THE PRINT - November 2024

Page 1

Welcome to November Members,

We hope you enjoyed the October treats that our team planned for you. Members enjoyed spooky events such as a special edition of Food for Thought “Halloween Lore and Goodies Galore”, themed movie showings in the lounge, crafting bootiful succulent pumpkins, and a monster mash social dance showcasing some great costumes. Guest speaker Sally Duplantier shared the timely topic of “Science Based Ways to Boost Your Immune System. Two Great Getaway bus trips took place, one traveling to the Mystery Spot and Chaminade in Santa Cruz and the second spending a nice fall day out at Angel Island.

In November, we are reminded of how grateful we are for this wonderful community of members. To celebrate we look forward to gathering for our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon with delicious food from Los Gatos Meats and ambiance set by talented pianist (and member) Sue. There is no fee for this event, but we encourage members who are able to bring NEW socks or underwear that will be donated back into the community. On Saturday November 16th, join us for a special ceremony in honor of Veterans Day. Technical Sergeant Jaclynn Canavan Bol, USAF, Retired will be the guest speaker for the event. We encourage you to bring in an photos or mementos to add to the display table. Open to the public, so please invite a friend.

Also in November, don’t miss attending this month’s Food for Thought which will be a gouda time learning all about cheese and sampling the subject matter too. There are only a few seats left, be sure to RSVP. We have live band “Seascape Sounds” lined up for the November’s social dance, so be sure to get your ticket, Lesley will give a 30-minute ballroom lesson, but even if you have two left feet, join us to enjoy the music and refreshments. Come meet our Teen Volunteers on the 7th and 21st to play tables games or get tech help. More seats added to the Great Getaway trip to Cache Creek Casino so there is still space for you to hop aboard. January trips are now open for enrollment, check out the back cover for more info.

November also means it’s time to renew your annual 55 Plus membership. Current members save $5 when you renew in November or December for 2025. Also, a great time for new members to join and enjoy benefits through 2025. The 55 Plus elves are working on adding a few bonus programs as our gift to you in December, stay tuned!
