Prescription requests

As a practice we are only able to accept prescription requests in writing, this can be on paper, by email to castlemedicalgroup.noreply@ nhs.net, through Online Consultations, SystmOne Online or the NHS App. Where possible we would encourage you to use the NHS App, please download this onto your phone and register. Please note that the team are NOT able to take your request for medication over the phone. Once we receive the prescription request, we aim to process your request within 2 working days. If we have a nominated pharmacy for you, we will send this to the pharmacy electronically and this means that you don’t need to collect it from us. Once the pharmacy receives your prescription electronically, they will need time to dispense the medication for you. Ideally allow them a couple of days to process this. If we note that you need to have a medication review the team will be in touch to let you know that you need to make an appointment. If you are on regular monthly medication and are stable, we can issue what we call batch prescription, this will give you a batch of say 6 prescriptions which you can collect on a monthly basis from the pharmacy, removing the need to order from us monthly. If this is something that you feel would be of interest to you, please make a note on your next request and we will review this for you.
