A HISTORY OF CHANGING THE WORLD
LifeStraw was born as an effort to eradicate Guinea worm disease in partnership with The Carter Center. For 10 years, LifeStraw continued to work on Guinea worm eradication, tackled humanitarian crises and responded to waterborne disease outbreaks before becoming a retail company.

For every LifeStraw product purchased, a school child in need receives safe water for an entire school year. Our programs are long term and locally driven - we have 40 full time staff members in Kenya and we make a 5 year commitment with every water filter delivered.
WE’RE SERIOUS ABOUT PRODUCT TESTING
LifeStraw has its own ISO/IEC accredited laboratory with a team of scientists dedicated to continuous product testing. LifeStraw also validates all performance claims using accredited independent laboratory testing so all products go through both internal and external testing before reaching the market.
WE’RE CARBON NEUTRAL
We’ve always strived to create long lasting products that eliminate the need for single-use plastic bottled water. However, more recently we’ve gotten serious about our footprint – eliminating 5.6 tons of plastic from our supply chain in 2019 and offseting all of our annual CO2 emissions through Carbon Neutral.

The LifeStraw Mission is a high-volume, gravity powered system that purifies water to 0.02 microns, making contaminated water safe to drink by protecting against viruses, bacteria, parasites, and microplastics.
