Play games, work on focus and performance skills and generally have a whale of a time.

Get stuck in and practice your Tag Rugby skills, with this club providing you with the potential opportunity of representing the school.

An opportunity for children to learn about gardening, whilst also making improvements to the Heathfield grounds.

For instrumentalists of any ability come and play some famous pieces with other instruments some you will know, some will be new!

Rounders is a game of striking and fielding. Improve your skills and reflexes in this exciting team sport.

Mark Duffy Football Coaching (Y3-6) Sessions are focused on individual play and learning the fundamentals of football. Players are encouraged to have as many contacts with the ball during the session, with various fun games and small sided matches enabling a high number of touches during the hour. The lovely coaching team from Mark Duffy Football School have over 60 years experience and as a result the activity is always over subscribed. FRIDAY AT HEATHFIELD The following is available for students to choose on a Friday at Heathfield: Karate (Y5-11) New to Rishworth & Heathfield. We are delighted to offer students an opportunity to learn Karate at a local dojo. The club is ran by Matthew Handley, former representative of karate in England and now the current England National Para Karate Coach & UK coaching ambassador. His club has produced many English, British and international champions, and England Representatives. The club is aimed at Year 5-11 and is mixed ability, so offers students of all abilities, including beginners to opportunity to develop their skills. Students will be transported to and from the dojo by minibus and will return in time for the school bus at 4.30pm. Please note collection will be at the Rishworth School car park. Off-site (additional cost £4 per session)

Come along to Musical Theatre and develop your singing skills by learning musical songs, learn lines from scripts and choreograph classic musical dances.

UCAT/BMAT preparation and practice for students applying for medicine, dentistry and veterinary science university courses.

Duke of Edinburgh Silver (Y10-13)

HPQ (Y10)

The Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award is a nationally accredited, highly recognised accolade. Students will participate in Expedition Training during this EE time, they will also need to complete 3-6 months of volunteering, a skill and a physical of their choice.

The Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) is a standalone qualification, equivalent to half a GCSE and can be taken by students in addition to their GCSE qualifications. The HPQ provides an exciting opportunity for students to develop and extend their understanding in an area of personal interest or to conduct research into subjects which may not be available as part of their other formal studies and as a stepping stone to the EPQ.

Competitions and fun on various old computer games, providing debate and also competition.

This is an opportunity for A Level students to catch up on Geography lessons missed throughout the week, or to cover work missed at another time.

MONDAY AT RISHWORTH All of the following are options available for students to choose on a Monday at Rishworth: Future Master Chef Club (Y7-9)

IELTS (Y12-13)

A chance to develop more complex and demanding cooking skills in a longer session. Students will be provided with ingredients, but they will need to bring their own aprons, washing up gloves and containers. Pupils will make more challenging dishes than they have time for in traditional school food lessons. Finish at 5pm.

Come to improve your IELTS score. You will learn the exam techniques required to improve your score; and you'll complete and receive feedback on practise papers.

GCSE Spanish Support Higher Tier (Y10) The GCSE Spanish Support for higher tier focuses on exam skills preparation for your GCSE Spanish exams (reading, speaking, listening and writing) aiming at grade 6-9. There will be time allocated every week for differentiated work on your GCSE higher speaking role-play, photocard techniques and general conversation, to have a go at exam practice questions and to practise your vocabulary. Students are strongly advised to purchase the Collins AQA GCSE 9-1 Spanish with audio (all-in-one revision guide and workbook for their GCSE Spanish prep) so as they can make use of it during the support sessions. The rest of the materials will be provided by the teacher. Room 9

Triathlon training for those wanting to develop fitness or try a new sport. A bike will not be required (school spinning bikes to be used).

French GCSE support (Invite Only)

Additional supported time for students completing art qualifications. Also open to Year 9 students who have selected GCSE Art.

This session is to provide extra support for pupils doing French GCSE, with support covering the following key areas: reading, listening and speaking.

Rounders coaching for those wanting to develop their skills and match play, as well as representing the school team.

Open to all instrumentalists (not keyboard or guitar) of all abilities to come and practice with our band.

Come to Film Club to watch classic films and learn about the world of filmmaking.

All creative minds are invited to join our club. Students learn how to make popular Origami items. Crease, bend, flip and fold your way into our club!

Psychology Club (Y9) Psychology club is open to all students in Year 9, regardless of whether you study the subject or not - a keen interest in more than enough! We'll explore different psychology experiments from the unethical to the outright bizarre, watch and discuss psychology TED talks and even conduct our own experiments. Rishworth Choir (Y7-13)

Want to wield some words? Pen a powerful poem or nail biting narrative? Join us as we write with freedom and have fun with language.

All welcome as we sing a variety of songs as well as taking requests of those in choir.

WEDNESDAY AT RISHWORTH All of the following are options available for students to choose on a Wednesday at Rishworth: Athletics Coaching (Y7-13) Athletics coaching for all students wishing to develop and improve in a range of different athletics events. Sports Hall

Green Space (Y7-13) Grow seasonal vegetables, fruits and flowers in the school polytunnel. Enjoy the magic of seeds coming to life in real time and learn how to manage a small allotment, as well as identifying a dandelion from a cabbage plant. Students should wear suitable footwear (ideally wellies) and gardening gloves, as well as being dressed to get dirty. Polytunnel (additional cost £20 per term) Further Maths GCSE Y10 (Invite Only) This course is an additional qualification that runs alongside the GCSE Mathematics course. It also supports students looking to take A-Level Maths (or other subjects needing confident use of Maths). This course is only suitable for students covering the higher tier GCSE content. Room 3

This is a dedicated time to learn new skills, play practice games and increase your rating. Regardless of experience, challenge yourself, sharpen your skills and learn new strategies.

Rishworth Ramblers (Y7-13) Walking is good for your health and mental wellbeing. A good walk after a busy day at school will do you good. We walk on various routes around the local area, and in all weathers! You will need appropriate footwear which are strong enough to cope with walking on muddy paths as well as appropriate walking clothing. Meet in The Quad Photography Club (Y7-13)

English IGCSE Coursework Support (Y10)

Learn photography skills at different locations. You will learn to expose images correctly, compose images and use different creative techniques. Ideally all students must have a digital camera to participate in this club.

Support for Year 10 students who need help or advice with their English Language or Literature IGCSE coursework.

Rock School (Invite Only)

This is where the real science happens! Practical based activities to promote fun and learning through science. Pupils will have the opportunity to work independently and in groups.

Guitarists, drummers, bassists - a chance to form a band.

Dance Club (Y7-13) Open to all years who want to develop their choreography and performing skills in dance. You will have the opportunity to work in duets, trios and groups, exploring a range of dance styles. You will experiment using a range of music to create dances to and develop key skills such as collaboration, creativity and confidence. No previous dance experience needed. Performing Arts Centre Ski Club - Beginner (Y7-13)

Ski Club - Intermediate (Y7-13)

For those who are wishing to learn to ski. Sessions are instructor led, with students learning the basics of being on the slopes.

A continuation of last term's lessons or a new start for students wishing to enhance their skiing skills.

Up to 10 players practising and playing golf on a state of the art golf simulator, driving range and eventually a real course.
