The Joe Rogan Experince on Spotify Brittany Robertson Staff Writer bnr888@lockhaven.edu
Joe Rogan, creator of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast on Spotify, is under fire for the controversial comments made on a recent episode of the podcast. The Joe Rogan Experience was recently signed by Spotify for exclusivity for 100 million dollars. Rogan has been known for having some controversial guests and comments that are made on the show. This is not the first time that Joe has been in the spotlight for his show guests and comments. Two months after the Spotify deal, Rogan had two guests on the show: Alex Jones, the host of Infowars and a known conspiracy theorist, and Tim Dillion, a stand up comedian. Jones is a radio show host, filmmaker and writer along with being a conspiracy theorist. Jones brought out theories involving a Covid-19 vaccine, if masks actually protect people from Covid-19, and if the Democrats were purposely messing with the economy to prevent Trump from being re-elected. Rogan knows that Jones makes some questionable comments but always remains neutral and doesn’t side with him on a particular issue. Spotify met in their offices to try to see if there is a way to “censor’’ Rogan’s guests and the content on the show. After numerous meetings within Spotify, they will tailor their content policy to Rogan. Internal office members are not happy but looks like Rogan is staying on their platform for awhile.

Donating blood during a pandemic Kristin Turner Opinions Editor kat5346@lockhaven.edu
47 students donated blood at the American Red Cross(ARC) blood drive on November 3 at the Student Recreation Center. Due to Covid-19, donors had to register beforehand on the ARC website. Walk-ins were not accepted. According to the ARC website, all blood, platelet and plasma donations are being tested for COVID-19 antibodies. The donations that test positive for the antibodies will be used to help current coronavirus patients that need a transfusion. The ARC employees and the donors were expected to follow the safety guidelines for COVID-19 including wearing a facial cover while practicing social distancing. Equipment and exposed surfaces were wiped and sterilized between donations. The next ARC blood drive at LHU will be held on February 2 and 4 as well as April 6 and 7. Drake fans finally have a release month set for his highly anticipated upcoming album, “Certified Lover Boy,” which is January 2021. The album has been teased by the rapper during the last few months in multiple ways, from dropping the single “Laugh Now, Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk, to sending out “Certified Lover Boy” x Nike merch to his closest friends and family. Most recently, Drake released a short video teaser, which effectively announced the album. The teaser, which dropped a day after the rapper’s 34th birthday on Sunday, October 25, is a compilation of nods at some of Drake’s previous and very notable work. He is shown recreating the covers of his own works, “So Far Gone,” “Take Care,” “Nothing Was the Same” and “Dark Lane Demo Tapes.” Does this mean we can expect different aspects of each of these works to be featured on the new album? The video ends with “CBL” painted on an arena top, and then January 2021 on the screen directly after. There isn’t a more specific release date as of yet. “Certified Lover Boy” will be Drake’s sixth studio album, following his 2018 studio album “Scorpion.” Since 2018, Drake has also added “Care Package,” a compilation of SoundCloud-released and leaked songs, as well as “Dark Lane Demo Tapes” that dropped this past May and also included leaked tracks. This past year alone, Drake has also been busy dropping feature after feature. He hopped on Bryson Tiller’s new album, “Anniversary” and lent a hand on “Outta Time.” Drake also appeared on Future’s “Life is Good” hit; DJ Khaled’s “Popstar”; 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now” and many more.

How to stay warm
Kristin Turner kat5346@lockhaven.edu Opinions Editor Now that the summer weather is over and we are going into fall weather and eventually winter weather, it will start to get pretty cold outside so here are some tips on how to stay warm inside and outside! 1. Drinking hot tea, hot coffee or hot chocolateThis will keep your body temperature stable and it will make you feel warm and toasty. 2. Wear sweatshirts and jackets when you go outThis will help you stay warm when you have to go outside to classes, to work or just going for a walk. 3. Wear socks or slippers- This will help keep your feet warm and also your whole body, especially when you have cold floors. 4. Keep lots of blankets around- There’s no such thing as having too many blankets around, especial-
ly when it starts to get a little nippy outside! 5. Have a hot meal such as soup- This will help warm you up on the inside on those cold days. 6. Exercise- This will help keep your body active and will generate body heat. 7. Take a hot shower- This will not only get you clean, but will also warm you up on those cold days. 8. Use a humidifier- It helps warm up the air and keeps you warm. 9.Keep out any drafts- It is best that you keep out any drafts because you’re trying to stay warm, not be even colder!

Horoscopes Aries(Mar. 21-Apr. 19)- You may have been feeling more
emotional lately, Aries. Today a fanciful energy could sweep you off your feet and into another realm entirely. Feel free to take off for at least a little while in order to gain a better perspective on the issues at hand. Strong, forceful powers are urging you to let someone else take the reins on a particular project. Taurus(Apr. 20- May 20)- People and situations that you were counting on may suddenly run into opposition today, Taurus. Don’t be surprised if the seat you’re sitting on is suddenly pulled out from under you. Make sure you have some extra padding, since it could be a rather hard fall. More than likely, however, you will be able to take it in stride. Gemini(May 21-Jun. 20)- Your ego has probably been feeling strong lately, and you may feel an extra boost of self-confidence, Gemini. Don’t be surprised if your ego gets threatened by someone who appears out of the blue with an aggressive, opinionated attitude, someone who isn’t on quite the same track as you. You may find it hard to deal with people today, since they could be a bit spacey. Cancer (Jun. 21-Jul. 22)- If you knew the truth of all the things that are going on outside your world, you’d be appalled, Cancer. You shouldn’t take things at face value today. It’s important to simply go and see things for yourself. Don’t trust another’s word on what is true and what isn’t. Question what you see. Make sure you don’t let others pull the wool over your eyes. Leo(Jul. 23-Aug. 22)- It isn’t a good idea to try to fit people into a mold today, Leo. This will only annoy others and frustrate you. It’s important that you relax and simply let people blossom into the people they want to be. If you have a preconceived notion of who they should be, you’re only setting yourself up for failure and disappointment, as well as anger from the other party. Virgo(Aug. 23-Sept. 22)- Consider subscribing to an alternative newsletter of some sort, Virgo. You will find some amazing information that the general public doesn’t necessarily know. Knowledge is power. For the most part, common knowledge is quite limited. Try to seek news from a wider community. Some mainstream information is pretty unreliable. Libra(Sept. 23- Oct. 22)- Don’t expect others to take much notice of your emotions today, Libra. You’re more respectful of theirs than they are of yours. Find peace among all you encounter. This could be difficult since other people’s wills are involved. In that case, people aren’t likely to back down. Others think they’re right and refuse to see things any other way.
Scorpio(Oct. 23- Nov. 21)- Your aggressive attitude is likely to start a fight that might be difficult to settle now, Scorpio. There are extremely stubborn forces at work, and you may find that no one is willing to budge from their position. The thing that is apt to make this even more difficult is that people may misinterpret certain pieces of the puzzle. Try to bring understanding to the situation instead of more aggression. Sagittarius(Nov. 22- Dec. 21)- People may be difficult to deal with today, Sagittarius. You may soon discover that they’re just as stubborn as you are. Try to give others the benefit of the doubt or there will be a stalemate in just about every corner of your life. Don’t consider it a loss or failure of character if you find you need to make some concessions in order to get things to work. Capricorn(Dec. 22- Jan. 19)- Your ego may be under some stress today, Capricorn. The tricky part is that the threat you feel is probably a result of something that isn’t even completely real. It could be that someone is acting on false information that has no bearing on the reality of the situation. You might be swept away by someone else’s false impression of who you really are. Aquarius(Jan. 20- Feb. 18)- You could develop a stomachache if you try to sort out all the confused issues of the day, Aquarius. There are apt to be too many matters for you to handle alone, so don’t even try. It’s one of those situations in which you start to untangle one knot only to create another somewhere down the line. It’s best to just let the ball of string lie where it is for now. Pisces(Feb. 19- Mar. 20)- You may have your mind set on some big plans that you’ve been working on for some time now, Pisces. The problem is that today there is some conflict with something or someone with a large ego who suddenly wants a piece of the pie. Either that or this person wants to burst your bubble. Don’t give up hope on your dreams. Realize that this opposition is just part of the adventure.

How to prepare for Thanksgiving
Tess English tae7002@lockhaven.edu Online Manager As November marks the beginning of the beloved turkey season, there is much to get done before the third Thursday of the month. Don’t worry there is no need to fret on how to prepare this holiday season. The Eagle Eye has you covered with a few suggestions on throwing the best quarantined Thanksgiving. Step one: Decorate. It’s never the wrong time to decorate for the holidays and there is plenty you can do with fall decor to spice up your turkey day. Get some baby pumpkins, gords, and some decor maze to start. Get a few festive decorative turkeys, and maybe even a thanksgiving banner. Decorate in warm colors too that will help bring the fall vibes to your Thanksgiving. Step two: Decide the guest list. While the Eagle Eye encourages students social distance as much as humanly, possible the staff cannot physically stop from gathering. However, the President has recently suggested that indoor gatherings be limited to 10 people or less.
Step three: Choose the menu. Decide what you want the menu to be! You can do a traditional Thanksgiving giving menu or you can shake it up and go a non-traditional route. If you aren’t a cook, check around to see what’s open on Thanksgiving day to see if you can get some take out or grab something the night before and heat up the leftovers! Step four: Plan activities. Just pick out a few fun board games or card games to keep you and your family entertained while you wait for dinner to start. Step five: Enjoy. Remember not to get yourself too worked up over the holidays. They are supposed to be light hearted and fun. Not a stressor. If you’re feeling overwhelmed just take a step back and reshape your expectations. Sometimes more is less.

Christmas Can Start in November Cassie Keller cmk2356@lockhaven.edu News Editor
It seems that christmas is getting earlier and earlier ever y year and frankly, it’s time someone set the record straight for when early is too early. We’ll start with the easiest, Christmas shopping. Specif ically shopping for presents and gif ts. When you have a lot of people to shop for, doing it all in a few months before Christmas can really hurt your wallet. So year round Christmas shopping is perfectly f ine. There is no shame in taking advantage of the af ter Christmas sales. However, stores themselves are one of the biggest culprits in the increasingly premature Christmas celebration. With stores having to pre-order Christmas stock in order to have it to sell for Christmas, they have to think of Christmas a few months earlier than most people. For stores, it is ok to set up for Christmas sales as early as November 1. That way they have plenty of time before Christmas and they are set up for November’s Black Friday sales. However displaying Christmas decorations before November 1 is unacceptable and worse than that, it’s an insult to Halloween. However, the biggest Christmas offence is playing Christmas music anywhere before Black Friday. Radio stations are the biggest criminals of this offence and have led stores to keep up with the early Christmas celebrations they have started. It is our duty as a society to at least pretend we care about the holiday traditions that take place in the second half of the year before Christmas ends the year. So remember, don’t sing Christmas music before the time is right and have a g reat holiday season.

Businesses Change Customer Service During COVID-19 Blayne Shell Guest Writer As organizations throughout the world continue to reshape their business operations under the “new normal” lights of the pandemic economy, many have taken a close look inward to identify areas where they can become more streamlined and efficient, as well as pay closer attention to how they can cater to their most critical asset – human capital. Sure, it’s important to find ways to recover lost revenue as quickly as possible, and this most likely was driven by the need to reshape and rebuild a company culture that may have worked pre-pandemic. However, while businesses have the to ls and technologies available to work remotely, many companies have found this to be an entirely different journey when their entire workforce found itself working from home. CTechnology Helping to Reshape CX Cultures These leading organizations have quickly redesigned their customer service operations to outsource critical customer needs and engage with expert teams that leverage resolution-centered customer experience (CX) technologies that semlessly combine call-center agent support with AIdriven self- service functionality. Sophisticated chatbots have also been deployed to assist both the agent and customer where necessary. In some highly technical cases, customers originating with self-service support and chatbots are seamlessly redirected over to a human agent. The days of frustrating long wait times
resulting in customers failing to get resolution are a thing of the past for these companies. This process is helping organizations to grow revenue, reduce costs, and deliver a resolution-centered, differentiated customer experience. AI-powered customer resolution technologies and chatbots have grown increasingly important to leading businesses. Over 80% of companies expect to compete primarily based on their customer experience this year, up from only 36% in 20101 . Furthermore, companies that are leading in customer experience are three times more likely to have significantly exceeded their 2019 business goals2. Through the use of advanced technology, these contact center solutions improve overall CX efficiency without sacrificing the human element through a balanced human/digital CX model: self-service and bot technology work in concert to simplify transactional support and AI-empowered human engagement teams to resolve complex or emotional customer needs. Healthcare organizations constantly face many customer inquiries, even prepandemic. Issues such as noncompliance penalties, low customer satisfaction, high repeat-call volumes, inadequate resolutionrates due to inexperience in healthcare support; and sub-optimal sales revenue are all overcome through today’s leading AIenabled CX solutions. The pandemic forced many companies to luickly re-evaluate the best way to continue operations and sell to customers while adhering to new health guidelines that displaced many employees to their homes. Through the use of sophisticated technology, leading companies today have found a way to engage with the right partners that offer resolution-focused outcomes to keep employees safe while maintaining optimal customer experience levels. Penn State vs Ohio State
Brittany Robertson Staff Writer bnr888@lockhaven.edu
Week two in the Big Ten for the Penn State Nittany Lions came with cold weather, limited crowds, and an intense Ohio State football team. It was the first time Beaver Stadium welcomed fans in a limited capacity this season and was a very different version of the ‘’whiteout’’ game. 2020 is the year of adapting, there were fan cutouts and dogs in the student section, crowd noise fed into the stadium and virtual pre-game tailgates on the scoreboard. ESPN College GameDay was in town as well. Ohio State came out early with a two-touchdown drive in the first quarter. Penn State was able to put together a field goal drive towards the end of the first quarter making the score 14-3 by the start of the second quarter. Ohio State came back to respond rather quickly by creating a touchdown drive then Penn State capitalized on a mistake by Ohio State with a field goal heading into halftime.
The start of the third quarter brought momentum for the Penn State team. The team came out with a 75-yard drive that included a touchdown catch by Jahan Dotson. Ohio State created a scoring drive around midway through the quarter with a 49-yard catch and field goal drive. The Lions created a drive at the beginning of the fourth quarter that looked as if momentum was shifting. The drive included a pair of one-handed catches by Dotson. But the Ohio State quarterback, Justin Fields was able to come back to score with 9:14 on the clock. Penn State took one more try to score with a reception made by Dotson from Sean Clifford. However, an interception within the last few minutes of the game sealed Ohio State’s victory. Penn State hosts the University of Maryland on Nov. 7 with kickoff scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.

2020 World Series results Levi Deitz Copy Editor lwd6487@lockhaven.edu
The Los Angeles Dodgers have won the 2020 World Series. They defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in 6 games, with a score of 4 to 2, under their Manager, Dave Roberts. This is the team’s first World Series win since 1988 where they defeated the Oakland Athletics under team manager Tommy Lasorda. This is the Dogers’ third time appearing in the World Series in the past 4 years, having competed in the 2017 and 2018 iterations. Postgame, Los Angeles Shortstop Corey Seager was named MVP of the World Series. He batted .400, scored 2 home runs, and batted in 5 runs. He also had an on-base percentage of .556. Seager is the eighth player to win MVP of the World Series in the same year that they won MVP in the League Championship Series. The Series started out very well for the Dodgers with them winning the first game 8 to 3. The teams then traded wins for the next 3 games, with the Rays winning games 2 and 4, and the Dodgers winning game 3. It was all tied up going into game 5, but the Rays were unable to pull through, leaving the Dodgers to win games 5 and 6, and the World Series itself.
