Happy August Members,

July was a celebration of all things summer with lots of opportunities to socialize. There was a great turnout with 50 people for the Summer Social Ballroom Dance following Lesley's lead and tunes by DJ Brooke. Our next social dance will be in September with live music from Seascape Sounds. We enjoyed a second great summer day out on the water at Vasona Boating. Trips toured to enjoy the Bay, local sights in San Jose, and to cheer for the Giants! Hands On Art crafted fabric windsocks. Food for Thought learned all about Ice Cream and savored banana splits. We closed out July with our Annual Picnic at Friendship Hall in Saratoga with live music by Cook’ N Fenny. Thank you to all who attended. It was a beautiful venue for the event and fun to see the shuttle bus arrive too! We are grateful to this year's event sponsors: Vasona Creek Healthcare, Los Gatos Thrives Foundation, Hand N’ Hand Senior Placement, Renewal By Anderson, Hearts and Minds Activity Center, Whole Foods, and thank you to the Los Gatos Lions for providing a hard-working volunteer team!

Summer isn’t over yet! This August join us for a fun Summer Social in the hall with chair volleyball, cornhole, and ice cream. El Camino Health has been leading Wellness Walks in surrounding communities, and they will be coming to offer a VIP version here on site! Join for a wellness talk and then walk the Los Gatos Creek trail as a group. Good news Zumba enthusiasts, evening Zumba has been popular and will continue! While WVC is in between semesters we will have Angela teaching SEAT (Supported Exercise for Ageless Training). Our guest speaker this month will give a talk on Practical Tips for Daily Calm. Expect to learn techniques to soothe anxiety, foster resilience, and restore balance managing life's stressors. Hands on Art will be making beaded garden stakes. Be on the lookout as we are introducing new programs starting this fall and fall trips are now open for registration.
