11/08/19 Smith Hall Alarm -trouble alarm activated. Officer responded and checked room everything appeared to be okay. 11/08/19 Fairview Suites Report of odor of marijuana. Officer responded and unable to detect an odor. 11/08/19 Woolridge Hall Officer received a report from a student who felt they were being threatened. 11/09/19 Off Campus Officer assisted another department in locating an intoxicated individual in need of medical asistance. Individual located. 11/10/19 Off Campus Assisted LHPD with Traffic Stop for possible DUI. Suspect Arrested for DUI and upon further investigation was found to have a Warrant for weapons charge. 11/10/19 Bently Hall Fire Alarm sounded due to maintenance issue. Issue resolved and alarm was reset. 11/10/19 Faireview Suites Fire Alarm sounded in room. Search of room resulted in negative findings. No sign of smoke or fire within vicinity. Alarm reset.
11/10/19 Faireview Suites Report of Criminal Mischief To LHU property. Further investigation resulted in case being closed due to lack of evidence and all leads exhausted 11/10/19 Faireview Suites Disorderly Conduct-Report of fight in progress. Officer responded. All parties were GOA. Officer followed up and informed individuals involved that citations would be issued if the dispute continued. 11/11/19 On Campus Individual transported to hospital for mental health evaluation. 11/11/19 On Campus Report of disturbance in classroom. Officer was stationed near classroom for security purposes. 11/12/19 Fairview Suites Officer assisted another department in locating student. 11/12/19 On Campus Officer responded to 711 call with negative results. While searching for person that made the call he was advised of an individual that was upset and needed assistance. He spoke to individual and informed them about counseling services. They agreed to speak with counselor. Case Closed.
11/13/19 West Fourth Street Traffic Stop for obstructed windshield. Written Warning issued. 11/13/19 Off Campus Report of an assault. Officer attempted to make contact with victim with negative results. Nothing further at this time. 11/14/19 Himes Hall Medical call for person unconscious. Ambulance was dispatched and person refused treatment when they arrived. Vitals were checked via athletic trainer. Individuals vitals were good. 11/14/19 Off Campus Assisted other department with directing traffic for structure fire. 11/15/19 Smith Hall Reported odor of marijuana. A clear plastic baggie located in restroom had an odor of marijuana in it. Check of area was unfounded. Photo taken of baggie and entered into property log. Case closed. 11/15/19 Bentley Hall Medical call for person with sprained ankle. Individual was picked up by parent.

Nov. 21, 2019 Cassandra Keller Managing Editor cmk2356@lockhaven.edu The Stevenson Library at Lock Haven University celebrated its 50th anniversary on Nov. 18. To celebrate this milestone, the library staff held an open house event with a scavenger hunt for 49 silver tickets and one golden ticket. Prizes were given to winners that found the tickets. The scavenger hunt is still going on, so students can still look for the silver ticket and claim a prize. The event also incluced refeshments and desplays from the library archives that was open to students and the Lock Haven comunity.

Disney+ review
Kristin Turner Staff Writer kat5346@lockhaven.edu Disney+ was released on November 12, 2019 and had 10 million subscribers last week. Disney has projected that they will get between 60 million to 90 million subscribers worldwide by 2024. I subscribed to Disney+ on Wednesday last week and I am pleased with what they have. They have most of the classic Disney shows like “Lizzie McGuire,” “Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” “Good Luck Charlie,” “Shake It Up,” “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Boy Meets World,” “Girl Meets World” and “Kim Possible.” I enjoy watching “Lizzie McGuire,” “Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” “Girl Meets World,” and “Boy Meets World,” the most so far. They have some new stuff too like “Noelle,” the live-action version of “Lady and the Tramp,” “High School Musical: The Series,” and “Encore!” Disney+ has classic Disney movies like “The Jungle Book,” “Cinderella,” “Aladdin,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “The Rescuers.” They have the Disney shorts as well like “Bao,” “Boundin’” and “Steamboat Willie.” They have classic sports movies like “The
Game Plan,” “The Sandlot,” “Rookie of the Year,” and “Motorcrossed.” Every Disney+ account is allowed up to four devices at the same time and can create seven profiles for different members of the household. Each account can pick an avatar from Disney, Pixar, Marvel or Star Wars, which is a great feature. Disney+ also allows you to download any of its content on your device so you can watch it anywhere offline. Disney+ has movies and TV shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. Disney has said that they are taking their stuff off of Netflix to create their own streaming site where everything owned by Disney will be available to fans with a touch of a button. Although Disney+ has a lot of content now, they will be adding more stuff between November 29, 2019 and November 18, 2021. I love how Disney+ has family-friendly content only and does not have anything that is nasty, graphic or too incredibly violent.

None of your concern? Tiana Gair A&E Editor teg5895@lockhaven.edu Jhene Aiko blessed her fan base with another heart-wrenching song ‘None of Your Concern’ on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019. The song was accompanied with a visual that is set in Hawaii. Aiko describes the end of a relationship and the confusion that comes with all break-ups. The single was unexpected but well-received by fans. ‘None of Your Concern’ features Aiko’s very public ex, Big Sean, and includes vocals from Ty Dolla $ign. This single is more of what Aiko is great at: raw emotions sung beautifully over a calming beat. Many speculate that this song is a preview of Aiko and Sean’s break-up. Both describe in their respective verses how they want “the best” for each other
moving forward. Sean even touches on why they broke up in his verse by addressing the mental health issues that he has been opening up about publicly in the recent months. Aiko has been dropping singles about her and Sean’s split since late 2018, including ‘Wasted Love Freestyle,’ ‘Triggered (Freestyle),’ and ‘Trigger Protection Mantra.’ She’s also featured on Summer Walker’s latest album, ‘Over It,’ on the song “I’ll Kill You,” and on one of Big Sean’s latest songs, “Single Again.” Aiko has hinted at an album coming sooner than later, both on her social media and in some interviews. Thanksgiving is a time of eating, saying thanks, and spending quality time with family. However, during Thanksgiving there are a few stereotypical relatives that make the worst and best of the holiday. The snobby aunt: She not only thinks she’s better than anyone but throughout the whole dinner she makes it known that she’s better than everyone. She makes snide remarks about what you’re wearing or who you’re currently dating. If she has kids, she will brag about their achievements, and if she is single, she brags about how great life is without them. She never leaves the house without anything expensive or name brands. A positive side to her is that she will always give her nieces and nephews money. The uncle who you rarely see, but always gives you money: You never see him at your birthday parties, graduations, or even at the holiday dinner parties. He’s basically a ghost until he remembers that he has a family, and has to see them at some point. These uncles will apologize for forgetting your events, and to make it up to you, they give you a twenty or fifty. If they are cheap you will at least get a dollar or five. The bad younger cousins: They terrorize the family pet, and they will irritate you. They will ask you dumb questions over and over until they find someone else to annoy. The relative you don’t know but will ask you if you know them anyways: They are usually older than you from around your parents age up to your grandparents. They usually say, “I remember when I used to change your diapers”. Or sometimes they say, “You probably don’t know me, but I know you” making things kinda awkward.
The older relative who does not mind their own business: They must know what everyone in the family is doing with their lives. They will ask you if you are dating someone or will want to know the reason why you are single still. They ask questions about school like how things are going with your grades. They ask questions about your job, and what your pay is. The uncle that always causes a scene: This uncle stereotypically is either a drunk or just haves a terrible personality. They always cause a fight or argument over something dumb that happened a few years back or for something as small as someone taking the last slice of pie. This usually happens when alcohol is consumed. No one really likes them and wonders who invited them, but because they are family you put up with them anyways. The sad relative: They are usually going through something; a breakup, a divorce, or lost their job. They will make it known to everyone and will keep talking about it until the family dinner or gathering is over. At first you sympathize for them, then after a couple hours you wish they would shut up about it. The relatives who hate each other: They refuse to talk to each other or even make eye contact. When the other leaves the room, the relative will talk behind their back by making shady remarks about them. Their fight is usually something minuscule like money. The relative who takes too many platters home: Once they have seen that everyone has eaten or made a plate; they will start making platters for when they go home. They do not care how much food they are taking and will only fend for themselves and their family. These relatives will take half of what is made back to their place.

With winter approaching the blizzards are not far away. With that being said, snow days are expected to arrive sooner or later. When you are in college it is quite rare surprisingly. You would think when there is a blizzard the professors would want to cancel class, but it is not up to them at this level. For example, my roommate had to go take a math exam during a snow day despite the fact that the campus was canceled. Since the professor had already arrived at East cam-
pus the students in the class still had to come. Also commuters have to sacrifice their safety during snow days. Some roads are shut down, they might not even be able to get to class if they wanted to. Also, some people live with their parents and are not not able to leave home. Some commuters can not afford snow tires; not everyone can drive in snow. If the snow is deep enough to not walk or if the road is slippery, then students should be able to have snow days. The
negatives are that class time is more limited and having to rush lessons to catch up. However, the positives are that students are safe from the dangerous weather and have an opportunity on any last minute work. Not only that, it is also a day to sit back, relax, watch some movies, or catch up on some sleep. Overall, no student should have to risk their health or safety for education.

Turkey is an icon of a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but how important is turkey to the fall holiday? Honestly, it’s not essential to the festivities. The dish is overrated and somewhat outdated as a main dish for the holiday. Turkey is not even the star of a Thanksgiving. The most important part of the dinner is the sides. I’ve been a little unnerved when I get served stuffing that doesn’t taste quite right or when the mac and cheese is dry. It’s not like turkey packs a flavorful punch anyway, not the way my family cooks anyhow. Don’t get me wrong there is seasoning and some taste, but the dish is completely upstaged by its counterparts. There is an argument for how traditional turkey is to Thanksgiving. However, an article on mentalfloss.com “Why We Eat Certain Foods on Thanksgiving” suggests there is a lack of primary sources indicating that turkey was served at the first Thanksgiving. In current celebration of the holiday, plenty of people opt for Turkey alternatives. Sometimes when my family actually cooks a Thanksgiving meal [as I’ve gotten older, we usually have Chinese food, but that’s another story for
another time] we substitute ham as the main entree. From my understanding, it’s not a completely unusual practice. Additionally, turkey is not served by families with the different dietary choices than the mainstream culture such as vegetarians, vegans, and the macrobiotic diet. For instance, one of my friends when I was younger was a pescatarian. She and her mom use to eat crab for Thanksgiving, although I’m not sure whether she still practices the pescatarian lifestyle. Also, if you don’t serve turkey you don’t have to deal with the white meat or dark meat dilemma. A good meal doesn’t impose questions, it simply is. Lastly, there is always so much turkey leftovers even when you get a smaller sized bird. That is actually one of the reasons my family switched to doing ham occasionally, we got sick of eating turkey in the many days following Thanksgiving. Turkey is decreasing in its importance to Thanksgiving as each and every year passes by.

The LHU men’s basketball team led by Kelly rolled to a 78-61 non-conference road win over Chestnut Hill on Saturday afternoon. Lock Haven found their groove in the second half and outscored Chestnut Hill 43-28 behind 13 points from Kelly and lockdown defense which held Chestnut Hill to just 30 percent shooting. Kelly finished the day with 20 points and led the Bald Eagles in scoring. He filled up the stat sheet grabbing a team high nine boards, dishing out four assists, blocking four shots and recording four steals. Kelly was also a perfect 9-9 from the free throw stripe.

The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team led by Parker downed the Nyack College Warriors 88-75 in Saturday afternoon’s home opener at Thomas Fieldhouse. Parker led the charge in her season debut, netting a careerhigh 10 field goals with two threes, another career best. Overall Parker notched 28 points, yet another career-high for the forward. Parker was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line, and added four rebounds and two assists to her excellent performance.

My prediction is Ohio State: 31, Penn State 28.
It’s the biggest game of the year for both teams so far in this Big 10 showdown. Number nine Penn State heads to Columbus, Ohio to play against the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. The Nittany Lions have had a rough few weeks while the Buckeyes have stomped every team they faced thus far. If course I’m rooting for PSU, not just because they’re the under dogs and local team, but because I can’t stand the favoritism of Ohio State each year. However, I do think Ohio State will come out victorious again this year. Last year the Buckeyes won by one point, and this year it’ll probably be close again with the huge rivalry. But I think their defense is a lot more dependable than Penn State’s. I truly think this will make all the difference in a potentially close game.

Now the Bulldogs have a good chance of making the playoffs if they win these last two games against Texas A&M and Georgia Tech. The biggest game of the week is second-ranked Ohio State versus ninth-ranked Penn State. If PSU pulls off the upset, they may move up in the rankings far enough to make the play-

Evansville knocked Kentucky out of the number one spot this week with a shocker. The Purple Aces won against the Wildcats 67-64. Duke took the number one spot this week after that loss and Kentucky slid all the way down to 9. There haven’t been too many big changes this week in the early season, but Ohio State jumped from 16 to 10. Kaepernick comeback Roxanne Aretta Staff Writer rab484@lockhaven.edu The biggest sports news in America this week was that Colin Kaepernick has a workout where eight NFL teams watched. Orginally, 25 out of the 32 committed to being there to see Kaepernick play for the first time since 2016. However, the practice was supposed to be held at the Falcon’s practice facility but was moved 59 miles away to a high school by Kaepernick. Some think this is because he truly doesn’t want to play in the NFL, but Kaepernick said it was because of liability issues with the NFL. In 2017, the quarterback opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers after the team went 2-14. However, nobody picked him up because of the kneeling protests and “drama” it created. Even with him being a decent quarterback.
