Miss Milani loves fashion, her dogs, and getting pampered, so we delivered the best birthday party by dreaming up a gorgeous party in our stunning venue, Chante: which offers all of these things and so much more!

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

One of our favourties was our Chante photobooth, where the girls loved taking selfies and group shots. The most beautiful custom illustration of the birthday girl was a standout feature, along with our signature Dior tote bags filled with favours. We also loved the balloons, and the Chante Gelato cart for that sweet and creamy sugar rush. The girls really enjoyed the high tea platters, and our spa room where they enjoyed luxurious Chante pamper services.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

We wanted to create an event that was fresh and vibrant - something different to the typical pink and blues of a traditional baby shower. The colours we used are a take on the beautiful Dior blooms, which is another emerging event trend. We worked to highlight these with a fresh white to create a unisex theme, perfect to celebrate the special mum-to-be.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

This is a minimalist look which proves that less is more. The beautiful stationery and florals were the highlight, but we had each element building on these colours to seamlessly create the overall look. The gardens where this picnic was set was the most idyllic backdrop for the event.

WHAT TRENDS ARE YOU SEEING FOR CHRISTENINGS, BABY SHOWERS AND KIDS BIRTHDAYS?

For Christenings & Baby Showers, we are going to see a shift from bright colours to neutral, earthy, moody & muted colours. Think abstract, dynamic, mixing textures, curved finishes, abstract flooring, layering and imperfect handcrafted props.  For kids birthday, we are going to contiue seeing the rise of themed parties inspired from Disney and popular movies. Think themed flooring, backdrops, immersive interactions & photo moments.

WHAT COLOUR SCHEMES ARE GOING TO BE BIG FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2023?

I think we will see a lot of contrasting colour schemes, using dusty blue and dark muted pinks mixed throughout. Calming, refined and ethereal colour palettes will be increasingly popular.

DO YOU FORESEE ANY PROP OR BALLOON TRENDS FOR 2023 WHICH WILL BE HUGE?

For props, we’ll see an increase of unique and one of a kind pieces, as well as rattan inspired backdrops & plinths. For balloons, we’ll see an increase in dynamic shapes. Less balloon structure and more sculptural creations. Little balloons and neon strips will be a big hit!

WHAT WON’T WE SEE MUCH OF ANYMORE? Gold & Silver colour schemes, Gold luxe props, the use of sage green & eucalyptus greenery.

WHAT TREND IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOR 2023? Curved finishes and layering of florals, props and abstract flooring.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

Because my daughter’s birthday is close to Valentine’s Day and the colour combo of Red, Pink and Lilac are trending at the moment I thought it would be great to incorporate all that into a theme.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

I don’t think I have one specific feature as such, I just loved how it all tied in so nicely together, it had such an elegant/clean look but still had that fun/bright element to it.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

I really wanted to create a display that would give the children a paint party experience, which was a colourful and fun atmosphere to suit a 5 year old.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

Our backdrop was mainly balloons, set up as crayons with a paint board floor decal. We had a giant cake smash matching the theme filled with lots of colourful goodies - and our cookies were paintable and edible! We also had adorable flower shaped softplay.

Be organized so that you can find the best suppliers who are a good fit for your event. Always ensure there is something to keep the children entertained: this can be games, colouring activities, entertainers and soft play equipment. WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

The inspiration behind this photoshoot was bright spring and summer florals and keeping it all about bright colours. We’re loving the bright, bold colours trending for this year so we came up with a beautiful colour palette. This led to a beautiful custom bright illustration, florals and stationery for the tableware, setting and styling.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

To start, our focus was on the floral illustration stationery design and tableware. We also had a stunning gravity defying cake and a range of dessert options to match the theme perfectly. Another unique feature was the solid colour balloon garlands. This kept the focus on the cake, keeping it simple but also bringing the “WOW” factor! We love the peach jumping castle with peachy balloons. Last, but not least: we had the kids take home not one, but three different lolly bags, all in different shapes and forms. The personalised lolly boxes, milk cartons, and bonbons were filled with treats and gifts for the kids to enjoy at home. Our Garden Fairy kept the kids busy with music and dance - and even enjoyed a few jumps on the peachy jumping castle!

Plan ahead to ensure there is enough time to organise the big day. It’s always a good idea to have a stylist and coordinator on board to make it a smoother ride. Ensure the kids entertainment is a priority. With many options to cater for all ages, a jumping castle, soft play area or entertainer is a must. After all the hard work you’ve put into creating and styling the event, hire a professional photographer to capture the day and special moments. Get creative and never be afraid to share your ideas with your stylist, even if they sound crazy. Working together as a team is what brings the best out of all creatives involved.

Pirate PERFECTION

BY CARLY FROM SASSY SNAPS PERTH

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

Inspired by pirates, treasure, islands and what’s under the sea. We wanted to create a pirate theme without all the dark red and black, and do something a little lighter and brighter. Incorporating more blues into the mix and focusing on a mix of sea creatures and nautical features with just small touches of the pirate theme in, we were able to create something I felt was pretty unique.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

It’s hard to look past that incredible balloon octopus feature isn’t it? Not originally part of the design but was something we wanted to incorporate with the playfulness and ‘wow’ impact – and also bringing the bouncy castle into the main setup as well. Pairing up on the opposite side was the anchor balloon sculpture which was stunning and brought out the drinks station with all its nautical features and boat shelves full of water.

Another absolute favourite of mine would have to be the boat table we used for the kids setting. Complete with the most stunning pirate plates from Bam Party & Events and with our own little pirate treasure chest lunch boxes. Definitely a unique feature! With the cake, desserts, the wavy backdrop panels, the treasure map floor sticker, pirate and pirate creatures, the soft play island we created, the skeleton hoarding his treasure chest full of Sweet Health cookie mixes… I couldn’t look away from any of it!

Photographer! If you can do it yourself or afford a stylist to create a beautifully styled event, ensure your first priority is a photographer. All that hard work that has gone into the setup should be captured and remembered. It’s also great to not have to worry about running around grabbing snaps of the kids and your friends through the event either if you have someone else doing that job for you.
