In 2004, the owners of Hobby Lobby donated to the school a mammoth manufacturing plant destined to become an academic and administrative complex (Green Hall). With its finances turning the corner, the university moved forward with an ambitious plan to increase the size of the residential and online programs. Behind the scenes, Falwell, Sr. made plans for what would be his final gift to his beloved school: a multi-million dollar life insurance policy on himself, with Liberty named as beneficiary.
