JANUARY FEATURE
Happy New Year Members! We enjoyed lots of fa-la-la-la-fun at our festive events with so many of you in December. Members crafted wooden clothespin snowflakes, handmade cards, and clay gift tags this month. Ed and Claudette led a joyful holiday caroling session and also rocked our holiday social. You can join Ed on Wednesdays for Art and Music Appreciation starting at the end of January. We enjoyed sharing food, laughs and photos at our holiday social. Team trivia took on a holiday twist and Food for Thought focused on nuts and the nutcracker! Members lent a helping hand in preparation and during our holiday youth events. Kiana called in a favor from the North Pole and Santa and Mrs. Claus made a guest appearance at chair Zumba. Our Great Getaway Day trip enjoyed a Christmas classic, seeing the Nutcracker ballet in San Francisco. Thank you for making 2025 a member-able year. Check out page 7 for a look at 2025 statistics and highlights. We look forward to making new memories in 2026! Thank you for renewing your membership and helping us start the year with over 500 members! Reminder that membership is annual and so if you have not done so yet, membership will need to be renewed in January. If you would like to start 2026 with a bang, consider trying the $5 demo of Bucketeers percussion demo class. If getting active is part of your plan for 2026 keep these fitness updates in mind. For the first three weeks of January, Angela will be teaching FREE Sit and Be Fit on both Mondays and Fridays at 1pm. West Valley College returns the last week of January with FREE fitness on Monday and Friday with Stay Fit at 1pm and Balance Awareness at 2pm. For those of you who enjoyed chair ZUMBA with Kiana to close out 2025, there will be a low-cost option on Thursdays in 2026, and Angela will teach a low-cost Supported Exercise for Ageless Training (think one difficulty level above Stay Fit) on Tuesdays. Zumba and Yoga options will continue. Santa Clara County is back to instructor evidence-based program BINGOcize on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1pm. Check out the calander for full details. Our two January Guest Speakers will cover building balance and spine-related ways to stay strong! Start a new hobby by joining Jackie to make your own key chain or Stephanie to make a keepsake box. Don’t miss our first social of the New Year on Friday January 16th from 4PM-6PM. Ring in the new year with live music from Seascape Sounds, games, appetizers, mocktails, and more. Come dressed to impress! Cheers to a great start to 2026! Lisanne Kennedy, Recreation Coordinator
