THOUGHT
Easter is the ultimate declaration that God is worthy of glory. The empty tomb is not only a symbol of hope, but it is also the proof of Christ’s victory over sin and death. When the stone was rolled away, it revealed more than an empty grave. It revealed a risen King whose power cannot be contained and whose promises never fail.
Jesus had spoken about His resurrection before it happened. When the angel announced, “He is risen,” it confirmed that every word He spoke was true. The resurrection validates His identity, His authority and His mission. It shows us that darkness does not have the final word. Death is not the end of the story. Because He lives, hope lives.
The glory of God is displayed in the resurrection. What seemed like defeat on the cross became the greatest triumph in history. Sin was conquered. Shame was broken. The grave was overcome. Easter reminds us that our faith is not built on a memory but on a living Saviour. Jesus is alive, and that changes everything.
As we reflect on Easter, we are invited to respond with worship. The risen Christ is worthy of all honour, praise and glory. Our lives become testimonies of His power when we walk in the new life He secured for us. The empty tomb calls us to live with confidence, courage and unwavering hope, knowing that the One who rose from the dead reigns forever.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the victory of the resurrection. Thank You that the grave could not hold You and that Your promises are always true. Fill my heart with hope and confidence in Your power. Help me to live in the light of the empty tomb and to give You all the glory You deserve. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THOUGHT
I have always loved how Easter is a reminder of how unworthy we are to be in a relationship with God and simultaneously how incredibly, unconditionally loved we are.
Each year, I am reminded that the cross wasn’t necessary because I was worthy of it, but because I was loved enough for it. Jesus Christ went knowing every flaw, every doubt, every time I would fall short, and He did it anyway.
That’s what always gets me about Easter. When I really sit with what Good Friday represents, I feel the weight of my sin. I’m reminded that I could never earn my way into a relationship with God. I don’t deserve it. I never will. But then Sunday comes.
The empty tomb reminds me that love had the last say. The resurrection of Jesus Christ tells me that grace is stronger than my failures. It tells me that my relationship with God isn’t built on how well I perform spiritually or how “good” I’ve been this year. It’s built on what He has already done.
Every Easter, I feel both the weight of my unworthiness and the overwhelming comfort of being loved so much.
And each year, I find myself grateful all over again.
PRAYER
Lord, we cannot begin to understand what love it took to take up that cross. We are so grateful for our salvation and being in right standing with You. Thank You for Your Son. We give You the highest praise. In Jesus’ name, Amen

THOUGHT
Easter is a beautiful reminder that hope is alive. It is the celebration of mercy, sacrifice and resurrection power. The cross was not the end of the story. The empty tomb declared victory, freedom and new life for all who believe. One of my favourite worship songs at the moment goes like this: “Hallelujah, hallelujah, I know it was the blood. Could have only been the blood that set me free”.
Those words carry the heart of Easter. It was not good works, not striving, not human effort. It was the blood of Jesus. It was His sacrifice. It was His love poured out on the cross that made a way for us. Easter reminds us that we were never meant to carry the weight of sin on our own. Jesus took it. He endured the cross, bore our shame and rose again so that we could walk in freedom. The resurrection is proof that darkness does not win, that death is defeated, and that grace has the final word.
When we reflect on Easter, our worship deepens. Gratitude rises. We remember that our freedom was purchased at a great cost. And because He lives, we live with hope, purpose and renewed expectation. Hallelujah, it was the blood that set us free.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for the cross and for the power of Your resurrection. Thank You that it was Your blood that paid the price for my freedom. Fill my heart with fresh awe and gratitude this Easter. Help me never to grow familiar with the sacrifice You made. Let my life be a response of worship to the love You have shown me. This Easter, we declare victory! Just like a fight song lifts our spirits and rallies us to stand strong, we proclaim the power of Christ’s Resurrection over every fear, trial, and doubt. Today, we step onto the battlefield of life, empowered by the Spirit. The Resurrection fills us with boldness to live fully for God. We are Spirit-filled and unstoppable! Because Jesus is Alive, we are alive! Our hearts beat with hope, our souls sing with joy, and every day is a new chance to reflect His life. We are alive in Christ, and nothing can hold us down!
Our sin is defeated, and we are made holy in Him. Stand tall and celebrate the cleansing power of the Cross. We are saved, we are sanctified, and we belong to Jesus! No trial, no challenge, no obstacle can defeat us. Christ’s triumph is our triumph. We are more than conquerors through Him who loves us! Every struggle is temporary; every tear is momentary. Because Jesus lives, eternal victory is ours! Our victory is eternal, and death has no power over us!
Lift your voice, clap your hands, and celebrate the Resurrection! Easter is our fight song of praise.

I was listening to a radio show on my way home when the presenter posed the following question: “If you observe that someone has been involved in an accident, would you exit your vehicle to assist, or would you instead record the incident to be the first to post it on social media?”
It is a contemporary reality that individuals tend to record moments that inherently require their physical assistance. The scripture encourages us to demonstrate mercy towards those in need. Within the context of Jude, this entails showing mercy to those whose faith is waning. The term ‘mercy’ in this context signifies compassion.
Compassion prompts us to be cognisant of others suffering and to take appropriate action. Jesus exemplified this compassion for us. He recognised the destructive consequences of sin; rather than remaining passive, He exhibited mercy by sacrificing His life for all.
May we likewise extend mercy to those whose faith is faltering and gently guide them towards Christ.
PRAYER
Thank you God, for loving us so much that you sent Your one and only Son, to come to this Earth, be mere mortal like me, and die a death He didn’t deserve, just so that I can be reconciled with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THOUGHT
“My Redeemer Lives.” It’s a song I loved singing as a youngster. I knew the words well, but only years later did I realise that I had no real understanding of what a Redeemer truly is. I knew what Jesus did; I knew He saved me. But my understanding was basic - He was simply the One who rescued me from sin. Over the years, that understanding deepened, and something began to shift in me. In the Garden of Eden, God mentions two trees. He only forbade Adam and Eve from eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Nothing is said about the other. After the fall, God removes them from the garden. Not as punishment, but as grace.
We are created in God’s image, designed for communion with Him. He walked with them daily. If they had eaten from the Tree of Life in their fallen state, humanity would have remained broken forever. So, God, in mercy, barred the way - not to keep us from life, but to keep us from eternal brokenness. Eternity with God, in our original created state, was always the plan. And then it finally dawned on me: Jesus Christ is not only our High Priest who atoned for sin and restored communion with God - He is our Tree of Life. Through Him, and by the Holy Spirit, we are not merely forgiven. We are restored. Redeemed means more than being saved from something; it means being restored to something. When that sank in, my Redeemer didn’t just live - He became the very reason eternal life is possible again. And that is why God is worthy of all glory. Because He didn’t abandon His original design. He redeemed it.
PRAYER
Father, we give You glory for redeeming us completely. Thank You for restoring us to life with You through Jesus, our Redeemer. Teach us to live from this place of renewal, and may our lives reflect Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THOUGHT
We confess that salvation is entirely the work of God, from beginning to end. We did not seek Him first - He sought us. We did not redeem ourselves - Christ redeemed us. Our Redeemer is not merely a helper in our weakness, but the victorious Saviour who fully accomplished our salvation on the cross.
Jesus is worthy of all glory because He did what we never could. Bound by sin and unable to rescue ourselves, we were lovingly pursued by a Saviour who obeyed perfectly, suffered willingly, and rose triumphantly. His blood did not make salvation possible; it secured it. Every believer stands forgiven and justified because Christ’s work is complete and sufficient.
This truth humbles us and lifts our eyes. We no longer strive to earn God’s favour but live in grateful obedience because we already have it in Christ. Our worship, our service, and our daily repentance flow from hearts amazed by redeeming grace. To Him alone belongs the glory, not only for saving us, but for keeping us, shaping us, and bringing us safely home.
PRAYER
Gracious Redeemer, we praise You for the precious blood of Christ that fully paid our debt and brought us into Your family. Keep our hearts anchored in Your grace and our lives shaped by gratitude. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.
THOUGHT
The language of this scripture is direct, which I love; we have been rescued and a ransom paid. Serious and urgent with danger that we can't fully comprehend, as we haven't paid the price and suffered the consequences of our own sin, because God's Son, Jesus, did. He is the One, the only One who would have ever been worthy enough to pay the price, give what we can't, and do what we wouldn't to make a way for us to come clean, to be able to stand in the presence of God without the weight of guilt and shame. Every ounce of freedom we feel, every part of our liberty, all of our value came at the ransom of Jesus Christ being willing to intervene on our behalf. Not only mine and yours, but all of us.
Through His act of obedience and love, those who acknowledge Him and accept Him as Saviour are redeemed and ridiculously so, share in His worthiness as He has shown us to be worth His sacrifice. Hard to fathom, the ultimate act of love, Jesus laying His life down for us. We ought to take a moment daily and think of just that, think of the fact that Christ's love is not for nothing, it came at the highest ransom, a debt you could never settle or escape, yet you have now been brought back to life. A freedom that liberates our hearts and souls not just in the now, but forever, beyond this earthly life, into eternity.
PRAYER
Thank You, Jesus, for this reminder. Please have Your way right now, overwhelm me, settle my mind, stop my struggle and release me from stress. I am no longer a slave or captive but free. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
THOUGHT
I enjoy listening to ministers from traditional churches minister the Word of God. A common prayer ministers would pray before sharing the Word is found in Psalm 19:14, which states: “May the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer” (NLT). This prompted me to reflect on Psalm 19, a beautiful Psalm written by King David that reflects the beauty of God’s creation, His works, and the power of His Word.
After King David acknowledges the works of the Lord and dependency on His Word, he concludes by saying: “How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin”(Psalm 19:12-13 NLT).
David understood that the Lord is the one who knows the sins lurking in our hearts, who can cleanse us from hidden faults and keep us from deliberate sin because He is the One who has redeemed us from sin. The word redeemer means: “to free from what distresses or harms”. Jesus Christ is the One who has redeemed us from the clutches, distresses and harms of sin.
Truly, He is our rock and our redeemer.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You that You are my rock and my redeemer. Cleanse me from hidden faults. Keep me from deliberate sin. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THOUGHT
The word 'Redeemer' carries weight because it speaks of a price being paid to restore what was lost, and in this verse, Jesus makes His mission clear by saying He came to serve and to give His life as a ransom, which means our freedom required a cost, and He willingly chose to pay it. In a world where people strive to prove their worth and build their own significance, Jesus shows us that true glory is revealed through sacrifice, not status.
He saw humanity bound by sin and separation and did not stand at a distance but stepped in personally and completely. Redemption is not just about forgiveness, it is restoration, it is being bought back into relationship, it is being given a new identity and a new future. Because He gave His life, our past no longer defines us, our shame no longer controls us, and our failures are not final.
When we understand that we have been redeemed, worship stops being routine and becomes a response of gratitude and surrender. Jesus is not only our Saviour, He is our Redeemer, and He is worthy of all glory.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Redeemer and for paying the price I could never pay. Thank You for restoring what was broken and giving me a new identity through Your sacrifice. Help me to live each day in gratitude and obedience, remembering that I have been bought with a price. Let my life reflect Your goodness and bring You the glory You deserve. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

PROVERBS 21:15 (NLT)
Justice is a joy to the godly, but it terrifies evildoers.
THOUGHT
In 1963, Dr Martin Luther King Jr. was imprisoned in the Birmingham City Jail. Whilst in solitary confinement, he famously wrote the “Letter from Birmingham Jail”. In his letter, he wrote these famous words: “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”. Injustice anywhere is interlinked to the disturbance of justice everywhere. Yet the opposite is also true: that justice anywhere provides safety everywhere.
In the Passion translation, it states: “When justice is served, the lovers of God celebrate and rejoice, but the wicked begin to panic”. When justice is alive and active, it is a cause to celebrate because the presence of justice provides safety and protection. That is why the lovers of God celebrate and rejoice where justice is served because justice reflects who God is. When you are godly, justice is not a threat; it is a cause of celebration. May we be lovers of justice, because “the Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer Him sacrifices” (Proverbs 21:3 NLT).

No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
THOUGHT
There are multiple scriptures in the Bible that speak of how God is just. One of my favourites that really helped me comprehend the nature of God a little more was Deuteronomy 32:4. It says, “He is the Rock; His deeds are perfect. Everything He does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright He is!” This verse demonstrates how justice is part of God’s character. It’s not something He switches on and off. It is simply who He is.
I remember when I realised that justice was His nature, I pretty much got ‘scared’ because I had the thought of, ‘wow, I’m going to have to account for everything I’ve done on judgement day,’ and spiralled into thinking if I am worthy or if I am a ‘good’ person. But a bit later, I figured that understanding that justice is woven into God’s character reframes faith as more than just belief. It becomes imitation. The fear of the Lord reminds me that my faith is not passive, but rather it demands alignment. That is what the prophet Micah is outlining to God’s people in the main passage: If God is just at His core, then becoming more like Him means allowing justice to shape the way I live, respond, and act.
Jesus demonstrated this clearly throughout His ministry. He challenged the religious leaders of His time for reducing worship to empty routine and for appearing righteous outwardly while neglecting mercy and justice in their hearts (Mat 23:23-24). He exposed the disconnect between external performance and internal transformation. God’s desire is that His people walk humbly with Him, because intimacy with Him shapes us. As we pursue Him wholeheartedly, our hearts begin to reflect His own, growing in compassion and becoming eager to practice justice.
PRAYER
Oh Lord, thank You that You are a just God. I pray that You will show me areas of my life that require more alignment with Your will and nature. Open my eyes to the injustices I miss, and help me become more like You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

EXODUS 14:14 (NLT)
The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.
THOUGHT
Have you ever felt overlooked, or unseen? One of the things I’ve always struggled with is that I never felt seen. This feeling has come about in many areas and plains of my life – whether it’s my family, my friends, or even sometimes by God. Let’s be real, sometimes we feel like our prayers are hitting the roof, or that God is far off. Sometimes I would just sit and cry because I felt like no one saw the effort I’ve put in or the sacrifices I’ve made and I just felt invisible. It’s a vicious cycle, this cycle of feeling misunderstood, let down, or just feelings along those lines. However, one thing that has helped me get out of this cycle is remembering that God is a just God.
In the book of Exodus, you follow the story of Moses and the Israelites. God calls Moses through the burning bush and sends him back to Egypt to free the Israelites from slavery. Moses confronts Pharaoh, who repeatedly refuses to let them go, so God sends a series of plagues that escalate in intensity, showing His power over Egypt’s gods and systems. After the final plague, the death of the firstborn, Pharaoh finally relents, and the Israelites leave. But when Pharaoh changes his mind and pursues them, God parts the Red Sea, allowing His people to escape while the Egyptian army is destroyed (Exodus 3-14). I think this story is such a beautiful and intense display of God’s justice. God SAW the oppression of His people and God ACTED decisively against it. His justice isn’t passive, but rather it confronts evils, brings accountability, and ultimately delivers the oppressed while judging the oppressor. God is able to bring justice to your life and situations just as He did to the Israelites.
Today, I would like to challenge you to come before the Lord, humbly and with an open heart. Tell him about the injustices done to you, cry out to him, and let him fight your battles. You are not alone, and remember we serve El-Roi – the God who sees us

Heavenly Father, thank you that you are a God who cares for me. I thank you that I don’t have to fight my own battles, but that You are fighting for me. I bring before you all my hurts, pains, and injustices done against me and I pray that You fill my heart with peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THOUGHT
We serve a just God and perfect in all His ways, but have you ever noticed that sometimes we confuse being just with being fair and so often we feel confusion and disappointment when God doesn’t do things in our lives like He does for others and then we are left wondering if God is just. There are times when we use comparisons to determine fairness and so often it is based on our experiences which can be subjective, and so what seems unfair to me may seem perfectly ok and fair for someone else.
I think that we need to ask ourselves not if God is fair but ‘is He just?’ Does He do what He says He will do? Is God unwavering and leading with truth? Is He righteous in all His ways? It may not look and feel equal and does feel unfair sometimes but God never changes who He is and everything He does and allows is perfect and right because He is a just God.
This means I can look into His loving heart and know that God is just and loves me even if it feels that it’s not fair.
We might not always understand God’s motives or the way He does things or the meaning behind His actions in our lives, but we can trust His character because He is never wrong or unkind. God is a perfect Father.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for the example You are to us and the comfort we can take in knowing that You are a just and sovereign God and You are there for us. Help me to see things through the eyes of a just God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I said to myself, “In due season God will judge everyone, both good and bad, for all their deeds.”
THOUGHT
Have you ever looked at what is happening in the world and thought, “That is not right.” Of course you have. It is all around us. From patiently sitting in traffic and a taxi comes screaming down the yellow lane to push in front of the queue to murderers getting off. It is hard to see these things happening and not get upset.
The good news is that the feeling you get when injustice stares you in the face is the fingerprint of God in you. We were made in the image of God, and so when a wrong is done, it is because of God’s likeness in us that it bothers us. And that is a good thing.
But our responsibility as followers of Christ is not to push the taxi off the road or punish the lawbreaker. That does not mean that we should sit by and let evil take over while we hide in our gated communities. Our responsibility is to stand up for what is right, "Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed".
God says he will judge the good and the bad for their deeds, so let’s not worry about all the wrong in the world. God will deal with them. Your job is to show the world, Jesus. Bob Marley said, “Overcome the devils with a thing called love.”
PRAYER
Almighty God and Heavenly Father, in a world filled with evil, let Your Holy Spirit show us how to be the sons and daughters that make an eternal difference in the world. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

THOUGHT
When I first saw my daughter after her birth, I looked at her with such adoration. Witnessing the beauty of God’s creation and marvelling at this new life was one of the most special moments of my life. Did you know that worship is an intensified form of adoration?
The Greek word for worship means to fawn, crouch, or show reverence; to adore.
It is a profound, yet humble, form of worship and heightened admiration directed to the LORD.
In the passage above, Christ Jesus is engaged in a theological discussion on worship with a Samaritan woman. She argues about the importance of the place of worship, yet Jesus argues about the importance of the heart of worship. Whether we worship on the mountain, in the car, or in the privacy of our homes, the heart of worship should be around the true, authentic adoration of our Lord. The Father is on the lookout for worshippers (adorers) who worship Him in spirit and in truth.

THOUGHT
Many people think worship is merely what we do on a Sunday at church before the sermon. Something we add to spice up a service. Or it’s that playlist we put on to kickstart our day. We sing, we feel good, and it’s done. We often reduce worship to music. But I have a question: What happens to worship when it becomes a response instead of a performance?
I once went to a cabin on a mountain, okay, let’s call it a hill, filled with the expectation that God would show up. I spent hours alone in silence, read Scripture, journaled, listened to sermons. I waited. But nothing happened. It was a good trip, I was rested and felt restored, but I was a little disappointed. I wanted an encounter. When I got home, I wanted to turn on the TV, but instead I opened my Bible again. After another two hours in the Word, I put on worship music, and that’s when I realised something was different. I wasn’t singing. I was surrendering. I was in awe. There, on my living room floor, with no atmosphere and no audience, I truly worshipped the one true God. And that’s where He met me. It was one of the most profound moments of my life. From that moment on, I began to worship differently.
Worship is not music or atmosphere first; it’s recognition. Before there was singing, there was surrender. Worship is our response to who God is and to all that He has restored. All those hours in Scripture weren’t wasted. I was discovering who God is. When we truly see Him, worship becomes inevitable, not forced. When we worship in surrender and awe, we glorify God - because He alone is worthy of our devotion.
PRAYER
Father, open our eyes to see You for who You truly are. Teach us to worship not out of routine, but in response to Your glory. May our lives be lived in surrender and awe before You. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Worship music is beautiful, especially when the music itself is composed to perfection. The arrangement of music and vocal pieces together brings a sense of safety and comfort in expressing our devotion to the Lord. If worship was just music, we wouldn’t be challenged to present more than just casual participation. Paul, after explaining everything that Christ has done for us in the book of Romans, starts chapter 12 by laying out the essence of true worship. “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” Romans 12:1 NLT
The way to truly worship God isn’t limited to singing songs, though that’s beautiful and acceptable. The crux of our worship is the willingness to let our bodies be living and holy sacrifices. To sacrifice our bodies means the act of giving up or surrendering our bodies for the sake of devotion to God. This means making the right choices and foregoing what would be pleasurable yet detrimental. The next verse teaches us how to practically do this: “Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 NLT
What a beautiful picture, that God would help us worship Him by transforming us into new persons through our changed thoughts. Worship is a call to surrender to being made holy by the one who is most holy.

Lord Jesus, thank You for making me Your instrument of worship. Help me be mindful of this privilege of having the indwelling spirit of love and truth. Awaken my heart to worship You in spirit and in truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THOUGHT
Worship is more than a song we sing on Sunday. It is a posture of the heart. In a world that constantly pulls our attention in every direction, worship calls us back to what truly matters: the presence of God.
To worship is to bow low in reverence while lifting God high in our lives. It is an act of surrender that acknowledges He is Creator, and we are His creation. Worship shifts our focus from ourselves to Him, from our worries to His faithfulness, and from our weakness to His strength. True worship is not dependent on a melody or a moment. It flows from a heart that recognises who God is.
Whether in celebration or in hardship, worship anchors us in truth. It reminds us that God is worthy, not because of what He gives us, but because of who He is. When we choose worship, we realign our hearts with heaven.
We declare that God is greater than our circumstances and more deserving than our distractions. Worship is both our response to His goodness and our surrender to His Lordship.
PRAYER
Father God, You alone are worthy of all praise and honour. Teach me to live with a heart bowed low before You. Help me to worship not just with my words, but with my life. But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.
THOUGHT
Our worship of the Lord is directed by our love for Him, and as we love the Lord, we are worshipping Him. To worship the Lord involves loving Him with our heart, soul, mind and strength.
True worship must be “in spirit”, and that is us engaging our whole heart. Unless there is a real passion for the Lord, there is no worshipping in spirit. At the same time, there needs to be “in truth”, and we need to know His word, we need to get to know the God we serve, and how can it be in truth if we don’t read the word? Both of these are necessary for us to honour God with our worship.
Spirit without truth leads to a shallow, overly emotional experience that can be great at the time, but when it ends, then our worship ends. If there is truth without spirit, it can easily result in a passionless encounter that can lead to us having no joy. When you combine spirit and truth in worship, we get to really appreciate the Lord, and the more we get to know Him, the deeper our worship becomes, and God is glorified. If we think about it, truth influences our emotions in a way that brings honour to God.
The truth of God being of infinite value is worthy of infinite passion.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for the example You set and as I read Your word, may I have such a passion for You as I live in the way that You want me to, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Jesus said about the Roman Officer, “I tell you, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!” Luke 7:9 NLT. But what made Jesus say this? The Roman Officer had a slave whom he loved dearly, who was so sick, and he was desperate for him to get well.
The Roman leaders weren’t Jews and didn’t follow Jesus as closely as the Jews did. The officer had heard, had seen and had believed in the sovereignty of Jesus and His healing power. By virtue of his faith in Jesus, he knew that Jesus’ power is not just in His hands but in His being. Jesus’ healing power is found in His hands and in His words. The Roman Officer, as a man of authority, asked Jesus to use the power of His words to heal his slave.
This faith is groundbreaking, to believe that Jesus’ sovereignty, power, glory and majesty are what make Him the healer. Faith is not within the boundaries of what makes sense; faith is in believing who Jesus is. Almighty. Powerful. Sovereign.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus. Thank You for Your power and glory. I believe that You are just the right person I need in my healing. I believe that You are the right solution for my family. Speak a word, and we will be healed. In Jesus’ name, Amen

THOUGHT
The first miraculous sign Jesus performed was at a wedding in Cana, Galilee. The couple had their wedding attire, rings, and venue in order, yet the wine was running dry. Wine was a staple drink, and its running out would have brought embarrassment to the couple. Jesus’ mother saw the wine running dry and approached her Son for help.
Jesus responded, “Dear woman, that’s not our problem; my time has not yet come.”
Mary told Jesus’ servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Mary had great faith in her Son and believed He could provide a solution to a major problem.
Jesus responded to His mother’s faith and turned 113 litres of water into wine.
Faith truly moves the heart of the Lord.
The story concludes by stating that “this miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in Him.”
The Greek word for believed in this context is “pisteuo”, which means: “to have faith”
Jesus’ miraculous sign propelled the disciples to have faith in Him. If it were not for Mary’s faith, this miracle might not have happened. Imagine what more we could do on this earth if we chose to have faith in Christ Jesus.

Lord Jesus, may You grant me the gift of faith. May You empower me to have faith for the impossible because with You, all things are possible, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

I farmed cattle and sheep in the Northern Cape for 8 years. For 2 of those years, we experienced the worst drought that region has had in 3 decades. That was hard. Having to sell animals for a fraction of their worth because there was no food for them and then seeing the few that remained as they stood by the food trough waiting for you to bring them feed. Driving across the farm, watching whirlwinds kick up funnels of red dust into the air.
But every morning I got up, put my shoes on and went out there doing what I could. Not because the clouds were gathering or because there was rain forecast, but because that was all I could do. Because I knew that God governs the seasons, that He is in control and that He is with me.
During times of drought, we never think, “This is building my faith.” It is never pleasant when our faith is being stretched, however, it is only during the next drought or trial that we realise our faith has grown. It’s through those seasons that we are a little bit stronger, and we can endure a little bit more because of what we went through.
In times of drought and trials, remember God is with you and He is in control. Remember, you have been here before. So, get up, put your boots on and do what you can.
PRAYER
Almighty God and Heavenly Father, no one is excited about hard times, but thank You that we can trust You. That You will see us through. Give us the strength to keep going. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

THOUGHT
How do you glorify God in seasons of uncertainty? You need faith. Many people think faith means being perfectly patient, optimistic, and enthusiastic - simply waiting on God. But faith isn’t blind optimism. I have been single for many years, and over time, people (with good intentions) have offered advice. Some even declared my husband would come “this year.” Years have passed, and nothing. I realised they weren’t sure what to say because, although they could see my faith, nothing was happening. It didn’t make sense. There was no outcome.
We often focus on the outcome. We pray, we wait, and hope ‘this’ will happen. But faith isn’t about certainty of outcomes - it’s about confidence in God. The focus is on God, not the result. Even though I long for a husband, I have learned to be content and say: Even if it never happens, I trust the Lord and the story He has written for me. God is in my tomorrow, and I am only in my today. I may not know where I am headed, but I know Who I am headed there with. I trust Him, even when I don’t understand. Trusting God when understanding is absent honours Him deeply. The word says to trust in the Lord, and not to lean on your own understanding. I trust Him! He restored eternity; He can be trusted with today. So how do you glorify God in seasons of uncertainty? You shift your focus from the outcome to God and simply trust. Even in uncertainty, God is glorified when we place our trust fully in Him.

Lord, help us to trust You even when we cannot see the way. Teach us to place our confidence in Your character, not in our circumstances. May our faith honour You, even in seasons of waiting. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
THOUGHT
Hebrews 11 reminds us that faith does not begin with us; it begins with God. Throughout the chapter, we see ordinary people who trusted God in extraordinary ways. Abel, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and many others stepped into the unknown, not because they had perfect confidence in themselves, but because they trusted the God who called them.
Faith is something God both inspires and gives. He plants faith in our hearts and invites us to respond to His voice. When God calls us to trust Him, He also provides the strength to believe and to move forward. The heroes of Hebrews 11 were not fearless or flawless people; they were people who chose to trust God with the faith He placed within them.
This reminds us that faith is not something we manufacture by our own effort. It grows as we listen to God, remember His promises, and step out in obedience. Every act of faith begins with God stirring our hearts and drawing us closer to Him. When we trust Him, even in uncertainty, our lives become part of the same story of faith, one where God leads, strengthens, and proves Himself faithful every step of the way. ause we are strong, but because He is faithful to His promises.

In reformed faith, we understand that service does not earn God’s favour; it flows from it. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, and that grace reshapes the way we live. God does not save us and then leave us without purpose. He saves us and sends us - calling us to lives marked by humble, faithful obedience.
True service begins with gratitude, not obligation. Because Christ has served us first, even to the point of laying down His life, we are freed from self-centred living. Our acts of service, whether public or unseen, become responses of worship. We serve not to be noticed by others, but because we belong to a Savior who delights in shaping us to reflect His love.
Service is also an expression of trust in God’s sovereignty. We may not always see the full impact of our obedience, but we believe that God uses even the smallest acts done in faith for His purposes. No labour offered to Him is wasted. In His hands, ordinary obedience becomes part of His extraordinary work.
As we serve, we are reminded that the strength to continue does not come from ourselves, but from the Lord who works in us. He supplies what He commands and sustains what He begins.

THOUGHT
Our words have more power than we often think, not because of us, but because God is a speaking God whose words create life. Scripture teaches that gentle words give life, like a tree that helps others grow. The way we speak shows what is in our hearts. When our hearts are close to God, our words start to echo His grace, truth, and love. Every day, we have many chances to build others up or tear them down. Words spoken in anger or without care can leave deep wounds, but words shaped by God’s wisdom can heal and strengthen. Being careful with our words shows spiritual maturity and a heart submitted to Him.
As believers, we are called to speak life, hope, and truth- not in our own strength, but through the power of God at work within us. When we let God guide our speech, our words become tools of His peace and love. A changed way of speaking reveals that our hearts have been transformed by Him.

Service is one of the greatest privileges of the Christian life. When we serve God, we are not simply completing tasks; we are giving Him glory through our obedience and love. Every act of service, whether seen or unseen, becomes an offering of worship to the One who is worthy of all honour. God delights when His people reflect His heart by serving others.
For a believer, one of the true highlights of life is the opportunity to serve. Jesus Himself modelled this when He came not to be served, but to serve. When we follow His example, our lives begin to mirror His character. Serving allows us to participate in God’s work on earth and to show His love in practical ways.
Our service is also a response to a life changed by Christ. We do not serve to earn God’s love; we serve because we have already received it. The grace, forgiveness and new life we have in Jesus Christ naturally moves us to love and serve Him.
When our hearts are transformed, service becomes a joy. Through it, God is glorified, people are blessed, and our faith is lived out daily.

THOUGHT
Philippians 2 is one of my favourite passages. Jesus glorified the Father by serving, not by being served - and we are called to have the same attitude. Ironically, our natural inclination is often the opposite. Earlier in this chapter, Paul writes: “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interest but take an interest in others, too.
How does serving others point them back to the glory of God rather than to us? We don’t serve to prove our faith; we serve because we’ve been restored to our original purpose. Humanity was created to steward, care, and reflect God - service is a return to design. Our original design was in the image of God, and when we live as He intended, we reveal Him.
Jesus said, “I only say what I hear my Father say, and I only do what I see my Father do.” So let’s do what the Father says. Scripture calls us to serve because God wants us to live in service to one another. Service isn’t about usefulness; it’s about obedience.
Service is worship made visible. We love God. We love people. Therefore, we serve and when love becomes action, God’s glory is revealed.
PRAYER
Lord, teach us to serve with the same humility and love that Jesus showed. Help us to see serving others as worship, reflecting Your glory in all we do. May our actions point others to You and honour Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

That changes our motivation completely. Service is not about building our reputation, it is about revealing His character. Every time we choose to help, encourage, give, forgive, or step in where there is a need, we are making God visible through our actions. In a culture that often asks, 'What do I gain?' service asks, 'What can I give?' It requires humility and love, but it also produces joy because we are living the way Jesus lived. When we serve faithfully, even in small unseen ways, we reflect a God who serves and cares for His people daily. Service shifts the focus off ourselves and onto His glory. When people see love in action, they do not just see kindness, they see a glimpse of God. That is why service matters. It is worship in motion, and it makes His name known.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the opportunity to serve. Shape my heart so that my actions are rooted in love and not in the desire for recognition. Perseverance is the quiet strength that keeps us faithful when emotions fade and circumstances feel heavy. It is easy to be passionate in moments of breakthrough, but true endurance is formed in the seasons where nothing feels exciting and everything feels routine. I have been a Christian all my life, and something I keep coming back to is this: the Lord does not want us lukewarm.
He calls us to be fully devoted, to live on fire for Jesus. Yet for those who have walked with Him for many years, staying spiritually fervent can sometimes feel like a struggle. Familiarity can dull passion. Routine can replace hunger. Weariness can creep in. But perseverance is choosing to remain steady even when the feelings fluctuate. It is waking up and choosing faithfulness again. It is continuing to pray, to worship, to serve, and to trust even when it feels ordinary. God is not asking for occasional bursts of passion; He is shaping consistent, enduring hearts. The fire of faith is not sustained by emotion alone but by daily surrender. When we keep showing up, when we refuse to quit, when we press into Him despite dryness or delay, something deeper is formed within us.
Perseverance refines our love and strengthens our devotion and in due season, there is always a harvest for those who do not give up.

We live in the tension between being already redeemed and not yet fully restored. God has already begun something in us, but it’s not complete yet. Perseverance is learning to stay steady in that inbetween space, trusting that God is still working even when we can’t see it. Paul writes: “And I am certain that God, who began the good work in you, will continue it until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” We know this to be true. But then life happens. Perseverance is not about pretending everything is fine or forcing yourself to feel strong. It’s choosing to remain when quitting would be easier. It’s trusting that growth is happening beneath the surface, even on the days that feel unproductive or heavy.
We are naturally impatient. We want change now, healing now, and answers now. But real transformation takes time. God is not rushing the process, and neither should we. The work He is doing in you is intentional, steady and deeply personal. In the middle of perseverance, something shifts. We become more grounded, more aware of who God is shaping us to be. We begin to carry a quiet strength, the kind that doesn’t need attention but endures anyway. And in that, we are able to encourage others who are walking their own difficult paths. Perseverance isn’t just enduring difficult situations - it’s deeper than that. It’s staying rooted in God.
We persevere because glory is coming, even when brokenness remains. Perseverance declares that God is worthy, even when the journey is long. Perseverance is quiet worship.

Perseverance is not simply about enduring difficulty; it is about trusting that God is present and active even when we cannot see immediate results. Every step of obedience, every act of faith, and every moment we choose to keep going strengthens our character and deepens our dependence on Him.
Scripture reminds us that there is a harvest connected to faithfulness. The promise is not that the journey will always be easy, but that God is faithful to complete what He has started. When we continue to walk with Him, even in the face of uncertainty and challenge, our perseverance becomes a testimony of His sustaining grace. Today, if you feel weary, remember that God sees your faithfulness. What feels small today may carry eternal significance. Keep trusting, keep believing, and keep moving forward. Can I just be honest for a moment? Sometimes, I get tired of doing the right thing. Especially when I look around and see other people lie, steal, and cheat to get ahead. And it seems like they do. And here we are sticking to the rules of the road, paying our taxes and TV licences like good citizens…
But then I am reminded of what Paul writes in Philippians 3:20 — that we are citizens of heaven. Which means we do not follow the same value system as the world around us. We don’t measure success the same way. We don’t chase what everyone else is chasing. We live differently because we belong to a different Kingdom. Paul, writing in Galatians, understood something important: doing good can feel exhausting when the results are not immediate. There are seasons when obedience feels unnoticed. When integrity feels unrewarded. When kindness seems unappreciated.
But there is a promise attached — “at just the right time.” Not our time. Not always when we expect it. But in God’s appointed season. This can be hard, especially when we have been conditioned to expect instant gratification. The world may reward shortcuts. God rewards faithfulness. The world may applaud compromise but God honours perseverance. So don’t give up. Because at just the right time, you will reap.
PRAYER
Almighty God and Heavenly Father, help us to take our eyes off the world and off the calendar. Not to look at the rewards the world offers and the time frame we want, but to focus on Your will and what honours You. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
THOUGHT
I love looking at Paul’s life because if there was anyone in the bible that had a hard time it was him. Looking at the moment Paul’s entire life changed when he had an encounter with God, to serving the Lord and giving us such a great example of perseverance.
I have known so many people who give their lives to the Lord, but when it gets tough, they would rather walk away than stay in the race and push through to the other side. Paul is a great example of pushing through. When he wrote this scripture, he was in prison and chose to focus on Jesus rather than on the circumstances he was surrounded by. When we are in difficult circumstances that are surrounding us from every side, we need to go to the source of our faith that’s Jesus, so that He can lead us and sustain us until we get to the other side.
God is sovereign and will never give us something that we can’t endure, so let’s take heart because He is with us every step of the way.

Did you know that it is scientifically proven that a bee shouldn't be able to fly? Its wings are too small to get its heavy body off the ground, yet it still flies. To the laws of science, it seems impossible, yet it's still possible. How can this be?
It's because when science says it's impossible, God makes it possible. That's what He did in the beginning: He took a world without form and void and created everything we can possibly imagine.
We look at the mountains, trees, animals, colours…everything around us, and because we’ve gotten so used to seeing it every day, we have forgotten that God's creation screams how He can turn the impossible into a possibility. No one would've thought to paint the sky different colours before the sun rises and sets, but God did. No one thought about creating your furry animal to keep at home as a pet, but God did, and no one thought about creating you, but God did. We serve a powerful and creative God who takes the impossible and makes it possible.
Creation was made possible because of God, and this is why He deserves all the glory, because all of creation proves that He is a God who does the impossible. And if God made creation possible, He sure could take that impossible situation in your life and make it possible.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, help me to understand that You are the God of the impossible. When creation seemed impossible, You made a way. Help me to have faith in You, Father God. Faith that just like You took creation and made it possible, You too can take my impossible situations and turn them around. I also pray, Father, that I will know that it is only by You and nothing else that deserves the glory for doing the impossible in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

THOUGHT
Have you ever just sat and thought about the beginning when God created the world, before He created humans? He created light! He simply uttered the word, and then there was light. There is such power in God’s word and the fact that things happen when He just says the word. He then went on to create the sky, the oceans, plants, stars, fish, and every other thing to a point where you can almost see an artist using His brushstrokes to create a beautiful painting.
He then created all the animals and the absolutely amazing sunsets. When we think about this, we get to realise that God is a master craftsman. The amazing thing is that we are made in His image to create and be creative, to show off His beauty to others, to glorify Him and show others who God is through the creativity He has put in our hearts.
Have you heard that saying: I don’t have a creative bone in my body? Well, it’s hard to believe when we come from the God of Genesis. To some it comes naturally, but not to others and they have to work at it. We just need ways to discover the creativity in us and the best way is to delve into God’s word. God’s given creativity helps us to be passionate about worship, loving one another, and it brings light to a world that so desperately needs it. Imagine if we all thought of ourselves as artists, because we are! We are made in the image of the master craftsman.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for the example You are to us and the comfort we can take in knowing that we were made in Your image. Help me to realise I am a child of the greatest artist there is and help me to be creative in all areas of my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make Him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world.
THOUGHT
Lately, my daughter has had a strange request – she wants to wake up early and watch the sunrise with me. I don’t mind. I love sitting outside with her and a cup of tea, watching the world slowly wake up before the mad morning rush begins. I love watching the sky change colour, hearing the birds chirping around us, and hearing the waves crashing in the background. This is more than a beautiful moment –It’s God’s glory on display.
Have you ever woken up and wondered if the sun would rise that day? Will the Helderberg Mountains still stand around us? If the birds will sing? Have you ever wondered if today the world might spin the opposite direction or if the ocean has suddenly dried up? Probably not. We trust the rhythms in nature without question. We trust the steady patterns of creation because they have proven faithful again and again. And yet, we often struggle to trust God with our everyday lives with our worries, our children, our work, our future.
All creation speaks. It declares His glory. May His creation be a daily reminder that God is faithful, intentional, and good. As surely as the sun will rise tomorrow, His glory will continue to fill the earth.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You that Your power is on display all around, and that the heavens and the earth proclaim Your glory. Open our eyes to see Your majesty and stir our hearts to worship You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THOUGHT
In the fast-paced world we live in, it sometimes feels counter-cultural to slow down and take moments to behold nature. Why would it be necessary to slow the hustle and behold nature? Because nature has a voice.
Nature is keen to share its thoughts because it is always speaking. It tells the tale of the splendours and glory of God.
King David reveals in Psalm 19 how creation actively tells the story of the marvels of the Lord and how the starry vaults of the sky display the skilful craftsmanship of the Creator.
What a joy it is to know that creation speaks of the glory of God.
David continues to share the beauty of the sun, noting that it runs its race from “one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat” (Psalm 19:6)
When nature speaks and fulfils its God-given purpose, it proclaims the glory of God.

THOUGHT
We believe that creation is not accidental, random, or self-sustaining. It exists by the will and word of God, who spoke all things into being and who continually upholds them by His power. Every sunrise, every ocean tide, and every human heartbeat testifies that the world is sustained by a faithful Creator.
Creation first reveals God’s glory, not humanity’s importance. The vastness of the heavens reminds us that God is infinite, while we are dependent and small. Yet within this grand design, we also see His kindness. The same God who set the stars in place also formed us with care and purpose. We are not forgotten within creation; we are intentionally placed within it, called to steward what God has made and to worship the One who made us.
Still, creation also groans under the weight of sin. What was made good is now marked by brokenness, reminding us that we need more than a Creator - we need a Redeemer. In Christ, God has begun His work of restoration, and one day creation itself will be fully renewed. Until then, we live with hope, trusting the same God who created all things will also make all things new.
PRAYER
Creator God, we praise You for Your power and wisdom displayed in all You have made. Teach us to see Your glory in creation and to live as grateful stewards of Your gifts. Fix our hope on Your promise of renewal through Christ and help us trust Your sustaining hand each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
