The proof is in the patients as far as seeing the benefits of medicinal marijuana and aging, according to registered nurse Marcie Cooper. Cooper presented information and her own experiences at the Senior Resource Council’s Dine and Develop event, “Medicinal Marijuana and Aging” on Aug. 16 at the Southeast YMCA. She’s seen many of her geriatric patients experience the rewards of cannabis, not through only smoking it, but using oils and tinctures.

Ready for take off 2017 Pikes Peak Regional Air Show slated for Sept. 23-24 By Becky Hurley The roar of mighty WWII-era aircraft engines and the shriek of modern USAF F-16 Fighting Falcon jets will soon reverberate across Colorado Springs. The Pikes Peak Regional Air Show returns to the skies over America’s mountain beginning at 8 am on Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24. Headliners both days will include the USAF Thunderbirds and more than 30 vintage aircraft including WWII era warbirds and aerobatic teams. The Thunderbirds’ appearance — always exciting – this year commemorates a special 70th anniversary: the US Air Force which was founded as a separate branch of the armed services on Sept. 10, 1947.
