Hey friends!
This January, the cold and icy weather has given me a chance to slow down, reflect, and recharge. It's a reminder I keep learning over and over rest is so important for me to be at my best. I’m drawn to motion, sunlight, and warmth, and even my camp name, Sunburst, feels connected to a season. I’ve really been leaning into the fullness of this winter season, with stillness, hot tea and cozy blankets, taking time to reflect on the past year and map out the year ahead.
One thing I absolutely love about Life Adventure Center is how we balance outdoor adventures with reflection. It’s easy to get swept up in the excitement of things like high ropes, ziplines, and equestrian activities, but the true value comes from the debrief when we slow down, focus our minds, circle up and talk about what we experienced and learned. That reflection is just as important as the adventure itself and where incredible growth and healing can be internalized.
I hope you ' re finding moments of stillness, rest and reflection, and that you enjoy this edition of Circle Up!
Life Adventure Center is a vital resource for individuals facing the challenges of generational trauma and recovery. As a trauma-informed organization, LAC provides a safe and empowering space where our participants children with incarcerated parents and people in recovery from substance use disorder can heal, grow, and build resilience. Through our partnership, they engage in transformative outdoor experiences that foster trust, self-confidence, and meaningful connections. One of the most impactful aspects of this collaboration is the opportunity to engage with local law enforcement officers in a positive and constructive way, breaking down barriers and building relationships rooted in understanding and mutual respect.
LAC’s willingness to work with us on scholarships, as well as their commitment to reducing barriers by providing meals and transportation, ensures that financial and logistical challenges never stand in the way of access to these life-changing experiences. Their team is not only highly skilled but also deeply compassionate, creating an environment where every participant feels supported, valued, and encouraged. We are deeply grateful for LAC’s commitment to creating a brighter future for these individuals.

At J&H we have a program called Bags to Riches In this program 8 charities over the course of the year are displayed to customers to donate to by forgoing a bag We are excited to announce we are one of the first two charities chosen to start 2025! The last two months of the year the top two charities from each of those four go head-to-head The charity with the most customer donated tokens receives a $10,000 donation from J&H in addition to the tokens through the year. Each token is worth 10 cents.
Every time you shop and forego using a bag, your token directly impacts Life Adventure Center and helps our mission to use outdoor adventure to build resilience for a better world.

$2,000 Needed for new harness & ropes course equipment
Help support our mission by donating to our harness and ropes course equipment appeal! We plan to raise $2,000 before our busy summer season. These essential tools will directly impact our program team and deliver vital safety needs to support our participants. Harnesses have a regulated service life of 10 years. The Headwell EZ harness has a fool-proof buckling system. We provide safety gear for all participants of all ages and sizes.
