ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Center for Financial Literacy

The Center for Financial Literacy (CFL) offers free peer-topeer financial coaching to Liberty students, alumni, staff, and faculty. Coaches provide a biblical perspective through individual coaching sessions, group presentations, and resource referrals on topics such as:

• Creating a budget

• Maximizing employee benefits

• Saving and investing early

• Understanding consumer debt

• Wisely building credit

The CFL partners with the Ron Blue Institute to provide content that is scripturally founded with practical and immediate application. The CFL also offers a free, online, self-paced course (FNLT 101) that guides students in creating a personalized financial plan with specific next steps to reach their financial goals.

College of Applied Studies & Academic Success

The College of Applied Studies & Academic Success (CASAS) is a comprehensive support center made up of many departments that provide a wide range of services to assist students. CASAS offices include College Success Services, the Academic Success Center, Career Services, the Parent and Family Connections Office, Center for Professional & Continuing Education, Technical Studies, General Education, and Testing Services.

CAMPUS SAFETY AND TRANSPORTATION

Emergency Management & Community Engagement Office

The Emergency Management & Community Engagement (EMCE) Office promotes campus safety through planning, response, training, and outreach. EMCE conducts risk assessments, operates a 24/7 dispatch center, manages LU Alerts and the ChampionSafe app, and educates the community on emergency readiness. EMCE also supports a state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center, proudly serving as Virginia’s Region 3 Coordination Center in partnership with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.

Liberty University Police Department

Liberty University Police Department (LUPD) protects through service and is grounded on the three pillars of Character, Competency, and Culture. LUPD is a 24/7 full-service law enforcement agency that includes parking enforcement, security, K-9, investigations, and administrative divisions, and has the same responsibilities and powers as those of a municipal police force. LUPD and EMCE are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) Inc.

Transit Services

Transit Services makes campus and the surrounding community accessible to students and reduces the need for personal vehicles. Students have access to on- and off-campus bus routes and On-Demand Ride through the myLU portal. Service is available to satellite parking areas; the Roanoke, Richmond, and Lynchburg airports; an Amtrak station; and a Greyhound depot (accessible by reservation at least 72 hours in advance).

Liberty Pastoral Counseling & Care

The Liberty Pastoral Counseling & Care (LPCC) office provides support and ministry to students — specifically focusing on the spiritual and physical well-being of students. LPCC ministers through one-on-one biblical counseling and chaplaincy in areas such as premarital counseling and benevolence. LPCC seeks to help students connect to the local church for spiritual growth, accountability, and support.

ID & Campus Services

ID & Campus Services (IDCS) provides the Flames Pass — your student’s official Liberty University ID and the key to many resources and privileges both on and off campus. It remains valid as long as the student is actively enrolled. The Flames Pass also provides access to Flames Cash, a form of campuswide currency that can be used instead of credit cards or cash. Students can receive a Flames Pass by visiting IDCS with a valid government-issued photo ID or request one online via the Photo Upload Application.
