Family Fun event in aid of Huntington’s Disease & Association
On Saturday 2nd July a family fun day and evening charity event will be held at Ibstock Central Bar in aid of Huntington’s Disease Association. The event has been organised by a local family who received the devastating news in January that 24 year old Brandon Lees has the Huntington’s Disease gene. Brandon’s father Shaun passed away in January 2018 as a result of the condition. Brandon, along with his mum Bernadette hope the two events will raise much needed funds for the charity and help it to continue supporting both those affected and their families. Huntington’s Disease is an inherited condition that stops parts of the brain working properly over time. It affects your body’s nervous system – the network of nerve tissues in the brain and spinal cord that co-ordinate your body’s activities. Living with Huntington’s disease can be very challenging and Huntington’s Disease Association provide advice and emotional care as well as co-ordinating support with medical and healthcare professionals. With an afternoon of fun for all the family as well as a charity auction and disco in the evening for the grown ups there are lots of reasons to head down on 2nd July and show your support. Entry is free although donations buckets will be available at the door.
