I want to highlight the HEAR TODAY exhibition, which took place in September at Orpington Methodist Church (reported in The Mayor’s Voice – Nov 2021), as it wasn’t just commercial companies offering products for hard of hearing people. The exhibition also included vital local charities/groups such as deafPLUS, BRIGHT DeafBlind and Bromly Chain, which has recently been awarded a bursary for the two-year training of a teacher of the deaf at Darrick Wood School, Orpington. Deaf voices are not always heard and Steve Cotterell’s innovative event embraced the wide range of deafness and all methods of communication, including British Sign Language. Bromley Chain’s mission is supporting, sponsoring, campaigning, informing and raising deaf awareness in the borough of Bromley.

I saw your magazine online and I really like it!. The colours, the distribution of the content and the way you organised it in general, are really good - catching.

Emma P
Fines for playing loud music in the evening when it’s not the weekend

That I can use my own lateral flow test when I get back from holiday and not a ‘government approved’ one – they’re all the same!!!
Next month’s question…
Who would make the ideal celebrity neighbour – and why?

New Year
There’s one day in our calendar when we all look ahead. Plus think of all the days behind and adventures that we led. For some of us the time to come, fills us full of glee, with happy times with loved ones in a place we love to be. We’re surrounded by our family and friends who make us strong, As when we unify our strengths, we really can’t go wrong. For others though the year’s been hard and tougher still to come. It’s hard to think about their woes, their heart feels like it‘s done. So as we travel through the year, We must all try to be kind And look out for each other, new friendships we might find. Life throws hurt upon us, challenges to weather. But nothing ever seems so hard, if we all stick together.
