We love to hear what local schools have been up to and this month we have an update from Newton Burgoland Primary School in Coalville. “Newton Burgoland Primary School pupils love to be creative. In the deconstructed block area, the architects of the future can be found building dens, rockets and wonderful landscapes. In the small block area, the current fascination is with the landscape of London - Big Ben, the London Eye and Tower Bridge are regular features. Cereal boxes and tubes are upcycled in the making area, with the addition of pipe cleaners, straws and pom poms, the only limit is imagination.

Friday afternoons are special - we head to the woods ProudlyMadeinCoalville taking our bug collectors, mud kitchen equipment, tools, tarpaulins and hot chocolate. A great way to end our week. The pupils also enjoy woodwork on a regular basis as part of continuous provision in foundation, year 1 and 2. We would welcome any donations of wood – sorry not MDF or pallets – as we are busy crafting most days.
