JERRY FALWELL LIBRARY Named after Liberty’s founder Opened in 2014, the Jerry Falwell Library spans four stories and totals more than 170,000 square feet. Equipped with stateof-the-art technology — including a twostory robotic book retrieval system — the library assists students in their academic pursuits by providing learning resources in both traditional and innovative formats. The library also houses multiple study rooms, the Archives and Special Collections, a conference room, and the Tinney Café, a two-level dining area that features Starbucks, Pizza Hut Express, and Auntie Anne’s Pretzels. 11

HANCOCK WELCOME CENTER Positioned near the main entrances to campus, the Hancock Welcome Center greets Liberty’s new students, alumni, and visitors. An excellent example of Jeffersonian architecture, the welcome center, which opened in 2012, houses the university boardroom and a formal president’s office. The facility is staffed with representatives from various university offices.

ARTHUR S. DEMOSS HALL Originally constructed in 1985, Arthur S. DeMoss Hall underwent an extensive expansion in 2000. Housing an Apple Authorized Campus Store, computer labs, classrooms, the Jerry Falwell Museum, lecture halls, and a rooftop terrace, the 4-story, 500,000-square-foot DeMoss Hall now serves as one of the principal academic facilities on campus.

MONTVIEW STUDENT UNION Completed in Fall 2016, the Montview Student Union houses student services’ offices, six dining venues, a gaming area, a large event space with seating for up to 700 guests, an eight-lane bowling alley, and a comfortable lounge area opening onto the Academic Lawn.

CENTER FOR NATURAL SCIENCES Located in the Academic Commons, the Center for Natural Sciences affords undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to work alongside professors conducting research. The 4-story, 121,000-squarefoot building contains classrooms and an expansive auditorium, as well as more than 20 “wet� labs, a cadaver lab, a cell-culture facility, and several research labs. Housing the Department of Biology & Chemistry and the Department of Health Professions, the facility is outfitted with more than $2 million in advanced equipment, including a gene sequencer and a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. 15

CENTER FOR MUSIC AND THE WORSHIP ARTS The 141,000-square-foot School of Music facility is comprised of two linked, 4-story buildings. Equipped with 124 Steinway pianos, the facility houses 43 teaching studios as well as piano, songwriting, and music computer labs. Additionally, the facility includes two recital halls and a fine arts concert hall capable of seating 1,600 guests.

COLLEGE of OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE The College of Osteopathic Medicine trains skilled and discerning physicians who are committed to advancing medical knowledge while providing patient-centered care with a servant’s heart. Along with select programs from the School of Health Sciences, the college is housed in the 4-story, 140,000-square-foot Center for Medical and Health Sciences. With classrooms and lecture halls equipped for interactive learning, a research center, standardized patient and simulation facilities, clinical medicine and anatomy labs, an extensive library, and incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the center is second to none in the medical profession. The college’s inaugural class will graduate in 2018. 17

SCHOOL of NURSING Liberty University School of Nursing — the largest nursing school in Virginia — provides more than 800 residential students with comprehensive clinical experience, as well as a foundation in nursing skills, behavioral and social sciences, and the liberal arts. Utilizing innovative technology and encouraging compassionate medical care, the School of Nursing equips graduates from the bachelor’s to the doctoral level to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of each patient. SCHOOL of LAW Liberty University School of Law combines education in law theory and history with practical legal training. Through the innovative Center for Lawyering Skills, externship opportunities, and extensive training in mock trial courtrooms, the School of Law produces practitioners of law able to positively contribute to their respective legal bars and communities.

CENTER FOR LAW & GOVERNMENT In collaboration with the School of Law and the Helms School of Government, the Center for Law & Government is a hub for the free exchange of ideas and the robust debate over issues of both state and national importance. The center, headed by former U.S. Congressman Robert Hurt, allows students to put what they have learned into practice in skills labs, where they can participate in real-world scenarios and receive feedback. HELMS SCHOOL OF GOVERNMENT The Helms School of Government develops leaders who are guided by duty, honor, and morality. Teaching classes from a conservative Christian perspective, the school offers associate, bachelor’s (including a pre-law program), and master’s degrees, along with certificates and a variety of focused minor degree options. By instilling a Christian sense of justice and civic duty in students, the Helms School of Government prepares them to make an impact in the world, teaching students the life-changing principle of “service greater than self.” 21

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS The Liberty University School of Business trains students to be both Champions for Christ and effective businesspeople. The school’s focus on commitment, service, and learning is driven by a desire to see both students and faculty glorify God in their work. A new 78,000-square-foot, 3-story building for the school is currently under construction. Features will include meeting, conference, and executive boardrooms, a 500-seat auditorium, and a number of innovative spaces. Plans also call for a simulated stock trading room, which would be visible from behind glass, as well as a real-time ticker, New York Stock Exchange display boards, and computer terminals. CINEMATIC ARTS, ZAKI GORDON CENTER The Cinematic Arts, Zaki Gordon Center is a film school that reaches beyond the traditional model of film education by relying heavily on experiential learning. Students benefit from access to cuttingedge technology, work on a full-length feature film each year, and graduate with film credits. Last year, the center produced “Extraordinary,” the first feature movie created by a university film program to premiere nationwide. “Extraordinary” tells the amazing story of Liberty professor Dr. David Horton’s 1995 Trans-America footrace and was released on Sept. 7, 2017.

TOWER THEATER Home to Alluvion Stage Company and the Department of Theatre Arts, the Tower Theater features a Broadwaystyle fly tower and professional rigging system, seats 640 guests, and includes 12,000 square feet of backstage and support space. The theater offers up to 10 public performances per year. Spring 2018 shows are “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Kin,” “Big Fish,” and “Love’s Labour’s Lost.”

WILLIAMS STADIUM Capable of seating 19,200 spectators, Williams Stadium features a 110-foot viewing tower, five levels, and 18 luxury suites. The stadium complex also houses the Football Operations Center, which includes coaches’ offices, equipment and weight rooms, locker rooms, and a training facility. As part of Liberty’s transition to the FBS level of college football competition, Williams Stadium is currently undergoing a major upgrade, and the first phase of construction is scheduled to be completed prior to the start of the 2018 season. This expansion will bring seating capacity up to 25,000 and will include a new scoreboard, more dining options, and road improvements, as well as new bus loading and unloading areas to improve road and foot traffic. 25

LIBERTY INDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMPLEX The Liberty Indoor Track & Field Complex features a six-lane, hydraulically banked 200-meter track — one of approximately 15 in the nation — and an infield that includes two horizontal jumps and two pole vault runways. Completed in Spring 2017, the Liberty Indoor Track & Field Complex has a seating capacity of 1,500 and accommodates all track & field events.

LIBERTY MOUNTAIN SNOWFLEX CENTRE The Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre is a year-round snowless skiing, snowboarding, and tubing slope. The first of its kind in North America, the Snowflex Centre is home to the Liberty University Ski & Snowboard team and is open to the public.

LAHAYE ICE CENTER The LaHaye Ice Center is home to Liberty University’s men’s and women’s hockey teams, as well as the synchronized and figure skating teams. Additionally, the ice center is open to the public for skating and skating lessons. The ice center accommodates 4,000 fans, has 10 box suites, and features crowd-pleasing concessions areas.

LAHAYE RECREATION & FITNESS CENTER The 230,000-square-foot LaHaye Recreation & Fitness Center boasts seven hardwood basketball courts, four volleyball courts, a pool, two indoor AstroTurf soccer fields, cardio and weight training rooms, multipurpose recreational space, racquetball courts, and a 4,000-square-foot rock-climbing area with a 40-foot climbing tower.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES Students benefit from a campus that spans more than 7,000 acres and offers numerous recreational opportunities. Campus facilities include the Liberty Equestrian Center, a paintball complex, beach volleyball courts, and the Liberty Mountain Trail System with over 50 miles of trails. Students also enjoy an outdoor recreation center with a lake and ropes course, kayaking, and camping.

LIBERTY BASEBALL STADIUM Opened in February 2013, the Liberty Baseball Stadium houses the program’s offices, a fully equipped media area, and a club room. Featuring an AstroTurf playing surface and 2,500 chairback seats for spectators, the park has been named among the top 100 best stadium experiences nationwide and was ranked the fifth best college ballpark experience in the country in 2016 by Stadium Journey. KAMPHUIS FIELD AT LIBERTY SOFTBALL STADIUM Mirroring features of the Liberty Baseball Stadium, the NCAA-regulation Liberty Softball Stadium includes locker rooms, a video scoreboard, AstroTurf with a clay infield, and 1,000 chairback seats for spectators. The softball stadium has been named the secondbest college softball stadium in the nation by FloSoftball.com and one of the seven top college softball stadiums by NCAA.com. LIBERT Y.EDU

LIBERTY INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY Featuring a curved roof with a 70-foot-high clearance, the Liberty Indoor Practice Facility houses a turf playing surface and plenty of glass to allow for natural lighting. The building, which is located in front of Williams Football Operations Center, allows a multitude of teams to practice in all weather conditions, including Liberty’s football, baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s soccer teams, as well as Club Sports teams including disc golf and Ultimate. The Liberty Indoor Practice Facility, completed in Summer 2017, is a key addition to both the university’s athletics facilities and the transition to FBS competition. 33

LIBERTY NATATORIUM The 75,000-square-foot Liberty Natatorium features an eight-lane, 50-meter pool and a separate 17-footdeep diving well with a full tower that includes 1- and 3-meter springboards and 1-, 3-, 5-, 7.5-, and 10-meter platforms. The natatorium was completed in Fall 2017.

LIBERTY ATHLETICS CENTER The Liberty Athletics Center integrates educational facilities with rehabilitation and strength and conditioning facilities to provide Liberty student-athletes with optimal resources for academic and athletic success. Completed in Fall 2017, the facility features academic offices, tutoring centers, study halls, an Olympic weight room and sports medicine area with exam rooms, an X-ray room, treatment and taping tables, and trainer offices, as well as an athlete fueling station offering performance drinks, smoothies, and nutritious foods. 35

RESIDENTIAL COMMONS Comprised of two 9-story residence halls and one 6-story residence hall, the Residential Commons are Liberty’s newest student housing facilities, offering a convenient Main Campus location. Each room features a private bath, and every floor provides laundry facilities and a common lounge. The first residence hall was completed in Fall 2014 and includes a Dunkin’ Donuts and BaskinRobbins. The second residence hall was completed in Spring 2016, and the third high-rise residence hall was finished in Summer 2017.

FREEDOM TOWER At 275 feet, Freedom Tower is the tallest structure in the city of Lynchburg. Serving as the focal point of campus, the tower and its expansive base are home to the Rawlings School of Divinity, the world’s largest accredited school for religious and ministerial training. The tower’s base includes a 150-seat interactive classroom as well as a classroom with multiple projectors that provide an immersive view. The tower also includes an observation floor, a 25-bell carillon, and features the Rawlings Scriptorium, which houses a collection of some of the earliest and most rare Bibles, as well as a life-size replica of the Gutenberg Press. Freedom Tower was completed in Spring 2018. 37
