Sending warm wishes to Members this June, Jackie Ward, Assistant Recreation Coordinator

Happy July Members,

We wish you all a happy Independence Day weekend! Our offices will be CLOSED in observance of the holiday on Friday, July 3rd and reopen on Monday the 6th.

Looking back on June brings a smile. Hands on Art attendees used citrus fruits to stamp colorful designs on summery tea towels. The June Blooms knocked it out of the park at Team Trivia and won Disney-themed fanny packs fully stocked for a day of adventure. Paint Party participants created coastline beach scenes with Brooke. Guest Speaker, Colin Triplett, owner of Mint Condition Fitness, filled the room for his talk about redefining longevity. Members enjoyed the shady tables under the lakeside trees at Vasona Boats and BBQ. Some stayed on land playing lawn games and socializing while others took to the water aboard peddle boats, kayaks, and canoes. Everyone enjoyed hotdogs, chips, fruit, and ice cream and a wonderful day in the park. July’s Boats and BBQ is full, but you may add yourself to the waitlist.

Don’t miss our annual summer picnic on July 28th from 12pm to 2pm. Sign up today for $5 to grab your seat at the table. Bring your appetite to feast on hamburgers, turkey burgers, or portabella mushroom burgers served with plenty of sides, pink lemonade, and dessert. The Cook ’N Fenny Combo are back to provide live music for the event, and we have a surprise swag item for everyone to take home. Once again, we will fill Friendship Hall in Saratoga to enjoy a mix of indoor and outdoor seating in the warm weather. We express gratitude to our generous sponsors: El Camino Health, Ivy Park, Jewish Family Services, Mint Condition Fitness, Los Gatos Thrives, and Vasona Creek Healthcare Center. We also give a huge shout out to the Lion’s Club for volunteering to serve

food alongside us. We couldn’t do it without all your help, and we invite everyone to attend! Act now to grab one of the last seats on our free charter bus which will take people from Los Gatos to Friendship Hall.

July will see many returning monthly programs including Bingo, plenty of exercise options, Boost Your Mood Group: “Habits of Happier People Part 2”, Food for Thought: “Hydration Break”, Team Trivia, and a special guest speaker. Come learn all about Estate Planning from Jeannette Marsala on Thursday, July 23rd at 10am. We hope to see you often and soon!
