Unbreakable Hero

BT revealed the inspirational stories uncovered in its search to find the UK’s everyday ‘Unbreakable’ heroes. The entries follow a call to action to the public to nominate those individuals who used the power of the internet to make a difference during a unique and challenging year. Sophie Ellis-Bextor teamed up with BT to help find unsung heroes of lockdown. One of the national winners was Steve Cotterell of the Croft Poetry Club in Orpington, nominated by Jerry Dowlen. Steve ran online meetings during the lockdowns and gave members, who were inexperienced users of the internet, valuable tuition and confidence to expand their capability at an essential time. Well done Steve – and thoroughly deserved!

The High Street is going to get busier as new developments come to fruition. Some will hate the new developments and some will love it when it’s finished. However, how can we escape whilst it’s all happening? All Saints Church in Bark Hart Road has come up with an OASIS of calm. You’re invited to pop in for a socially distanced cup of tea or coffee on Wednesdays from 10.45am- 11.45am to enjoy our lovely old church and its green surroundings. All profits from drink sales go towards our Disaster Fund meaning that we can react immediately to any world or local disaster with a wellneeded donation.
