WHAT IS AN E-BOOK?
An e-book is a digital book that is readable on electronic devices such as computers, tablets, and e-readers. The Jerry Falwell Library’s e-book collection is accessible from any computer and most mobile devices. E-books may be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week from Liberty’s online library portal.
HOW DO I FIND LIBRARY E-BOOKS?
Library e-books can be found several different ways: • Results from any search on the JFL Library website may include e-books related to your search terms. • By clicking on “E-books” in the drop-down menu to the left of the “Search Anything” box, you can limit your results to only e-books. • Under the “Collections” drop-down menu, choose “E-books” for a selection of the most popular e-book databases.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF E-BOOKS?
These resources are full-text searchable and accessible anywhere and anytime. Most can be downloaded to your device for a specified “check-out” time, allowing you to use them offline.
HOW MANY E-BOOKS DOES THE JERRY FALWELL LIBRARY HAVE?

A database is a collection of resources searchable by topic. Most databases consist of journal articles, but there are also specialized databases that include a wide variety of materials such as newspaper articles, reference books, music, videos, pictures, and more.
HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT DATABASE?
The library has grouped databases by subject areas to make it easier to find the best resources for your topic. • Under the “Collections” menu, choose “Databases.” • For general searches, choose one of the “Featured Resources.” • For specific searches, choose the subject area under “Browse by Subject” on the left, then explore the databases specific to that subject area.
WHERE CAN I FIND DIGITAL VIDEOS, PICTURES, AND MUSIC?
We have specialized databases for audio, images, videos, and sheet music, which can be located by choosing “Media” on the “Collections” menu.
