Celebrating A New School Year in Panther Nation Panther Nation, I am excited about the new school year in Liberty Hill ISD and for the privilege I have to lead and serve the students, staff, and community as your superintendent. The teachers and staff are deeply committed to providing your children with the very best education possible.

Last year did not end up as anyone had planned, but I was encouraged by the outpouring of support from our community. Together, Panther Nation lifted up our students and teachers and made sure the senior class ended their time at LHISD on a good note.

This year has brought many challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been busy working to continuously improve our district and keep Liberty Hill as one of the top-performing school districts in the state. We are proud to be one of the few districts in the greater Austin area to give our community the choice of starting school in-person this year. LHISD has worked hard to include many community members in our planning process to keep our teachers and students safe as we reopen. We also strive to make sure that students who chose the learning at home option have a great educational experience as well.

In addition to planning for the return of school, Liberty Hill ISD and the Board of Trustees have been busy in the continuous improvement process and working towards the future. We are wrapping up a Strategic Planning process that started in Janu-

ary, where over 120 staff and community members designed a plan that will provide LHISD a solid foundation to manage future growth while keeping our smalltown feel.

Liberty Hill ISD has also formed a new Education Foundation. This foundation plans to partner with the community to help our district fund classroom grants for innovative projects and educational excellence.

I am glad that you have chosen the Liberty Hill community to live in and that you trust us with the education of your children.

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer full of memories that will last a lifetime.

A message from Jeff Walker, LHISD Athletic Director

The Liberty Hill Athletic Department is excited to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year.

It is an exciting time for us this year as we move into the ranks of 5A. While this will be a big change for our programs, what doesn’t change is our tradition of excellence. We will continue to strive for success in all girls’ and boys’ programs.

The other big changes this year are driven by the pandemic and our return to activities with safety in mind.

We are so glad to have the opportunity to have our student athletes returning to their sports. I love seeing students build friendships, create lifetime memories, celebrate their successes and learn from their failures. It is important to me that all

student athletes take away key learnings beyond just wins/losses from their experiences in our programs. I believe in the value of high school sports and I will do my best to continue fostering a safe environment of hard work and success in our athletic program.

This is truly a special place thanks to all of you. Support from our school board, faculty, administrators, parents and the community make our success at Liberty Hill possible. On behalf of all the coaches and athletic trainers we want to thank the parents for giving us the opportunity to be a part of these athletes’ lives.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support of Liberty Hill Athletics and our student athletes. This year it will take “All of Us” to see our young men and women through a successful year.

We are excited and looking forward to this new year at Liberty Hill High School. I am honored to work with the students, staff, and community of Liberty Hill ISD as we kick off the 2020-2021 school year. In our current situation, I am thankful that we have the opportunity to continue extracurricular activities. Getting the year started has been an experience and a challenge that will go down in the history books. This year will be one to remember.

With all the hard work and determination to get this year started, I want to remind everyone that we will continue to promote a culture of Family here at LHHS. We must come together and always do what is right for students.

Doing what is best for our students will always be the right choice.

It is my sincere desire to be a champion for students. I intend to provide leadership that will support students, faculty, and the Liberty Hill community.

I am proud of our coaches, sponsors, student-athletes, and performers for their daily efforts to compete at their highest level possible. We have set high expectations for our students, both in the classroom and in the competition arena, with the knowledge that these daily challenges serve very favorably in the overall development of our capable students and leaders of tomorrow. I have faith that they will rise to the occasion.
