing Manager Jamie Bowen has been chosen as a “40 Under Forty” produce industry leader for 2014 by Produce Business magazine. “I was very excited when I found out that I had won the award – it was awesome,” says Bowen. “I was born and raised in Idaho, and I have a passion for our state and the great things that we offer, like our world-famous potatoes. I’ve worked really hard alongside my excellent team here at the IPC, and I think we’re the strongest we’ve ever been.” The 32-year-old Boise, Idaho native, who earned a business marketing degree from Boise State University, originally beat out around 500 other applicants when she joined the IPC as a marketing assistant more than six years ago. Two years later Bowen was named IPC domestic marketing manager. She has worked tirelessly to help promote the entire Idaho® potato industry through marketing, advertising, attending trade shows and providing other promotional support.

LOCAL DENTISTS GIVES BACK Ustick Dental Office recently provided 70 patients in Boise with over 14,000 dollars in free dental care. Dentists, Vince Rigby and Greg Booth, led a group of eleven staff members and nine volunteers as they completed numerous cleanings, extractions and fillings. Rigby and Booth are grateful for their incredible volunteer team, the sponsors and the appreciative patients. This was Ustick Dental’s first experience hosting Dentistry
