OCTOBER FEATURE Sending warm wishes to Members, Jackie Ward, Assistant Recreation Coordinator

HAPPY OCTOBER MEMBERS! Looking back on September, we were happy to welcome West Valley exercise programs back, like Stay Fit and Balance Awareness. Zumba and Yoga also returned. Boost Your Mood group met to discuss small reminders to make you feel amazing again- one favorite takeaway was listening more and talking less. The guest speaker from the Alzheimer’s Foundation filled the room and taught us all about brain healthy habits. We had a lot to celebrate under our new roof- including the “3 Gals and That Guy” team triumph with the most points at Team Trivia. Best of all was the Member Mixer, an annual event where members got together to mix and mingle over mocktails, appetizers, and group games. Thank you to Michelle from the Rotary Club for arranging the fabulous flowers that we raffled off at the event. Also, big thanks to the sponsors of the prizes: Domus with an overflowing gift basket complete with a $50 gift card, Icing on the Cake for a gift certificate for 4 delicious cupcakes, and Double Ds Sports Grill for a $50 gift card.

Thank you, Domus

As we head into October, do not miss the free Bocce Ball Social on our beautiful courts at the Joan Pisani Center, Saratoga. This friendly short-game tournament with refreshments takes place on Friday, October 2nd. Call the 55 Plus Office by dialing 408-354-1514 to add your name to our roster. RSVP for October’s Guest Speaker presentation on Thursday, October 22nd to learn all about “Boosting Cash Flow”. Join us for the Decades Dance on Friday, October 23rd. Brooke will take you back through the decades with music from each era at this not-to-be-missed event. Get your member ticket for $5 and invite a friend who is not a member for $15. Be sure to dress in the attire of your favorite decade. At the end of the month learn all about Diwali, the Festival of Lights that is central to Indian culture, while dining on Indian food at Food for Thoughts on Friday, October 30th. Call us to sign up for this free program.

Thank you, Icing on the Cake
