In the Argosaronic, the journey is not just a route from one island to another. It’s moments, images, and emotions that remain forever etched in memory. It’s the salty breeze on the deck, the first light that illuminates the white houses on the islands, the anticipation that grows when you spot your destination on the horizon.
On this journey, Saronic is always there — ready to transport you, accompanyyou, andbecomeapartofyourownsummer story.
Renewed, Yet with the Same Heart
With a new logo, fresh colors, and a renewed identity, Saronic enters a new era, without losing any of the warmth, reliability, and hospitality that established it. Our goal remains constant: to offer every journey human, authentic, and safe — a journey that begins the moment you board the ship.
Artemis: A Symbol of Freedom
Along with the new era comes a new symbol: Artemis, the seagull of the Argosaronic, the proud companion of all our travels. Artemis is not just any seagull. It is the feeling of freedom, the dedication to the sea, the persistence to keep traveling against the winds, always with strength and grace. Just like Saronic.
Colors That Tell Summer Stories
The new identity of Saronic is inspired by everything we love in the Argosaronic. The deep blue of the sea that embraces
you, the turquoise that lights up the shores, the orange of the picturesque houses that welcome you to the islands, and the bright yellow of the sun that accompanies every moment on board. Each color, a memory. Each memory, a small summer.
Deep Roots in the Sea
For Saronic, the relationship with the sea is much more than just professional. The families of the ferry owners have been traveling these waters for three generations, passing down from generation to generation the love for the sea, the respect for the islands, and the people who visit them. And along with them, the captains, crews, engineers — everyone who works behind every route, forms a large family that knows well the value of the perfect journey.
The Future of Travel is Green
But Saronic doesn’t stop here. We look ahead with vision and action: In 2025, the fleet expands with a new, modern ship, while plans for Greece’s first fully electric ship are already underway—aboldstepformoresustainable, environmentally friendly travel in our beloved Argosaronic.
Saronic: Your Friend on the Sea
The renewal of the Saronic identity brings with it a promise: Tomakeeveryjourneyevenmorebeautiful, morecomfortable, andmoreunforgettable.Theships, agencies, digitalplatforms, and communication materials will soon get their new look, ready to welcome travelers who know that the journey is not measured only in miles, but in smiles, moments, and small summer memories.

ΣΚΑΛΑ - SCALA
There are two well-organized beaches in Scala. One beach is located at the beginning of the village, next to the port and in front of the church of Agioi Anargyroi. It is a beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear shallow water. It attracts a lot of people and many families, as the sea is shallow and suitable for children and the elderly. The other one is located on the way out of the village and it also attracts a lot of people because it is both pebbled and partly sandy. After swimming, rent a bike! If you want to get the most out of the island, forget the luxury of a car. Æ
ÆTIP: Both beaches have beach umbrellas with chairs and tables where you can have a drink or a snack.

MUST DO'S
• The island was called Kekryfalia in antiquity–this is how Thucydides, Diodorus and Pliny mention it, among others. The name means "adorned head".
• Until 1960, when the ferry connection with Piraeus began, Agistri was connected only with Aegina, and only with small boats.
• Magiza and Bariama in the south are the most non crowded beachesontheisland–inafewyears, theywillhavebecome like Chalikiada too, so... hurry up.
• There is one and only windmill on the island, at the highest point of the village Myloi, which is also known as Megalochori.
• Fourteen square kilometers is the area of the whole island, which runs almost entirely on paths, for the enjoyment of hiking friends.
• The routes for cyclists are also very nice, with plenty of shade thanks to the tufted pine forest. Please note that bicycles travel with you free of charge on all ferries..
• There are four villages in total on the island: Scala, the main port, Metochi, Myloi or Megalochori and Limenaria.
• It’s such a small island but it does have a lake! The locals call it Lekani, and it is a tiny wetland, with waters renewed by the sea through a small canal. You will find it on the way from Limenaria to Aponisos.
A place of inspiration overlooking the Saronic Gulf!
On the edge of Skliri forest, offering stunning views towards the Argosaronic gulf, lies Alkyoni. Operating since 1982, it has its own pace and unique atmosphere which so many years attracts travelers from around the globe. Here you can find beautiful rooms that combine traditional with modern. Do not miss to eat at the hotel's restaurant where you can taste high quality Mediterranean cuisine. Fresh fish and meat, good wine and tradional meze from local ingredients create Alkyoni's cuisine, which several times has been refered by national and international media.
Bite the Burger, Feel the Street Vibes!
onion rings, mozzarella
If your summer includes beach breaks, evening strolls, and bold flavors that lift you up, then a stop at the new Afro Bites is almost mandatory. Right on the beach of Scala, this cool self-service spot brings urban street food culture to the most laid-back island setting. Its menu is packed with all the things you crave after a day in the sun: juicy burgers (with beef patties, chicken, or a vegan option), crispy hot dogs, and generous portions — from chicken wings and nuggets to onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and golden fries, served plain or with cheeky sauces.
Whispers of art, echoes of summer
Just a few minutes from Scala, in the green landscape of Skliri, Villa Kapella looks like a secret that only those who know the island well can tell you. Among the pine trees and with a view that disappears into the blue, a place that breathes art emerges - and not by chance. Daisy, a painter and the soul of the place, has curated every corner with a personal touch. From the paintings on the walls to the handmade details on the furniture, every room bears her signature. The rooms are spotlessly clean, warm and tidy, with a traditional aesthetic that subtly flirts with art. Some overlook the vastness of the Saronic Gulf; and all have a sense of serenity that is hard to describe. The best? This quality hospitality comes with prices that don't break the bank. It's like it was made for summers without a schedule, full of light and simplicity.
There are two beaches with clear blue waters both sandy and pebble. The first beach is located to the left of the port of Megalochori and the second one is on the right of the port and consists of small organized sandy beaches.
ÆTIP:
The picturesque port of Mariza is 200 meters away from Limenaria and is a sample of the beauty and magic. Mariza is a rocky beach, full of pine trees, with deep crystal clear waters, to which access is easy and by any means of transport.
ÆTIP: It is a cove in which many love to moor their boats.
ÆTIP: On the second beach, you will find umbrellas, sunbeds and tables, where you can enjoy with your an ice-cream or a meal.
From the port of Piraeus depart daily routes of Saronic to Agistri while the journey takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
In the quiet Megalochori of Agistri, where nature's simplicity meets refined aesthetics, NOIMA Casa Unico redefines the concept of luxurious hospitality. With elegant, bright spaces, rooms with private balconies and outdoor whirlpool tubs overlooking the endless blue, NOIMA offers a haven of absolute tranquility and aesthetic completeness. The outdoor freshwater pool and the elegant pool bar set the scene for serene and relaxing moments overlooking the Aegean Sea.
Just 350 meters from the port of Agia Marina and set right on the water’s edge, Amare stands out as a beach restaurant that feels like it’s been transported straight from the shores of the Italian Riviera. With an aesthetic reminiscent of Portofino and a nostalgically Mediterranean atmosphere, Amare offers an experience that blends relaxation with understated elegance. Its philosophy centers on the authenticity of flavors and the quality of raw ingredients, with a menu inspired by the rhythms of the Mediterranean, highlighting freshness and simplicity. Coffee and breakfast with a sea view, swimming in crystal-clear waters, refreshing cocktails, and meals that beautifully merge Greek and Italian influences create a seamless all-day experience.
Discover the authentic taste of Aegina
If there’s one name synonymous with the authentic taste of Aegina, it’s Aiakeion. A landmark of the island and a favourite spot for both locals and visitors, the historic pastry shop with its unrivalled view of the picturesque port of Aegina has been renewed this year, while preserving the charm and atmosphere that made it a point of reference. In its newly renovated space, indulgence takes on the flavor of pistachio in all its delicious forms. Fluffy waffle with pistachio ice cream, chocolatey profiterole filled with pistachio cream, and the famous Pistalicious, which has gained its own fanatic audience. Creativity doesn’t stop here though: seven(!) different flavors of pistachio ice cream, aromatic coffee and pistachio-infused drinks, and of course, the irresistible Beirut-style syrup-soaked tray sweets, with heavenly syrup and rich filling made from the famous Aegina nut.
MEDITERRANEAN LANDSCAPES, BEAUTIFUL BEACHES & GREAT HISTORY
The island of Aegina is beautiful, with imposing Mediterranean landscapes, great history and ancient memories almost everywhere, from the beaches to the mountains, and one of the most impressive sunsets in Greece, in Sfentouri, a small mountain village near Perdika.
You will reach Aegina, the biggest island of the Argosaronic Gulf, by boat in about 1 hour and 15 seconds from Piraeus. The first thing you will see while you are still on the boat is Aegina’s city and the port.
The island was an important commercial port of the ancient world but also a temporary seat of government (1828-1829) of the newly established Greek state. Its
great history has been reflected in the majestic monuments of classical antiquity, in its Byzantine chapels but also in the elegant neoclassical buildings of the 19th century. Aegina is also internationally famous for its pistachio and ceramics.
The rare natural beauties and idyllic landscapes of Aegina have inspired great Greek artists throughout the ages who chose to live in this beautiful island. According to mythology it was named Aegina from the daughter of the God Asopus, Aegina, whom Zeus fell in love with and abducted to the island of Oinoni, which was renamed Aegina. It is the island where Nikos Kazantzakis spent 20 whole years and wrote some of his most important works.

Near the harbour, where the summer breeze mixes with the smell of salt and freshly baked bread, Kriton Gefseis is the most authentic taste of Crete in Aegina. A table set for two, some wine or raki, and the journey begins - with mouth-watering restaurant dishes, generous portions, deeply Greek and full of care. The cuisine, curated by chef Eleni Roussakou and her team, is a hymn to tradition with a touch of modern gastronomy. Homemade pies, dakos, juicy and well-cooked meats, fresh fish and seafood, but also the most tender chestnut stew you've ever tasted, set the pace in a menu that is an ode to Greek Mediterranean cuisine. And if you find yourself here in the evening, live music completes the picture, with ouzo, chatter and laughter that lingers long after the last bite.

Two special places on the island, the Temple of Aphaia and the Kazantzakis House, invite us to get to know the history and the life and work of an emblematic personality who left his mark on Greek art and literature.
TEMPLE OF APHAIA
a place of worship since prehistoric times. It is located 15 km from the capital of Aegina and 2 km east of Mesagros. It was built in 500–490 BC on a previous temple, which had been destroyed by fire. The Aeginites decided to demolish it, but kept the gate and the great altar and rebuilt a new one. The new temple took its final form in 500 BC and is an excellent example of archaic architecture.

- PERDIKA
Perdika is located in a spot with an incredible view that'll bring you inner peace. Its narrow streets and whitewashed houses with courtyards full of flowers refer to Cycladic architecture. The beach isn't sandy, but if you prefer a sandy one, 2-3 kilometers away you'll find some amazing sandy beaches: Sarpa, Klima, Klidi behind the mountain village of Sfentouri.
ΜΟΝΗ - MONI
Just a short hop from Perdika, you'll find the island of Moni. As its name suggests, this island is home to a monastery and is not inhabited. You'll find dense vegetation with trees and alleys for beautiful hiking. Since 1962, it has been a park for natural breeding of prey, and you'll see free peacocks, deer, and ibex there, all of them familiar with people.
ÆTIP: Just a heads-up: If you're going to Perdika, make sure to try the food! It's famous for its great food and fresh fish.
In the lovely fishing village of Perdika, where the blue of the sea meets the sky, the fish tavern Yovita has become a must-visit spot for anyone who loves fresh fish, seafood and stewed dishes that remind you of home. The seafood pasta is a real standout – it's got a rich flavour and the ingredients are all fresh. You've got to try the Katsoula of the Saronic Gulf too – it's the region's trademark fish. And if you're feeling thirsty, there's an excellent selection of Greek spirits and some great labels from Greece and abroad. If you find yourself in Perdika early in the morning, you can also enjoy a traditional Greek breakfast at Yovita. It's hearty and delicious, and will fill you with energy for the whole day.

Mourtzis Family - two stores - One pistachio legacy
If there’s one true ambassador of Aegina, it’s undoubtedly its world-famous pistachio - and if there’s a place that honors it the way it deserves, it’s Mourtzis. The original store is tucked into the fish market, but this legendary name recently gained a second home right at the port. It’s the perfect stop after a stroll through Aegina’s charming alleys, where you can enjoy a coffee and a pistachio-based treat at one of the outdoor tables. The Mourtzis family has been cultivating their own pistachios since 2001 and knows best how to transform this beloved nut into a gourmet delight. Roasted with salt or plain, raw, in syrupy saragli, caramel pistachio bites, pasteli bars or crunchy cookies, whatever you try, you’ll be coming back for more. The new location also doubles as a café/deli, where aside from your coffee, you can indulge in ice cream, cakes, cookies, and all kinds of sweet bites that highlight the nutty star of Aegina. Meanwhile, the online shop is a small treasure trove, filled with herbs, chocolates, dried fruits, and everything you need to take a little piece of Aegina back home with you.

Φρικασέ - Lamb Fricassée
- EXECUTION
- Wash and pat the meat dry. Season with salt and pepper, then dust with the flour.
- In a large pot, heat some olive oil until hot. Sauté the lamb until well browned on all sides. Add the chopped onion and continue sautéing over medium heat for another 3–4 minutes. Deglaze with the white wine.
- Once the alcohol has evaporated, add enough water to just cover the meat. Simmer gently for about 40 minutes, or until the meat is tender. Add more water if necessary during cooking.
When the lamb is cooked, add the lettuce, spinach, and spring onions. Cook for another 15 minutes until the greens are soft and have released their juices. Stir in the chopped dill and remove the pot from the heat.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Slowly add the lemon juice while continuing to whisk. Gradually incorporate a few ladles of the hot broth into the egg-lemon mixture, whisking constantly to temper the eggs. Pour the avgolemono (egg-lemon sauce) into the pot and stir gently to create a silky, slightly thickened soup. Taste and adjust seasoning with extra lemon juice or salt and pepper, if needed.
Your fricassée is ready, enjoy your meal!

POROS
ANCIENT TEMPLE OF POSEIDON
The clock, symbol and emblem of the island, is easily accessible from the port. It is surrounded by prickly pear and pine trees at the highest point of the island, which is why the view of the harbor and the opposite coasts is so enchanting. It was built in 1927 and the cost of its construction was covered by the Poriotis MP of Troizinia, Ioannis Char. Papadopoulos, who also provided for the purchase of an elaborate clock mechanism made in America in 1915. The clock mechanism, after being repaired and modified, is now installed on the ground floor of the building in a glass case, as if waiting to impress even the most demanding visitor.
- ASKELI
The ancient temple of Poseidon is located on the north side of the island, in Palatia, which is between Vigla and Profitis Ilias. It is estimated that it was built in 520 BC. and is Doric in style with 6 columns in width and 12 in length and with 2 entrances. In fact, it is one of the three great sanctuaries of Poseidon around the Saronic Gulf. The temple formed an isosceles triangle with Aphaia Aegina and Poseidon of Sounio. Only a few ruins remain of the Doric temple (6th century) built of blue limestone. However, it remains one of the most important monuments of antiquity in ancient Kalavria, in perhaps the most beautiful part of the island.
Right after Anali you will reach the beautiful Askeli, built amphitheatrically on the slope of a pine-covered hill with a panoramic view from above. MONASTIRI BEACH
Μετά
Right after Askeri beach you will find Monastiri beach which is the beach of the monastery. ΜΟΝΑΣΤΗΡΙ
The Monastery of Zoodochou Pigi was built in the 18th century on a green slope overlooking the sea, 4 km from the center of Poros, and is an example of the unique island monastic architecture, a perfect combination of peace, simplicity and picturesqueness. At the entrance of the monastery there is a spring known for its healing properties, from which the monastery takes its name.
RUSSIAN NAVAL STATION
To the west of the port of Poros, 5 kilometers north, in a beautiful bay, the ruins of the amphitheatrically built Russian naval station are preserved. After the end of the Russo-Turkish war, the Russians chose this port to create a station for the Russian fleet. So in 1834 they built a complex of buildings for the production of galeta and for the storage of materials, food and coal to supply the Russian fleet. The Russians maintained the property until 1900. At the beginning of the 20th century, the then Greek Ambassador to Russia, Alexandros Tombazis, a native of Poriot, proposed to the Tsar that the property be transferred to the Greek state for the benefit of the Greek Navy. The Tsar agreed and so the Russian Naval Base came under the jurisdiction of the Naval Service that was then based in Poros. Since 1989 it has been declared a historical monument due to its great architectural and historical interest.
Opposite the Russian naval station is the small island of Daskalio with the small church of Koimisis of Theotokou, in a beautiful and picturesque cove. It was probably named so because during the Turkish occupation it functioned as a ”secret school”. But what makes Daskalio special is the fact that if you look at it from above, it looks like it has the shape of a heart!
DANA LIGHTHOUSE
”Dana Lighthouse, at the entrance of the Gulf of Poros, was built in 1870 by the French Society of Ottoman Lighthouses. It is one of the most beautiful square stone lighthouses in Greece and one of the most recent monuments in the maritime history of the place. The height of its tower is 9 meters and its focal height is 32 meters, while it is less than 6 km from the city of Poros. The path from the main road to the lighthouse is good and the journey does not take more than fifteen minutes. So what is better than walking to reach the lighthouse from there to admire the beautiful view of the Saronic Gulf and Methana.
Love Bay is a very romantic cove where you can enjoy the green and turquoise waters and swim... under the pines! It is an organized beach with umbrellas, sun beds, tables and a canteen where you can eat, drink your coffee, soft drinks, ouzo, tsipouro, wine or beer! SALAMINA
A BEAUTIFUL DESTINATION WITH DISTINCT IDENTITY!
Salamina, also known as Koulouri in ancient times, is the largest island in the Saronic Gulf and the closest to the coasts of Attica. It is located in the northwestern part of the Saronic Gulf and its capital is the homonymous city of Salamina. Salamina is the home of Homer’s King Aiada of Telamonios and the tragic poet Euripides. It is also internationally known for the historic battle of 480 B.C. between the Greeks and the Persian Empire, which resulted in the victory of the Greeks and the final end of the Persians’ plans to expand into Europe. The great modern Greek poet Angelos Sikelianos lived in
a small house in Saladmina, opposite the monastery of Faneromeni, from 1933 to 1950. The legendary fighter of the Greek Revolution, Georgios Karaiskakis, had his headquarters on the beach of Salamis, his protector was Saint Demetrius, and so his last wish was to be buried on the island. The facilities of the Salamis Naval Base are located on the northeastern coast of the island. Salamina attracts many tourists during the summer, both for long term vacations and for day trips, as it is a stone’s throw away from Piraeus and is a very economical destination.

MONASTERY OF FANEROMENI
DID YOU KNOW…
The Monastery of Faneromeni in Salamina is a historical monastery located on the northwest coast of the island of Salamina, where a very old and almost abandoned Christian temple used to be. In this temple a picture of the Virgin Mary was found by Lambros Kannelos, who built a monastery and lived in it, and was finally sanctified by the Greek Orthodox Church and given the name of Saint Lavrentios. According to church tradition, he saw the Virgin Mary three times in his sleep, who told him to go to Salamina, to the ruins of the temple, throwing his cloak into the sea to cross over. He went to the place and with the help of the locals he dug up and found the icon of Panagia Faneromeni. The Holy Monastery of Panagia Faneromeni in Salamina is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and is celebrated on August 23rd.
A Greek abacus known as the Salamis Tablet was found on the island of Salamina in 1846. The abacus is the first serious attempt by humans to create a calculating tool. It is considered the ancestor of the computer and was used to help its users remember their calculations. It was a kind of extension of the human memory. It dates back to around 3000 BC and it is estimated to be the oldest that has been found till date. Initially, it was considered to be a board game.

The focus on the raw material, the seasonality and the culinary talent of the chef make the restaurant “Psithyroi Gefseon” stand out. A PARADISE RISING FROM THE AZURE WATERS OF THE ARGOSARONIC GULF
Escape from reality to a world that combines tradition with luxury and refinement. We are referring, of course, to the beautiful island of Spetses, called ”Isole di Spezzie” by the Venetians, which means ”Island of Fragrances”. This lush green island stops time and transports us to a dream world of grandeur and authenticity. Welcome to the world of Spetses, where the diversity of cultures, the richness of nature and the love of art blend with a relaxed atmosphere and an infinite sense of freedom. The first image that greets you when you arrive on the island is the historic port and capital of the island, Dapia. You will immediately fall in love with its imposing neoclassical buildings, cobblestone streets and colorful flowers. Dapia was the gathering place for
nobles and captains during the Greek War of Independence in 1821. The picturesque port with its old arsenal and historical monuments impresses every visitor. On the right side of the port you will find the statue of Bouboulina and the majestic captain’s villas along the beach. As you move towards the left end of the island, you will see traditional carriages and the old port, a reminder of Spetses’ maritime heritage.

Rent an electric bike or scooter - cars are not allowed on the island - and take a one-hour tour around the pine forest of Spetses to see for yourself how vast it is. Along the way there are benches with views of the beaches and the neighboring island of Spetsopoula. Hikers will find an extensive network of trails, previously forgotten but rediscovered by locals during the quarantine period. It includes 19 routes with a total length of 65 km, offering the opportunity to explore the interior of an island with relatively low elevations (the highest peak reaches 290 m), but with lush Mediterranean nature.
As mentioned above, cars are banned on Spetses. The only means of transportation are walking, taxis, bicycles, buses and... horse-drawn carriages. Of course, it is not a mode of transportation that you can use every time you want to go somewhere, but it is essential to take a carriage ride around the island at least once.
Greek tradition reimagined
On an island that honors authenticity, Agios is much more than a historic restaurant – it’s an experience that’s been unfolding on every plate since 1977. With a steadfast commitment to local ingredients and the true flavors of Greece, its menu is a tribute to seasonality and the richness of the land. In the kitchen, chef Konstantina Tsianti brings creativity and respect to the local pantry, transforming familiar flavors into culinary revelations: beef cheeks with pappardelle, chicken kontosouvli, and the handmade, irresistible profiterole reflect a cuisine that gracefully balances tradition with a contemporary edge.
Agios doesn’t rely on nostalgia—it evolves. And that’s the flavor that lingers: authentic, essential, unforgettable.
SPETSES
ΑΡΜΑΤΑ - ARMATA Μια
A truly spectacular event with a touch of revolution takes place every September on the second Saturday of the month on the historic island of Spetses, culminating in the impressive re-enactment of the burning of a replica of the Turkish flagship. It is a cultural event that impresses spectators of all ages every year. But what’s its significance in Greek history? On September 8, 1822, Ypsilantis from the land and Bouboulina from the sea besieged one of the last points of resistance of the Turks, Palamidi in Nafplio. To strengthen their resistance, the Turks sent part of their fleet to destroy Hydra and Spetses as a diversion. They hoped that the threat to the islands would force the Greek forces to split. However, the Greeks did not move their forces from Palamidi, and the confrontation with the Turks was carried out by men from both islands. In preparation for their resistance, the Greeks evacuated the inhabitants of Spetses to Hydra, and only 60 brave men with captains Tsourpas, Lambrou, Kriezi and Koutsis remained on the island to face the Turkish fleet. After a long naval battle in the waters of Spetses, where the Turks had a clear numerical advantage, the Greeks, led by the Spetsiot fireboat captain Kosmas Barbatsis, managed to reach the Turkish flagship and set it on fire. The courageous action of the Greeks and the destruction of their flagship forced the Turks to retreat. The people of Spetses, believing that they had the help of Panagia (Virgin Mary) in their victory over the outnumbered Turks, gave the name ”Panagia Armata” to the chapel located in the port, and they celebrate it every year on September 8th.

The full menu offers a wide selection of Italian dishes, from perfectly cooked pastas to a variety of irresistible pizzas, all bursting with flavor. Whatever you choose to eat, make sure to pair it with a glass of wine or a signature cocktail, as the drink list is just as impressive as the food.

SPETSES
SIGHTSEEING
Every corner of Spetses has a story to tell. Some of the island’s must-see attractions include:
The historic square of Dapia in the port, an old artillery site and meeting place for captains and leaders of the 1821 revolution. Today it’s the hot spot of the island, where you can’t resist having at least one coffee while enjoying the view of the cannons used by the Spetses fighters during the 1821 war.
The house of Hatzigiannis Mexis, the first governor and benefactor of Spetses, which now houses the Museum of Spetses. Since 1939 it has served as an archaeological, historical and folklore collection, with treasures from the revolution, letters from Kolokotronis and Athanasios Diakos, and the bones of Bouboulina.
The Bouboulina Mansion, with its unique carved ceiling in the Great Hall, has been renovated and has been functioning as a museum since 1992. Visitors can take a guided tour to learn about the life and work of Bouboulina while viewing artifacts from the Greek Revolution, personal items of the heroine, and other remarkable exhibits.
The two-storey neoclassical stone house of Spetses benefactor Sotirios Anargyros. This magnificent architectural jewel of the island has a neoclassical rhythm and two Egyptian sphinxes that dominate the entrance. It stands out for the quality of its composition and construction. Today it houses the cultural center of Spetses.
The Poseidonion Hotel, the vision of the philanthro-
pist Sotirios Anargyros, who contributed significantly to the development of Spetses. Located in Bouboulina Square, the Poseidonion Grand Hotel opened its doors for the first time in the summer of 1914, adding cosmopolitan splendor to the island.
The Anargyreios Korgialeneios School, founded in 1927. Its exceptional facilities cover an area of 130 acres, including a private olive grove and an additional 9,000 acres of private forest. It consists of five main buildings, four of which serve as dormitories, while the central 5,500-square-foot building houses auditoriums, conference and classrooms, a press room, workshops, a restaurant, and more. There is also an open-air theater, modeled on the ancient theater, for cultural events, a beach with water sports, and various sports facilities.
The Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1793 on the highest point of the town, with its magnificent carved wooden iconostasis depicting the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.
The Chapel of Panagia Armata, built after the victory of the forces of Spetses, Hydra and Psara against the Turks on September 8, 1822.
The Bekiri cave, an ancient refuge for the fighters, located in Agii Anargyri, at the back of the island, where the ancient inhabitants of Spetses used to hide women and children during the period of Turkish rule.
The old port, with its traditional shipyards that have been preserved to this day, handing down the secrets of boat building from generation to generation.

Æ Below the ancient Xenia of Spetses in Scholes, we find a very small peaceful pebble beach (it also has a mole for boat access), while the seabed is rocky.
Æ From the top of the bay you can see the beautiful beach of Tsakona on your left. From the peripheral road, a path leads to this secluded pebble beach with a rocky seabed in about five minutes.
A Journey Through Authentic Greek Cuisine
In one of the most authentic corners of Spetses, in Kokkinaria, Pachni by Thomas and Niki Thymara is not just a traditional taverna — it’s a journey of taste and memory that spans over two decades. With Greek cuisine taking center stage and a foundation of fresh, high-quality ingredients, here tradition isn’t a thing of the past. It’s both present and future. The vegetables are organically grown by the owners themselves and the olive oil is of their own production. The food evokes memories: from slow-cooked, traditional dishes to Mrs. Niki’s homemade spoon sweets that offer the perfect closing note to every meal — and leave a lasting impression.
Six decades of authentic Greek tastes!
For over 60 years, Tzortzis, the traditional restaurant in Spetses, has been serving authentic Greek cuisine with passion and consistency, earning a special place in the hearts of its guests. From succulent lobster pasta and fresh fish to crispy calamari, slow-cooked stews, and grilled-to-order meats, every dish is a flavorful journey through Greek culinary tradition. In a warm, familyfriendly atmosphere, filled with aromas, smiles, and heartfelt hospitality, every meal becomes a meaningful experience. Traditional recipes, passed down from generation to generation, come to life daily at your table, accompanied by a glass of local wine and why not, live music, just as the Greek spirit commands.

MONASTERY OF ZOURVA
Put on your sportswear and get ready for a breathtaking route to the Monastery of Zourva. From there, in clear weather, you can admire the magnificent view of Athens. Locals told us that your view reaches all the way to the ridges of Milos, you'll discover the monastery's library and find that it was worth the approximately... three-hour walk.
- PROPHET ELIAS
On a Saturday close to the date of June 21st of every year, the "lady of the Saronic Gulf" puts on some pretty spectacular events during Miaoulia Festival. The big finale is the burning of a large frigate. This is one of the most beautiful events in the Saronic Gulf, dedicated to the actions of Admiral Andreas Miaoulis. If you happen to be on the island on that day, you'll remember it for years to come!
As you climb Prophet Elias, you'll see the monastery, a famous landmark. The path ends in a cobbled street with steps to the monastery gate, where a mosaic of Prophet Elias dominates. Highlights include old icons, a carved wooden iconostasis and a rich library. In the courtyard, there is a cistern, a threshing floor and stables. During the 1821 Revolution, the monastery was used as a prison, holding Theodoros Kolokotronis.
The Holy Crust!
It’s a spot where French finesse meets Mediterranean light and the authentic spirit of Hydra. Croissaint is a modern microbakery where croissant is treated with almost ritualistic devotion. The result? Fluffy, golden, irresistibly buttery croissants made with refined technique. While the classic butter croissant takes center stage, the sweet and savory variations — filled with chocolate, cheese, or cured meats — bring their own personality to the table. Equally outstanding are the handmade sourdough focaccias and the rest of the baked goods, made fresh every day using top-quality ingredients. Specialty coffee rounds out the experience in a place that has already become a daily go-to for those in search of small yet memorable pleasures in Hydra.
