THE PRINT - March 2025

Page 1

Happy March Members,

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it was a flurry of fun activities. In celebration of Chinese New Year, our beloved Zumba instructor, Kiana, led upbeat dance moves. Taba Taba Chinese Bistro generously donated a heaping tray of Chow Mein, which we filled our plates with alongside eggrolls and orange chicken. Kiana also started a NEW Zumba Chair class on Thursdays. Our team hosted the second annual Mah Jongg tournament with support from Kalane, the Queen of the Tiles! Players spent several hours in friendly competition to win prizes donated by Domus. February’s Food for Thought was a sweet success! Members learned all about chocolate- from light to dark and everything in between. Everyone enjoyed each other’s company and sang along to the music from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the close of the presentation. Our Teen Tech and Table Games program spent two afternoons teaching members how to use ride share apps, like Uber to schedule transportation and provided handouts for take-home reference. Members could also learn the featured tabletop game Rummikub. Our new book club Paperback Pals met to discuss our first book and will meet again to cover “Where the Crawdads Sing”. All office copies have been loaned out but secure your own copy and join our discussion!

This March is sure to match February’s fervor. Food for Thought will play into St. Partick's Day showcasing “Irish Cuisine & Plenty of Green”. The March tech topic will focus on photos so bring in your questions and curiosity about making the most of your phone camera, editing, collages, photo recovery, etc. It's not too late to learn how to play Rummikub, lessons will continue this month! This month our social dance will have a 30-minute ballroom lesson with Lesley and music by “Seascape Sounds”! Even if you have 2 left feet, join us for refreshments and live music. We have two additional fun socials planned. Join us for a slice of pie a day ahead of “Pi”e day. Stop by the 55 Plus Office before the social to let us know your favorite type. We are also excited for a new event. We will take over the Bocce Courts at the Joan Pisani Community Center. Play on a team to land the bocce closest to the paolino - no experience necessary. Participants will be organized into teams to play mini games up to 5 points.

Sending warm spring wishes from our 55 Plus Team, Lisanne, Jackie & Brooke
