THE PRINT - June 2025

Happy June Members!

May was a marvelous month with multiple events. Two successful day trips enjoyed a Disney tour and Garden Getaway. Members Mary, Raymond and Gus led an insightful speaker series. 100 lovely members, in fancy attire and fascinators, participated in our 4th annual Mother’s Day High Tea. A huge shout out to Kiwanis volunteers for their efforts in preparing sandwiches and to member and pianist Sue for creating the ambiance. 45 local service providers gathered onsite for the Resource Fair. Our team also hosted our first Thrifted Treasures event with 20 sellers and over 180 people of all ages stopped by to shop second hand. Tabling fees from both events support 55 Plus! Food for Thought explored Cinco De Mayo and enjoyed a nacho bar with chips and salsa donated by local restaurant Pedro’s. May’s guest speaker on Bone Health was a hot topic with over 40 early RSVPs.

Now that June is here, we officially start our FAB (fifty-five and above) summer! Kiana will lead exclusive low-cost Water Workout classes at the Los Gatos High School pool (spots available). Kiana will lead an evening Zumba Gold class to meet demand following Thursday sold out classes and received requests for evening classes. We have added more fun summer socials, so be sure to sign up for Bocce on 6/6 and Vasona Boating events on 6/17 or 7/17. Line dance with Mandi will return for the June social dance. Food for Thought will cover the fun theme of “Food on a Stick.” Have you been on a VTA Ride and Taste lunch outing yet? Sign up now to join at the end of the month. Los Gatos also offers a summer evening music series, check out the community page for more information! In June, we also do a mid-year survey. Please help us by taking a few minutes to fill this out and share your feedback either electronically or in paper form at the 55 Plus office!

Looking ahead, save your seat for the July Summer Picnic with live music from Cook N’ Fenny. This year we are moving the event to Friendship Hall to ease accessibility and with indoor/outdoor seating.

Sincerely,

Thank you to local community organizations for your support this month!
