David Horowitz speaks on dangers of identity politics Derek Danneker

Editor-in-Chief ddd4907@lockhaven.edu There is a political civil war raging over control of the U.S. presidency, says David Horowitz, conservative writer and founder of the David Horowitz Freedom center, to an audience of about 100 students, faculty and community members in Lock Haven University’s Parson Union Building, Monday.

Four armed policemen and a personal bodyguard gave security during Horowitz’s speech entitled “identity politics are dangerous and totalitarian.”

“Every person in this room has had a moment where they want to snuff out somebody who disagrees with them, it’s a normal human feeling. Fortunately, we don’t act on it,” said Horowitz. “We have respect for the electoral process and we understand that if the other person wins, we have the next few years to organize.”

However, Horowitz says the type of scrutiny surrounding President Donald Trump- a duly elected president, according to Horowitz- was last seen when Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1860.

Horowitz says presidents are traditionally given a “honeymoon” period, a time of around 7 months where they enjoy increased public opinion.

“Donald Trump didn’t get 7 seconds, they were already talking about impeaching him,” said Horowitz. “America has a tradition, we’re about compromise because our view are so different. In other countries, people are at each other’s throats.”

The reason for this divide, is due to identity politics, which is re-

ally an informal term for cultural marxism, says Horowitz. Cultural marxism is the division of people into oppressors and the oppressed, within the historical context, by their race, sexual-orientation and gender. Then prioritizing the those oppressed people’s feelings and socioeconomic standing.

Particularly, Horowitz says, cultural marxism is found in the education system and he lamented Lock Haven University for its lack of conservative professors.

“That doesn’t happen by accident and it robs you of having a decent education, you have to hear both sides of any controversial issue and every issue that you are presented,” said Horowitz. “So even if you have well meaning leftists, you still are being indoctrinated and deprived of an education.”

A philosophy which stigmatizes people based on their race, their skin color, their ethnic identity, their origin cannot co-exist with a free country, says Horowitz.

Horowitz explained that the founders and the writers of the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence created a remarkable new political formation where the goal was to give all people individual and equal rights because all are equal under God or Nature’s God. It was only due to the slow change of human nature that allowed slavery to continue for another 200 years.

“The attacks on America begin with saying that its built on slavery and racism, that we are a white supremacist culture which is ludacris in this day and age,”said Horowitz. “We had President Barack Obama, who was black, 56 percent of voting white people voted for him,” said Horowitz, “This has never happened in a majority black country or a majority Asian country.”

Historically, Horowitz said,“Slavery existed for 3000 years, and no one said it was immoral until [William] Wilberforce, a white Christian male in England, and Thomas Jefferson wrote it into the Declaration of Independence.”

Horowitz calls it “truly remarkable” that 87 years after the signing of the Constitution, The U.S. voted to the end the slave trade which was inherited through England.

“Slavery existed in Africa for a thousand years before a white person ever set foot there. White people, Europeans and the English didn’t go over to africa and throw nets over black people, they bought slaves at slave markets organized by black African kings and slavers,” said Horowitz.

Today, Horowitz says, anyone that uses the term white supremacy to describe the U.S. either belongs in a mental institution or is consumed by hatred, and is not looking at the reality.

But, Leftists, who push the this white supremacist narrative, invent words and phrases to push their political agenda, such as “people of color’’ says Horowitz “Notice that that’s not even english. Is it? Unless there’s someone in this room who says, ‘here’s a box of crayons of color, or I’ve got a television of color.’ It’s French, it’s the way the French talk,” said Horowitz. ”Its an ideological term, invented by leftists. Who are racists. It’s designed to do one thing. The whole world is people of color, except or guess who? White people.”

Horowitz explains the problem is that when you look at people’s color or their ethnic origin, or their gender, is that you lose sight of the individual, whole idea of our founding and that we’re all God’s creatures.

Martin Littleton, a senior Political Science major, was unimpressed with much of what Horowitz had to say.

“I would certainly describe Horowitz as divisive, frankly there were a few points in his presentation where I struggled to believe what I was hearing,” said Littleton.

Kimberly Johnson, professor of sociology at LHU and advisor to YAL, says Horowitz speech is apart of the learning process and good for students to hear, even as a contrary opinion.

“Students listen to divisive statements everyday on campus.” said Johnson. “I think it speaks well of LHU to permit viewpoint diversity on campus.”

The goal behind inviting David Horowitz, says Noah Ellison, president of YAL, is to build Lock Haven University’s speaker credibility and as a place where controversial issues can be discussed.

“We really want to encourage civil discourse, which doesn’t happen on a consistent basis on this campus,” said Ellison. “We want students to consider these issues.”

Horowitz spent much of his youth as a self-identified Marxist, as he graduated in the 1960s with a Masters in English Literature from University of California at Berkeley. He later worked for the Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation.

Through the 1970s, Horowitz changed his ideological alignment and began writing about his conservatives views in 1985.

Horowitz now attacks political bias on college campuses and identitarians.

Lock Haven University hosts Accepted Students Day Mia Swales

Sports Editor mxs3279@lockhaven.edu Lock Haven University welcomed the class of 2022 Saturday for Accepted Students Day Spring Fling Carnival. Hundreds of students gathered to get a feel for Lock Haven’s campus.

Accepted Students Day allows for students to get a deeper feel for campus and to socially interact with each other and students already at the university.

A slew of university club members gathered to host games for the Class of ‘22.

This allowed new students to not only meet other new people but also get acquainted with students already here at the university.

This also allowed university club members to promote their organizations. This lets incoming college students ease their way into college by getting started by engaging with extracurricular activities and socially.

Accepted Students Day also offered food and a taste of Lock Haven’s apparel, as

the new students all wore the same shirt in unison.

The class of ‘22 even got the opportunity to witness the football team’s annual Crimson and White game.

Accepted Students Day is a exceptional way for future students to get a taste of the college experience and make connections with people for an easy transition from high school to college. The university welcomed the new students into the nest of the Haven and encouraged them to begin spreading its wings.

Reptiland presents at Earth Day Festival Mark Matthews

Copyeditor mjm2923@lockhaven.edu The LHU Biology Club showcased their talents at the Student Recreation Center on March 22. The event was called the “Earth Day Festival,” and the main purpose was to celebrate the Earth and its amazing creations.

This event on campus was originally started

by Dr. Shonah Hunter in 1990, which was 20 years after the first earth day occurred in 1970.

The festival gave a voice to the up-and-coming consciousness of environmentally minded students. The Biology Club has hosted this celebration every year since 1990. That means this festivity has existed for an astonishing 28 years!

The Recreation Center was covered with a vast number of stations hosted by LHU students.

They offered opportunities to plant a flower, paint a pot, and learn about owl pellets, mammals, birds, and invertebrates. People could also engage in face painting, crafts, an oobleck pool, and a bouncy house.

The oobleck pool was made out of corn starch and water. Guests were allowed to put their hands in the sample and watch them sink, making it look like they stuck their hands in quicksand.

The bouncy house provided visitors with an exhilarating experience. It was called “Adrenaline Rush II,” which involved many obstacles and a way to raise your heartbeat.

Later on in the day’s activities, there was a guest speaker who was a Biology graduate of LHU. Justin Elchnyski, an employee for Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland of the last two years, put on an animal show for the audience. Using a rainforest theme, Elchynski displayed a variety

of different animal species that the audience would not usually get the opportunity to view in person. At the end of the show, visitors were invited to touch the animals.

Perceptions of Hip-Hop and Rap Evannah Phan Arts and Entertainment Editor Etp7162@lockhaven.edu “Hip-hop has done more damage to young African Americans than racism in recent years.” – Fox News Analyst Geraldo Rivera. This opinion by Geraldo Rivera is seemingly shared amongst many people.

The question that needs to be asked is whether or not this sentiment has any truth to it?

In 2008, 71 percent of the U.S. public thought that rap music had a negative societal impact, according to the Pew Research Center. I agree, in some regard, and can see how some rap songs promote dangerous and reckless behavior like substance abuse and violence. There are some rap artists that produce music that laud illegal activity, and admitted that they only do so because it sells millions of copies in the American general public. Even though they be known for their seemingly thuggish lyrics, they are just trying to generate a revenue to produce what people want to hear.

I do not think that rappers are purposely trying to set a poor example to America’s youth, they simply are just trying to earn money as any other professional. Furthermore, many rappers and hip-hop artists come from areas of poverty and realize that if they do not seize the opportunity to make music that sells while they have to ability to do so, they may never get another chance.

The music business is constantly evolving and changing because of its’ cutthroat industry mentality.

Nevertheless, rappers do speak up about systemic and structural issues within the American society that lead to the problems we may still see today in black communities. Kendrick La-

mar, a rapper who recently just won a Pulitzer Prize for his album “DAMN.” beautifully uses his voice to weave through the complexity and sensitive nature of religion, politics, black culture and personal relationships. This was the first music Pulitzer to ever be rewarded to a hip-hop album and was distinctly different from the other musical works that were awarded in the past. He even included Geraldo Rivera’s quote in the beginning of one of his songs on the album “DAMN.” to address the criticism that hip-hop and rap music commonly receives.

In “Nothin New,” 21 Savage said, “Shit gettin’ outrageous / Treat us like slaves then they lock us up in cages / Young, black, poor, ain’t had a father since a baby / Why you think we skip school and hang out on the pavement?” In these lyrics, he addresses the extremely disproportionate rates of African American incarcerations and to speak out about other issues that constantly surround impoverished black communities.

In Meek Mill’s album “Wins and Losses” he weighs in on the quality of education in impoverished black communities, which prolongs the cycle of systemic oppression. In Wale’s “Ambition,” in which Meek Mill is also featured, he recalls his past life where he had an illicit lifestyle.

Yet he also rationalizes it, saying, “Only hope I had was selling dope / Was on my grind cause times was harder than a cellar floor.” He argues that lack of economic opportunity pushes many African Americans in impoverished communities toward illegal activity.

To argue that hip-hop has harmed black people more than modern racism is to ignore these messages and discredits the strides that are being made in the black community. Though some songs do glorify illegal activity that is disproportionately found at alarmingly high rates in low income black communities, plenty of songs lament these issues and critique their causes. Many songs that highlight issues in the black community are exceptionally popular, which indicates that these messages are heard, if not always widely understood.

J. Cole’s Return to Music Mia Swales Staff Writer Mxs3279@lockhaven.edu Dreamville is back!! J. Cole announced to Twitter on April 16 that he’d drop his new album KOD on April 20. The day before his album came out he said, “KOD. 3 meanings. Kids on Drugs, King Overdosed, Kill Our Demons. The rest of the album I leave to your interpretation.”

J. Cole put his wisdom and real world problems in this album. In his song Photograph he hit on the lust for technology and social media. Fall in love with people through the internet, a “photograph.” This is an example of the reality of today’s society and how people interact. In FRIENDS, Cole hits on addiction and the use of drugs and what may be to blame. He states, “They poppin pills through the chronic anxiety… without the drugs I want you to be comfortable in your skin I know you so I know you still keep a lot of…. in you running from yourself…”

J.Cole has reportedly been compared to Drake and Kendrick Lamar but the reality is they’re all different artists with different ideas and different styles.

Not everyone has appreciated Cole’s views and way of addressing the government, Black America, drug addiction, and the way others take advantage and use the next man.

As J. Cole said in FRIENDS, “I understand this message isn’t the coolest to say but if you down to try it I know of a better way… meditate… meditate don’t medicate.” That verse can go deeper than his point of view of kids and adults on drugs, it goes with every idea in his album. It may not be cool but this is what it is. Drugs are a problem, meditating may help, people have demons… meditate. Don’t suppress your thoughts and feelings with drugs. Meditate and take it easy. For some it may take a little bit to appreciate his message and his idea of reality.

Running is more than a sport Mark Matthews Copyeditor mjm2923@lockhaven.edu Running for miles and miles requires a lot of physical excursion, but it there is a mental aspect of it as well. It varies among different individuals, however.

Some people mentally struggle for a mile, 5 miles, or even a whole marathon. It depends on their physical fitness. Either way, it can do wonders to your mental health.

In regards to my own experiences with anxiety and depression, I’ve

founded running as a tool and therapy for my struggles. It allows me to receive a feeling of freedom.

It allows us to go out and explore the outside world, rather than spending the majority of our times indoors. There is a statistic aspect of it as well. A survey performed by the England Athletics says that 74 percent of runners experience an improvement in their mental health.

There is a science aspect to it as well. The information from cigna. com states that the chemicals released during runs and after can help people calm down with anxiety disorders.

Cardiovascular exercise can generate new brain cells and improve brain performance. It can also help with decision making, higher thinking and learning. In the end, running is a therapy to people especially if they have something going on in their lives and it gives them a new light.

The magic of coconut oil Bethany Barrett

Lifestyles Editor bcb8301@lockhaven.edu If you haven’t yet used coconut oil for its health and beauty benefits, now is the time. Coconut oil and its abilities seem to be absolute magic when it comes to skin and hair.

From a deep conditioner to a substitute for shaving cream, coconut oil will not disappoint you.

As a Deep Conditioner Set a glass bowl in a pan of water on the stove. Inside the bowl put a couple scoops of coconut oil. Let the water come to a boil, or until the coconut oil becomes liquid.

Let the coconut oil cool off for a couple of minutes, and then put it through your hair, starting at the ends. You should leave it on for at least thirty minutes, and then wash your hair with your normal shampoo and conditioner.

This will smooth out your hair, and make it shine without looking greasy.

As Body Butter Coconut oil is one of the best natural moisturizers for skin. Although it only works for certain face skin types, it is a great body moisturizer.

This is best to put on skin after a shower, and before you go to sleep.

This lets the coconut oil fully set in for smoother feeling and brighter looking skin.

Body Scrub If you add coconut oil to any natural exfoliant, it makes for a perfect body scrub. Sugar, coffee, oatmeal are all natural exfoliants. This will also work for certain skin types on the face.

Shaving Cream The coconut oil does not need to be heated up for this. In fact, its best if you use chunks of solid coconut oil. On contact with your skin, it will turn to liquid. If not, you can warm it up within your palms so that it is easier to apply.

Once you are done shaving your legs, you will notice that the coconut oil leaves your skin much softer and smoother than shaving cream.

This is worth the try.

Deodorant Deodorant can be filled with toxic chemicals for your body. Therefore, it may be helpful to try coconut oil. Coconut oil is a natural antibacterial and can help to protect against odor-causing bacteria.

These uses, and many others are some simple ways in which coconut oil can improve the health and beauty of your skin and hair. Coconut oil is 100 percent natural, cheap, and has endless amounts of benefits.

12 OPINION Science cannot exist without God: Michael Suderman presents “Does God Exist?”

rab484@lockhaven.edu Atheists and believers both gathered for the “Does God Exist?” presentation at Lock Haven University on Monday night. Religious speaker Michael Suderman addressed a crowd of about 200 with reasons and explanations on why people should believe in God. “I respect the journey that maybe some of you are on, and I encourage you to ask yourself some honest questions,” Suderman said. “Tonight, I hope I can provide to you a framework and good reasons to consider God’s existence. He is not just a concept, he is real.”

Science and religion are usually juxtaposed when spoken about, but Suderman explained that they go hand in hand.

“The fact that we can do and understand science is one of the biggest reasons I believe in God,” he said. “If there is no God, science doesn’t make sense. Rationality needs an explanation and atheism cannot give that to you.”

He then listed many brilliant scientists who all believed in God: Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo, Descartes, Newton, and Mendel.

“All of them are giants in modern science,” Suderman said.

Their belief in God served as the launchpad for their studies.”

He explained that these men were scientists because they observed law in nature, and they knew there were laws because they believed in a law-giver; God. Suderman also explained the

way our universe was created, and noted the flaws in other theories about its origin.

“It’s an age old question: Why is there something rather than nothing at all?” Suderman stated.

“When people start to think about their mortality and the purpose of life, they often find themselves thinking about the creation of our existence.”

“It’s a widely held concept in physics and cosmology that nothing can explain its own existence,” said Suderman. “If we answered every question about origin, it would take us back to the beginning of the universe. All natural things are dependent on some other natural thing.”

There are three theories about how the universe started. The first is that it has always existed and never had a beginning. “The problem with that is,” Suderman said, “if the universe has existed eternally, there’s no way to explain that in terms of science.”

The second explanation is that our universe had a beginning, but it was spurred on by another universe prior to it, and there are an infinite series of universes. Suderman pointed out the flaw in this: “If there’s an infinite series of dominoes in the past, and somebody tips one of those dominoes, we would never arrive at the present.”

Suderman said the universe had a beginning because something started it, what Aristotle called an unmoved mover; or God to Suderman.

The second idea Suderman presented was that all humans have moral intuition, which he

believes comes from God. He also said that there’s a fault in rationalization and the belief of evolution together. “If the brain is a product of time and chance,

why should you trust it? If it’s a product of evolution, it’s geared toward survival, and why would you trust it?” continued on pg. 13

“Science cannot” continued...

Michael Suderman was born in the small Christian town of Hillsboro, Ark. “It was very easy to slip into the patterns of a culture and community where Christianity was the dominate social pattern,” he said.

Christians had a social advantage because they were understood and rarely challenged, but when Suderman traveled to India at age 19, he realized, “I really had no personal ownership of my belief. I really had inherited what seemed like a custom, or sort of a culture of kindness.”

In India, he found his own pathway of belief that led him right back to God. “I talked to as many people as I could in different belief systems,” Suderman said. “Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, new-aged thinkers. I walked through clouds of incense and felt the beating of ritual drums in my chest.”

“I immersed myself in argument in the spiritual places of the world,” Suderman continued, “and the reality is, when the dust settled for me, I was looking at Jesus again.”

He graduated from Tabor College in Kansas with two bachelor’s degrees: one in philosophy and one in biblical and religious studies to increase his knowledge about religion. Suderman furthered his education at the University of Oxford, where he received a Masters in Theology.

“It was burdened on my heart to come to an understanding of what it was I believed in and if truth exists, I wanted to know myself,” he said.

After giving his thoughts about God, he answered questions

from the crowd.

David McCurdy, a junior social work major asked about predisposition and free will: “If God is all-knowing, then he would have to know whether we’re going to heaven or hell before we’re born.”

Suderman said God does know where our afterlife will be spent, but we’re also given free will.

“God knew Eve chose sin. But if

there was no choice, there would be no love. Love is not coerced.

Love must be chosen,” he explained.

Now a part of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM), Suderman travels the world and shares his love of God, and God’s love for people. RZIM’s website says their main mission is “to reach and challenge those who shape the ideas of a culture with

the credibility of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

“Christianity is particularly compelling,” Suderman said. “If God exists, then we’re bound to

think about who he is. We can only know as far as how much that God has made himself known,” he said. “Jesus is a great place to go.”

Athletes of the week Scott Davern

Track & Field Doug Spatafore Sports Information Director dpatafo@lockhvaen.edu Scott Davern of the LHU men’s track & field team has been named this week’s Susquehanna Trailways/GoLHU.com Men’s Athlete of the Week.

Last weekend, Davern and the Bald Eagles competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University where Davern ran to two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship qualification times.

In the 800-meter run, Davern finished 12th and was the second fastest Division II runner as he crossed the line in a time of 1:56.72. In the 1,500-meter run, he clocked a time of 4:03.56 as he placed eighth overall and was the third DII runner to cross the line.

Softball Doug Spatafore Sports Information Director dpatafo@lockhvaen.edu Casey Carpenter of the LHU Softball team has been named this week’s Susquehanna Trailways/GoLHU.com Female Athlete of the Week.

Carpenter led the Bald Eagle softball team to a 7-1 record including a 6-0 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central record.

In all, Carpenter hit .444 with a .889 slugging percentage. She drove in 12 RBI’s on 12 hits including three home runs.

She had at least two hits in four games including a four hit, four RBI game at Mansfield. In that game she also slugged two home runs. In the second game of the doubleheader at Indiana (Pa.) she hit in three RBI’s while also hitting a home run.

Last week LHU clinched the PSAC Central Championships as they are 16-0 in conference play.

Football closes season with crimson and white game Samantha Wilson slw2547@lockhaven.edu Guest Writer The White (offense) team defeated the Crimson (defense) with a final score of 66 to 28 to cap off the Bald Eagles spring football season this past Saturday.

Redshirt junior quarterback, Cam Tobias, led the offense with 307 passing yards, completing 17 of 20 passes on the day. Ethan Persa, soon-to-be redshirt freshman quarterback, threw 9 for 11 with 207 yards and one touchdown.

“We took the green jersey off a couple guys to see how they could run the ball and

if they could handle getting hit,” said Head Coach, David Taynor. “As much as I would have loved to have Kyle (Knight) out there, this was a good opportunity for the other quarterbacks to get reps.”

Knight ended the 2017 season as the Bald Eagles starting quarterback, despite being freshman. He was unable to play Saturday, due to a sprained ankle.

Mike Cottom, freshman, led the receiving core with a total of 130 yards on four receptions, including a 98 yard touchdown run.

While redshirt freshman, Chantz Swartz, rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns.

Obadiah Asare, freshman, led the Crimson team with a total of 10 tackles with 3.5 tackles for a loss of yardage and 1.5 sacks.

Coach Taynor said he saw a lot that impressed him throughout the spring season, saying, “The biggest thing you learn from is repetition. Spring ball gives you an opportunity where you can get better, and I saw that in a lot of guys.”

Scoring for the game allowed the offense to earn six points for a touchdown, two points for a two-point conversion and one point for every first down. While the defense could earn two points for a safety, three points for going three and out, one point for every stop in the red zone and five points for a turnover.

The Bald Eagles kick off their 2018 season at Duquesne University on September 1.

Pitching powers Bald Eagles to sweep of Goldey-Beacom Doug Spatafore Sports Information Director dpatafo@lockhvaen.edu LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Pitchers Bekah Slattery (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone) and Kayla Gee (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) threw back-to-back gems and the Lock Haven University softball team swept visiting GoldeyBeacom College (3-30) today in non-conference action.

Lock Haven won game one, 2-0, behind Slattery’s one-hitter and LHU took game two, 6-0, behind a two-hitter from Gee. With the sweep, the Bald Eagles hit the 30-win mark and improved to 30-10 overall. The pair of wins also ran LHU’s most recent win streak to eight and helped Lock Haven remain perfect at home in 2018 (12-0).

Saturday’s (April 21) sweep of IUP helped Lock Haven move to a perfect 16-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action. At 16-0, LHU clinched the PSAC Central regular season title over the weekend.

GAME 1: W, 2-0 Slattery was the biggest story in game one. She struck out 13 and outdueled GBC-pitcher Taylor Beres in a game that took just one hour. Slattery was masterful and allowed just one hit in the first inning.

Moriah Lindsey (Woolrich, Pa./Central Mountain) had two of LHU’s

five game-one hits and Amanda Loar’s (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) RBI-single in the third made it 2-0.

GAME 2: W, 6-0 In game two, the bats backed up Gee’s outstanding effort from the circle. Gee struck out nine and scattered two hits after taking the no-hitter into the sixth inning.

The bats produced six runs on 12 hits. Loar was 2 for 3 and Casey Carpenter (Spring Brook, Pa./North Pocono) was 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Stefanie O’Grady (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) was 2 for 2 at the plate.

Lock Haven jumped all over GBC early and plated four runs in the bottom of the first inning SCHEDULE CHANGE: LHU’s makeup-doubleheader tentatively scheduled for Wednesday (April 25) at Shippensburg University has officially been cancelled. The games will not be made up.

UP NEXT: Lock Haven will travel to Clarion University on Friday, April 27 for a PSAC Central doubleheader (2:30/4:30 p.m.).

Saturday (April 28), the Bald Eagles will host Mansfield University in LHU’s 2018 Senior Day DH (1/3 p.m.).

Baseball drops doubleheader at Bloomsburg Doug Spatafore Sports Information Director dpatafo@lockhvaen.edu BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (20-13, 10-10 PSAC East) fell to Bloomsburg University (25-9, 15-5 PSAC East) 15-8 and 6-5 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action Saturday at Bloomsburg.

LHU and Bloom split the four game series this weekend with each team winning two games at their respective fields.

GAME 1: L, 15-8

The Bald Eagles fell in a game one slugfest, 15-8.

Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College) led the LHU offense, going 2-4 at the plate with a double, a run scored and three RBIs. Liam McArthur (Basking Ridge, N.J./Seton Hall) and Kolby Dehaas (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho/ Wenatchee Valley C.C.) also had two hits apiece.

McArthur went 2-4 with a run scored while DeHaas went 2-3 with two RBIs in the game.

Cayden Stover (Beech Creek, Pa./Chesapeake College) added two runs scored and an RBI while Ethan Moore (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) and Justin Sleigh (Dubois, Pa./Dubois) each added RBIs of their own.

GAME 2: L, 6-5

The Huskies were able to edge out the Bald Eagles in game two, 6-5.

Stotler once again led the Lock Haven offense, going 3-4 at the plate with a double, a run scored and two RBIs. McArthur went 2-3 at the dish with two runs scored while Keyshawn D’Orso (Pittsburgh/Mercyhurst North East C.C.) added two RBIs for LHU. Stover added a single to go along with his two runs scored and an RBI. UP NEXT: Lock Haven will host Millersville on Friday, April 27 in a PSAC East doubleheader. The first game of that series is set for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch.
