MAY 2024
One of my goals is to position Liberty HealthShare as one of the most comprehensive health sharing ministries in the country. Our membership deserves no less than our best, and it is our mission to deliver. Our recent additions of Dental and Catastrophic (Freedom) programs represent well our focus on continuing to evolve to meet our members’ needs.
I am delighted that response to both programs has been strong. As I write to you today in early May, we are seeing a constant flow of current members who are adding Dental to their memberships. This is exactly what we believed would happen based on the survey we completed last fall when we asked our membership about additional health care needs they would like to address.
The program is worthy of your time and attention if you have not spent time exploring the offering. Because we made the dental sharing program so robust, yet kept the contribution amounts so low, we did not want to make this program available to the general public as a stand-alone program. Participants must be enrolled in one of the Liberty HealthShare medical sharing programs. Primary members can add Dental to their membership at the designated monthly share amount. Prospective members can enroll in both a medical and dental program at the same time.
Interest in the program has been strong, driven by the low monthly share amounts and the freedom to choose your own dentist. We listened to our members in designing this program and feel confident that we have created something that will improve the quality of life for members of the Liberty HealthShare family. Multiple studies have pointed to a strong correlation between good dental care and good overall health, especially
cardiovascular health, so we feel this is a fantastic add-on for our membership. To learn more, visit www.libertyhealthshare.org/dental.
I am equally excited by the number of people who have expressed interest in serving as a Liberty HealthShare Ambassador. The program allows interested individuals to help bring more members into our ministry while earning money for their effort. We have made being an Ambassador simple by providing all the resources you need to help tell the distinctive story of our organization. We welcome your interest and hope you will consider working as an Ambassador. You can learn more at info.libertyhealthshare.org/ share-the-power.
As you read this issue of our monthly magazine, please take a moment to read our Employee Spotlight. This month’s issue highlights the work of Angela Bryant, one of the members of our Care Navigation Team. I am always eager to learn what attracted our employees to service in the ministry. In Angela’s case, losing her father at an early age and watching her mother care for a family member with a profound illness led her to a career – nursing – where she could help others. She is a great example of the caring, compassionate individuals who work hard each day to provide the best experience possible for our members.
I am grateful for your partnership and your membership in Liberty HealthShare. Our ministry is on the move, and we want you to join us on this wonderful adventure!
In His Love and Service,
On May 1, we launched a new dental sharing program.
“Good dental health contributes to overall wellness and can help people avoid serious illness,” said Dorsey Morrow, chief executive officer.
“Recognizing this, almost 75% of those taking part in a member survey said they would be interested in an affordable dental sharing program. We are excited to be able to bring this new program to our members.”
Liberty HealthShare’s new dental sharing program is only available to members of the ministry’s medical cost sharing programs. It is not being offered as a standalone sharing program.
“Like our medical cost sharing programs, this new program is designed to make dental care more affordable for our members and their families by sharing the cost with the community of Liberty HealthShare members,” Morrow said.
The new dental sharing program allows members to see the licensed dentist of their choice without any network restrictions. The program can be combined with the existing Careington dental discount program for even greater savings.
*Up to 4 members. Additional $20 for each member over 4 people.
Add Liberty Dental to your existing membership before October 1, and Liberty HealthShare will waive the dental program AUA until your regular membership renewal! Even More Savings

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.
Luke 4:18-19 NLT
The good news of Jesus Christ never gets old. It may get old in the context of how it is shared, but the news itself never changes. Denominations and churches may water it down or even totally disregard it, but the message never changes.
It is the message from Jesus himself. Quoting from the prophet Isaiah, He stood in the temple and read the words declaring His ministry and message. Let me break it down:
• To bring good news to the poor.
• To proclaim that captives will be released.
• To proclaim that the blind will see.
• To proclaim that the oppressed will be set free.
• To proclaim that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.
Whatever may be going on in your life, at home, at work, or in your family, you should be able to find good news in this proclamation.
Jesus came to enable the human race to find abundant life in Him. That doesn’t mean you will be rich, but it does mean that you will find satisfaction in Him. Be rich in your relationship with Jesus. Don’t let anything or anyone bind you. Find freedom in Christ. He came to this earth that you might be free and find your wholeness in Him.
Dear Jesus, I know that you came to set the captive free. You preach good news! May I remember this all day today and live in the freedom you have given me. Amen.
For those who are waiting on a test result. We pray they receive a favorable answer and wisdom for their healthcare decisions.
For those who are new members. We pray for guidance in their healthcare decisions, and we thank God for the blessings they will be, and receive, in our sharing community.
For those who are experiencing change. We pray for courage and confidence in God.
For those who are suffering from mental health challenges. We pray that the Lord is their strength, hope, and peace.
For those who are burdened by world events. We pray that they continue to give their worries to God and ask for His will to be done on Earth.
For those who are weary. We pray they are strengthened in Jesus' name.
For those who have an unspoken prayer need. We pray that God will give them faith to believe in His gracious answer and steadfast love.
For those who are mothers. We pray God's joy and love abundantly bless them.
For those who are mourning around this Mother's Day. We pray God wraps them in His compassion and gives them peace.
For families who gather. We pray for peace, joy, and unity in Christ.
Amen and amen.
If you would like prayer for yourself or a family member from our Pastoral Care Team, you can request prayer inside your PrayerBox found inside your ShareBox.
More than 120 individuals have already expressed interest in serving as Liberty HealthShare Ambassadors as part of the ministry’s new “Share the Power” program. Through this new opportunity, Ambassadors can earn monthly commission by helping to enroll new Liberty HealthShare members.
“We’re excited about the initial response to our announcement,” said Chief Executive Officer Dorsey Morrow. “We have received expressions of interest in the program from both members and those outside of the ministry. Our Ambassadors are located throughout the country, which is a positive indicator of the reach our ministry is having in enhancing the quality of life for our members.”
Liberty HealthShare staff members are now collaborating with Ambassadors to provide training, resources, and guidance as preparation for their work in marketing the ministry’s programs and offerings.
To learn more about all that is available to you if you are an Ambassador, visit www.libertyhealthshare.org/ambassador.
Representatives from the Liberty HealthShare sales and marketing teams are available to talk with prospective Ambassadors as they begin their work representing the ministry.
“We want this to be a positive experience for our Ambassadors,” said Morrow. “It is a win-win situation as our Ambassadors create a revenue stream for themselves and we bring new people into the Liberty HealthShare family.”
Participation in the “Share the Power” Ambassador program is open to current Liberty HealthShare members, as well as those who support the ministry’s mission but are not active sharing members. Licensed insurance agents and those involved in the insurance industry are not eligible to participate as an Ambassador. Additionally, the program is not available for residents of Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Mexico, or Pennsylvania due to state regulations.
If you have questions or would like more information, contact our Ambassador program coordinator via email at ambassador@libertyhealthshare.org, or by phone at 330-754-2154. Please also consider asking for a copy of our online Ambassador TrainingWebinar, which features Liberty HealthShare staff talking about the sales process and other valuable information.

Experiencing personal loss at an early age led Angela Bryant to a career in caring for others. Bryant, a member of the Care Navigation Team, lost her father, Doug, to a heart attack at age 39. She was only 9 years old at the time of his passing.
“It really shaped me to be the person I am today,” said Bryant. “I had to grow up faster. It made me a stronger person because of unfortunate circumstances.”
Bryant was also shaped by watching her aunt struggle with the impact of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), as well as witnessing the care provided for her by her mother, Vicki.
“My aunt lived with us, and I was able to see all my mom did to care for her,” said Bryant. “It made me want to do something with my life that would allow me to take care of others.”
After graduating from high school, the Alliance, Ohio native began work as a medical assistant while earning her nursing degree. This pathway eventually led to Liberty HealthShare.
“What I do is very fulfilling,” said Bryant. “I get to help our members and provide support for them during some of the most difficult times in their lives. It makes me happy when they call or write to me later and explain how my work has helped them.”
Bryant admits that the job is sometimes very difficult as she talks with members who have recently received a bad diagnosis.
“I rely on my faith to get me through those times, and I share that with our members,” said Bryant. “It is challenging, and at the same time, very rewarding.”
After five years of service to Liberty HealthShare, Bryant is happy with her decision to work in nursing.
“Mine is a different role than that of a hands-on nurse,” said Bryant. “However, it is still an opportunity to use my education in a way that provides care for people. I enjoy it.”
Bryant is also well aware of how her parents have shaped who she is as a person and a professional.
“I developed my sense of empathy and compassion from watching my mom,” said Bryant. “My work ethic comes from my father who was a very hard worker. He worked midnights and extra shifts to provide for our family. I want to work in a way that honors both of them.”
What I do is very I get to help our members...during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

Did you know that there are four “types” of exercise to consider when you are working on physical health? Everybody take some time to write down your guesses – ready? When you’re thinking about exercising, you should consider the following four areas: endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility. Let’s look at why each area is important, and some things that you can do for each!
First comes endurance. Your cardiovascular system touches just about every aspect of your health – so making sure you incorporate some endurance focused exercise in your life should not be overlooked! Your main focus of endurance exercise should be to increase your breathing and heart rate, and doing so need not be complicated. Going for a walk is a great place to start, and if you like to jog, swim, or bike you’re well on your way!
Next up is strength. Muscle mass, and thus overall bone health and quality of life, fades as we age. So, does everyone need to become an Olympic powerlifter? Of course not – you can put your singlet and chalk away! Trust that there is strength training that’s right for you. Consult your doctor to discuss what type of training would be best for you and take it slow. Whether it’s bodyweight exercises, resistance band training, or simple dumbbell exercises, take tiny steps to get stronger today!
Third, and maybe often overlooked, is balance. Most balance improving exercise isn’t flashy or exciting, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less important. Working with a physical therapist is a great starting point, but simple exercises like weight shifts or single leg lifts are great at strengthening all those little muscle and tendons that keep us steady.
Finally, flexibility! Training balance can help keep us steady, while training flexibility can help keep us mobile! Not only does training flexibility improve other areas of exercise, but it also helps us to be able to perform daily activities. You may notice a theme by this point, but training flexibility does not have to be complicated. Simple stretches, held for anywhere between 10 and 30 seconds, can have a tangible impact!
I hope you’ve learned that working on our holistic fitness, the well-being of every aspect as outlined in 3 John 1:2, doesn’t have to be complicated. You can focus on activities that you enjoy and grow in the varied physical metrics that make up a healthy you, wonderfully made by God! Everyone, no matter their age or fitness level, can benefit from incorporating these basics into their lives. Give it a try and walk together with your Liberty HealthShare community towards a happier, and healthier, future!

Even if a provider is contracted with the PHCS Network (on HST Connect they have a purple dot), they still may not work with those who utilize a healthshare, Liberty HealthShare or others. In this event, there is nothing that can be done to make the provider submit bills to Liberty HealthShare. Using HST Connect to find a different provider in your area that works with healthshares is the best course of action. If you choose to pay a provider’s bill and submit the expense yourself, you could pay more than the fair and reasonable amount that is shareable and not be reimbursed for the full amount that you’ve paid. Call Member Services at 855-585-4237 for assistance.
