Course Placement and Assessments
COURSE PL ACEMENT AND ASSESSMENTS COMPUTER ASSESSMENT Test your competency by taking the computer assessment. You will be notified when the assessment becomes available in Blackboard and may opt to take it at that time. If you don’t pass or don’t take the test during the time allotted, you’ll need to complete Information Technology (INFT) coursework. Passing the computer assessment, INFT 110/111, or a combination of the computer assessment and a 1-credit INFT course will satisfy the Technology Competency requirement as listed on your Degree Completion Plan. The Math and English assessments are for proficiency and placement, and the results are useful in determining student course schedules. SAT/ACT scores are also used for course placement. Students transferring in a college-level math or English class may be exempt from taking the assessment. Please note that students who are required to take these assessments will be unable to register for courses until they have completed the tests. MATH 114: Math placement score of 70 or higher MATH 115, 117, 121, 125, or 201: Math placement score of 75 or higher MATH 126 and 128: A 570+ (old) or 590+ (new) on SAT math, a 25+ on ACT math, or passing MATH 121 with a grade of a “C” or higher MATH 131: A 620+ (old) or 640+ (new) on SAT math, a 27+ on ACT math, or passing MATH 128 with a grade of “C” or higher
