LGS Recreation is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for participants, visitors, and staff. Individuals are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times and adhere to all program, District, Local, State and Federal Laws, Regulations, and/or local ordinances with regard to behavior. Failure to comply may result in losing the temporary or permanent privilege of using LGS facilities and/or participating in programs.

Returned Check: A $25 fee will be charged for each returned check.

GENERAL PROGRAM REGISTRATION LIABILITY WAIVER/INDEMNITY: The undersigned, in consideration of participation in the programs operated by Los Gatos –Saratoga Community Education and Recreation (LGS Recreation), agrees to indemnify and hold harmless LGS Recreation, its Board of Directors, contractors, employees and volunteers, and waive and release LGS Recreation, its Board of Directors, contractors, employees and volunteers, from any and all liability for any injury or death which may be suffered by the named individual(s) participating in programs operated by LGS Recreation, or arising out of, or in any way connected with participation in such programs. I have read the above application and agreement, and fully understand that I assume all risks for any such injuries or death.
PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE: I hereby grant permission to include pictures and/or video of me and/or said minor(s) (without the use of names), while participating in LGS recreation program, for brochures or other publicity, and release the photographer and LGS Recreation from liability for any violation of any personal or proprietary right I or my minor(s) might have in connection with any reproduction of or use of photographs in which I or my minor(s) appear. LGS Recreation and its photographer will only take photographs and videos in a public setting in which there is not a reasonable expectation of privacy. GENERAL PARTICIPATION BY MINORS: This Waiver of Claims/Assumption of Risk applies to participation in all programs of LGS by all signatories and minors on whose behalf it has been signed. I have fully read this Agreement and fully understand its content. Furthermore, the significance of this release of liability and assumption of risk agreement has been EXPLAINED TO THE MINOR. I certify that I have custody or am the legal guardian of said minor and that I and my minor child are physically able to participate in recreation activities. In the event I or said minor requires medical treatment while under the supervision of staff and/or agents, I authorize said staff to provide and/or authorize medical treatment. I expect staff to contact me immediately in the event emergency medical treatment is required for said minor, but this contact is not necessary to administer emergency aid. I will pay for all medical treatment which I or said minor may require.
DIGITAL REGISTRATION: Agreement to Term: LGS Recreation offers digital registration for the convenience of program participants. I agree that electronically registering for LGS Recreation activities, including clicking the “I agree” button, hereby constitutes a legally binding signature and agreement to all terms and conditions stated herein, and shall have the same binding force and effect as a physical signature.
CONCUSSION PROTOCOL: I understand and acknowledge that if participating in a program listed in CA Health and Safety Code 124235, the enrolled participant is subject to concussion protocol as outlined in CA Health & Safety Code 124235 which includes “Return to Play” procedures.
VIRTUAL CLASSES: Participants of virtual recreation classes acknowledge they are responsible for ensuring their environment is safe/free from obstructions and bear sole responsibility for, and thereby release LGS Recreation from, any liability arising out of use of third-party applications (e.g., Zoom, Instagram, etc.) on their personal devices.
COVID WAIVER: Public Health Requirements Related to Coronavirus/COVID-19 Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19 By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to, or infected by COVID-19 by attending, and/or transporting my children to, LGS Recreation programs, activities, or events, and of the named perils listed below. Voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless LGS Recreation, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to the above-named perils in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance at LGS Recreation programs, including any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of LGS Recreation, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any LGS Recreation program.

Beginner Sailing Camp 12-15 YRS.
Our experienced and dedicated sailing instructors facilitate a supportive learning environment as students learn to sail in a safe and structured manner while learning new skills that promote teamwork and leadership. We utilize U.S. Sailing training guidelines which incorporate a building block approach to learn to maneuver small boats in light wind conditions. Each Capri Sailboat accommodates 2-3 students where they will work together as a crew to harness the wind as they learn to sail their sailboats across the lake!

VASONA RENTALS
LGS Recreation manages the boating rentals at Santa Clara County Parks & Recreation’s beautiful Vasona Lake. Come out and join us this spring on the weekends until we transition into 7 days a week in the summer (please check our website for more information regarding times and reservations). We offer kayaks, stand up paddleboards, pedal boats, canoes, and sailboat rentals. We also offer group rates and rentals for company outings and youth groups to enjoy a day on the lake. While on the lake, children 0-12 must always wear a life jacket (provided with boat rental). Children 12-15 years old may rent a boat and ride without an adult if we have a parent’s signature.
Online reservations optional. Limited walk-ins will be available. Credit card only. NO OUTSIDE WATERCRAFTS ARE ALLOWED ON THE LAKE.
Leaders In Training at 13-16 YRS. Vasona Boating
The camp environment provides a unique opportunity for youth to build leadership skills, particularly in assisting camp leaders with the younger camp participants. They will learn specific skills for working with co-workers when helping the boat attendants at the boat docks and gain experience through planning and leading activities in a camp setting. They also will enjoy time on the water and a chance to be a kid in a summer camp setting.

PARENT/CHILD The fee for this class includes the registered child and one parent/guardian. This is a great activity to spend with your child while learning to sail together as a team on beautiful and peaceful Vasona Lake. Our easy to sail, 14-foot Catalina Capri sailboats make for a wonderful and memorable experience and this is sure to be one of your favorite activities together! Learn basic sailing skills, sailing terminology, docking, boating safety, and much more, all in a safe environment. PFDs are provided and required. Students must have basic swimming and water safety skills.

Like to bike, swim and run? This week long camp will help you become a better triathlete as you participate in one of the fastest growing sports in the nation. Helmets and a fully functioning bike are REQUIRED. Kids should be ready to swim, bike, and run at each class session. You will learn the in’s and out’s of a real triathlon and have fun while doing it! Classes will meet at the Los Gatos High School Community Aquatic Center. Camp is set up behind the pool. Children will refine swimming skills with streamline push-offs into flutter, back, and dolphin kicks. They’ll swim freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke (15 yards), practice butterfly kick (5 yards), and learn butterfly arms. Additional skills include eggbeater kicks, sculling, treading water, and back survival floats in deep water.
DOLPHIN
LEVEL 4: PREREQUISITES: SEAL
Children will advance their swimming skills by practicing freestyle with side breathing, backstroke with flutter kicks, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke for 25 yards each, as well as butterfly for 15 yards. They’ll tread water using eggbeater kicks for 1 minute, swim underwater for 3 body lengths, and perform open turns on both front and back, continuing to swim 2 body lengths after each turn.

LEVEL 5: PREREQUISITES: DOLPHIN
Children will master advanced swimming techniques, including freestyle (50 yards), backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, sidestroke (25 yards each), treading water, flip turns, and racing dives in deep water.

LEVEL 4: PREREQUISITES: SEAL
Children will refine advanced swimming skills, including freestyle with side breathing and flip turns (100 yards), backstroke with flip turns (100 yards), butterfly with two-hand touch turns (100 yards), and breaststroke (50 yards). They’ll also practice elementary backstroke, sidestroke (50 yards), treading water with legs only (50 yards), and treading with arms for 3 minutes.

NEW LGSR Swim Team
LGSR Swim Team is a recreational swim team that we offer from Spring to Summer that offers fun and a great source of fitness to your child. We offer ages: 5 to 18. The focus is to help improve your participant in multiple aspects of swimming as well as growing the swim community and having fun while doing it. What to Expect at Practice: Our swim sessions are designed to enhance both stroke technique and endurance. We recognize that mastering proper technique is crucial, so we’re committed to dedicating ample time to help swimmers perfect their skills. Each practice will conclude with an engaging activity, like a relay race or a game, which incorporates essential swimming techniques while ensuring that the fun continues. INTRO TO WATER POLO Learn the sport of water polo to develop the fundamentals of the sport including swimming, ball handling and shooting skills in a social and team atmosphere. This sport combines swimming skills, the flow of soccer, and rules like ice hockey! *Must be able to swim at least one lap of the pool in deep water. *No previous water polo experience needed
SPLASHBALL - NON-SWIMMER & PRACTICE AT SHALLOW END Designed to bridge the gap between learn-to-swim and the sport of water polo for children 5-9 participating in our program. The intent is to provide basic water polo skills and understanding of the sport in a recreational format. Although water polo is known for its toughness and endurance, Splashball harnesses all the fun, dynamic aspects of the game in a safe, easy to learn aquatic experience that will motivate kids to swim and stay fit.
SUMMER SESSION - 14U, 12U, 10U Designed for players that have some entry level knowledge of water polo and/ or swim team experience. Intermediate water polo classes will be focused on reinforcing basic fundamental skills, body positioning, teaching offensive/defensive tactics, controlled scrimmages, and conditioning. Masters Swim
Los Gatos Masters welcomes swimmers of all abilities, age 18 or over, who are interested in regular, structured workouts. Previous competitive swimming experience is not necessary. Los Gatos Masters (LGM) is a registered US Masters Swimming (USMS) program and each participant must be registered through the USMS in order to reserve a lane for Masters Swim workouts.
Make a splash in this low-impact, high cardio water workout that tones, tapers the entire body and increases upper core strength while using the resistance of the water. Exercises are easy to follow with varying levels of intensity performed to lively, motivating music. Swim skills are not required and water shoes are highly recommended.

Our experienced instructors will provide a comprehensive introduction to the sport of pickleball, covering topics such as proper technique, footwork, and basic strategy. Youth Evolution Activities
BABY BALLERS will learn the fundamental steps necessary to understand the sport with parent/guardian’s participation and encouragement.
LEVEL 1 focuses on technique through the use of activities that subsequently help build on each other, helping the children to gradually increase their ability to do the basic skill to help them play the sport of basketball.
LEVEL 2 focuses on dribbling, passing, shot technique and teamwork. Adjustable hoops and appropriately sized basketballs are used to always provide just the right amount of challenge.
LEVEL 3 course is aimed to improve large motor skills, spatial awareness and teamwork. The instructor will focus on agility, drills become a bit more advanced and teach children how to perform under pressure of the clock and their opponents.

Futsal Kingz
Futsal is fun, fast-paced and played indoors on an area the size of a basketball court using a small, size 3, low-bounce ball. Players of all levels follow our innovative age-specific curriculum, to improve individual technical ability. Passing, dribbling, shooting and learning new skills will be the focus of the sessions.
This instructional soccer experience includes age appropriate activities: skill demonstrations, fun games, and instructional scrimmages conducted in a non-competitive, recreational format. CODE OF CONDUCT: LGS Recreation is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for participants, visitors, and staff. Individuals are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times and adhere to all program, District, Local, State and Federal Laws, Regulations, and/or local ordinances with regard to behavior. Failure to comply may result in losing the temporary or permanent privilege of using LGS facilities and/or participating in programs.
55 PLUS-SENIOR PROGRAMS - WAIVER OF CLAIMS/ASSUMPTION: The undersigned, in consideration of participation in the programs operated by Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Education and Recreation (LGS Recreation), agrees to indemnify and hold harmless LGS Recreation, its Board of Directors, contractors, employees and volunteers, and waive and release LGS Recreation, its Board of Directors, contractors, employees, and volunteers, from any and all liability for any injury or death which may be suffered by the named individual(s) participating in programs operated by LGS Recreation, or arising out of, or in any way connected with participation in such programs. I have read the above application and agreement, and fully understand that I assume all risks for any such injuries or death.
PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE: I hereby grant permission to include pictures and/or video of me and/or said minor(s) (without the use of names), while participating in LGS Recreation program, for brochures or other publicity, and release the photographer and LGS Recreation from liability for any violation of any personal or proprietary right I or my minor(s) might have in connection with any reproduction of or use of photographs in which I or my minor(s) appear. LGS Recreation and its photographer will only take photographs and videos in a public setting in which there is not a reasonable expectation of privacy. I understand that neither I nor my minor(s) will-not receive any compensation for the use of such pictures or videos. This Waiver of Claims/Assumption of Risk/Consent applies to future participation in all programs of LGS by all signatories and minors on whose behalf it has been signed.
DIGITAL REGISTRATION- AGREEMENT TO TERMS: LGS Recreation offers digital registration for the convenience of program participants. I agree that electronically registering for LGS Recreation activities, including clicking the “I agree” button, hereby constitutes a legally binding signature and agreement to all terms and conditions stated herein, and shall have the same binding force and effect as a physical signature.
VIRTUAL CLASSES: Participants of virtual recreation classes acknowledge they are responsible for ensuring their environment is safe/free from obstructions and bear sole responsibility for, and thereby release LGS Recreation from, any liability arising out of use of third-party applications (e.g., Zoom, Instagram, etc.) on their personal devices.
COVID WAIVER: Public Health Requirements Related to Coronavirus/COVID-19 Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19 By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to, or infected by COVID-19 by attending, and/or transporting my children to, LGS Recreation programs, activities, or events, and of the named perils listed below. Voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless LGS Recreation, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to the above-named perils in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance at LGS Recreation programs, including any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of LGS Recreation, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any LGS Recreation program.
This Waiver of Claims/Assumption of Risk/Consent applies to future participation in all programs of LGS by all signatories and children on whose behalf it has been signed.

Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Education and Recreation is a joint powers agency formed in 1956 by the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District. Commonly known as “LGS Recreation”, the department was re-organized by the three local school districts as a separate joint powers agency to ensure the effective and efficient provision of community education and recreation services to the communities of Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno, and Mountain Communities.

Independent Contract Instructors allow our agency to offer a variety of programs and activities as we rely on you as the activity expert. We are looking for qualified individuals or companies to partner with in serving our community a wide range of programs. Programs may be designed for preschoolers, school age children, teens, adults, families and seniors. We are always open to new, creative and trendy ideas, so feel free to bring something new to our attention!
