THE PRINT - April 2025

Happy April Members!

Wrapping up a marvelous March, we reflect on a few highlights! Pie was enjoyed at our “just for fun” social a day ahead of 3.14 pi day. Cherry pie was voted the favorite pie! Our social dance, with live music by Seascape Sounds, had a fabulous turnout with over 50 participants. Members enjoyed a sunny spring day in Saratoga at the Joan Pisani Center learning how to play Bocce ball and teaming up to play mini games to 5 points. This was our first time hosting this event, but we all had so much fun we will plan to do it again soon! Food for Thought covered Irish Cuisine and plenty of green and participants were greeted with a baked potato bar. Jackie hosted Paperback Pals and Healing Hearts again this month. Hands on Art made lovely flower photo frames. We also thank you for your understanding with program changes while the hall was under construction the last week of March. A new partition was installed!

Now it’s time to get artsy! This April, our theme is “Celebration of the Arts”. Our team is excited to offer plenty of FREE activities for members to explore your creative side. Check out the full listing of bonus programs on page 7 or blue events on the calendar. Hands on Art will be every Friday this month! We have also split each class into two sessions to meet the demand and allow more members to participate. All materials provided. We will take a walking field trip to our neighbors at the New Museum of Los Gatos to see the Art Now Exhibit. We are hosting a Community Craft Fair on Saturday where you can come and shop local artists, with the tabling fees collected donated back to the 55 Plus program. We have certified music therapists who will instruct our uplifting Drumming Circle sessions. Back this year by popular demand, the drumming circle is interactive with all participants getting an instrument, no experience required. Explore the beautiful art of the written word at our first Poetry Circle. Jackie will share famous poems about nature in honor of Earth Day. Feel free to bring something you have written to share with the group! Don’t miss the Author Talk with member Rosemarie Elrod as she shares her book Born Into Chaos. See you this month as we celebrate artistic expression through creation and appreciation!

Sincerely,
