WEL CO ME We’re so glad you’ve decided to use one of the best resources available to you — your Liberty Marketing Photography Team! Our team has a long history of servicing departments at this university. Since the 1970s, photography has been crucial to showing the visual story of Liberty’s growth. We thrive in creating promotional images that can be placed on everything from buckslips to billboards and magazines to mailers. When you decide to use our Marketing Photography Team, you’re making the decision to have quality images that truly represent your department. THIS GUIDE WILL SHOW YOU: 1. What our team does and who they are. 2. What kind of images and styles you can expect. 3. What to expect from us before, during, and after a shoot. Please read through this guide as thoroughly as possible so we can accurately plan for your shoot and answer any questions that you may have. Sincerely,

WHAT TO EXPECT Before Your Shoot With the help of your department’s marketing project coordinator, we can assist in planning the best possible scenarios, locations, and models for your images. The first step is setting up a meeting with your marketing team and/or entering a project request for approval.
In an effort to ensure that our team is creating images that fit your department’s needs, a mood board may be created by marketing graphic designers and approved by you and your team prior to any promotional shoot.
During Your Shoot
After Your Shoot
Our team of one to three staff members will arrive early to your location for setup and make creative decisions during the shoot to get the images needed to promote your department. Our experienced team will pose the models and work off the provided shot list to get you the best images possible.
Expect to see your images used by our team to update your pieces, both print and on the web. Upon request, a password protected gallery may be provided. Generally, assignments take up to two business days to process.
IMPORTANT INFO General Coverage A simple shoot is imagery of a specific machine, class, or person. Lighting is more portable, and this kind of shoot does not typically require models.
Large Scale Photo Shoot A large scale shoot includes imagery of multiple scenes and scenarios. It can take anywhere from one to three hours and usually includes a specific shot list and mood board, as well as models provided by the marketing team or the department requesting the shoot. A marketing designer or project coordinator usually helps facilitate the shoot. For these setups, two weeks notice is required.
Q: Who provides models, and what do they need to know?
A: Not all shoots need models. We have an extensive model book that we can provide. No matter who your models are, the photography project coordinator will be sure to communicate all necessary details to participants, including time and location, how to dress, and what props to bring.
Q: Does Marketing cover events my department organizes or participates in?
A: Typically, events* are not promotional in nature and would not be covered. We consider these on a case-by-case basis, so you may submit a request. However, we do offer a point-and-shoot camera that may be borrowed by departments for internal use. *Note that universitywide events like Convocation, Commencement, and key athletic games are automatically covered.
Q: Can my shoot be off campus?
A: Yes, within suitable time and distance parameters. If you would like to show graduate students with their children at home, we can travel to their home. If you want to show your students uncovering evidence at a crime scene in Forest, we can travel to you. We recommend meeting prior to off-campus shoots.
