Refund Policy
Charge is per participant, per program unless otherwise stated.
General Refund Policy: Refunds and Transfers are permitted up to 5 business days before start of program with cancellation fee applied unless otherwise stated. No refunds issued for requests with less than 4 business days or less notice.
Refund Fee: $10 for classes up to $100, $25 for classes over $100.
Transfer Fee: $10 per participant, per program.
Code of Conduct
LGS Recreation is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for participants, visitors, and staff. Individuals are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times and adhere to all program, District, Local, State and Federal Laws, Regulations, and/or local ordinances with regard to behavior. Failure to comply may result in losing the temporary or permanent privilege of using LGS facilities and/or participating in programs.

“No Class” Dates: See online class descriptions for individual class meetings and “no class” dates.
Materials Fees: As applicable, see website description for details.
Cancellations: When enrollment is low we reserve the right to cancel a class. You will receive a full refund within 4-6 weeks.
Make–Ups: Recreation cancellations only.
Waiting Lists: Once a class is filled, your name is put on a waiting list. Lists are not held from one session to the next.
Returned Check: A $25 fee will be charged for each returned check.
Foreign Currency: We do not accept foreign currency.
Holiday: Office closed 11/27-11/29, 12/23-1/3.
Winter Activity Guide: Will be mailed to residents on December 6, 2024.

GENERAL PROGRAM REGISTRATION LIABILITY WAIVER/INDEMNITY: The undersigned, in consideration of participation in the programs operated by Los Gatos –Saratoga Community Education and Recreation (LGS Recreation), agrees to indemnify and hold harmless LGS Recreation, its Board of Directors, contractors, employees and volunteers, and waive and release LGS Recreation, its Board of Directors, contractors, employees and volunteers, from any and all liability for any injury or death which may be suffered by the named individual(s) participating in programs operated by LGS Recreation, or arising out of, or in any way connected with participation in such programs. I have read the above application and agreement, and fully understand that I assume all risks for any such injuries or death.
PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE: I hereby grant permission to include pictures and/or video of me and/or said minor(s) (without the use of names), while participating in LGS recreation program, for brochures or other publicity, and release the photographer and LGS Recreation from liability for any violation of any personal or proprietary right I or my minor(s) might have in connection with any reproduction of or use of photographs in which I or my minor(s) appear. LGS Recreation and its photographer will only take photographs and videos in a public setting in which there is not a reasonable expectation of privacy. I understand that neither I nor my minor(s) will-not receive any compensation for the use of such pictures or video. This Waiver of Claims/Assumption of Risk/Consent applies to future participation in all programs of LGS by all signatories and minors on whose behalf it has been signed.
GENERAL PARTICIPATION BY MINORS: This Waiver of Claims/Assumption of Risk applies to participation in all programs of LGS by all signatories and minors on whose behalf it has been signed. I have fully read this Agreement and fully understand its content. Furthermore, the significance of this release of liability and assumption of risk agreement has been EXPLAINED TO THE MINOR. I certify that I have custody or am the legal guardian of said minor and that I and my minor child are physically able to participate in recreation activities. In the event I or said minor requires medical treatment while under the supervision of staff and/or agents, I authorize said staff to provide and/or authorize medical treatment. I expect staff to contact me immediately in the event emergency medical treatment is required for said minor, but this contact is not necessary to administer emergency aid. I will pay for all medical treatment which I or said minor may require.
DIGITAL REGISTRATION: Agreement to Term: LGS Recreation offers digital registration for the convenience of program participants. I agree that electronically registering for LGS Recreation activities, including clicking the “I agree” button, hereby constitutes a legally binding signature and agreement to all terms and conditions stated herein, and shall have the same binding force and effect as a physical signature.
CONCUSSION PROTOCOL: I understand and acknowledge that if participating in a program listed in CA Health and Safety Code 124235, the enrolled participant is subject to concussion protocol as outlined in CA Health & Safety Code 124235 which includes “Return to Play” procedures.
VIRTUAL CLASSES: Participants of virtual recreation classes acknowledge they are responsible for ensuring their environment is safe/free from obstructions and bear sole responsibility for, and thereby release LGS Recreation from, any liability arising out of use of third-party applications (e.g., Zoom, Instagram, etc.) on their personal devices.
COVID WAIVER: Public Health Requirements Related to Coronavirus/COVID-19 Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19 By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to, or infected by COVID-19 by attending, and/or transporting my children to, LGS Recreation programs, activities, or events, and of the named perils listed below. voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless LGS Recreation, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to the above-named perils in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance at LGS Recreation programs, including any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of LGS Recreation, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any LGS Recreation program.

Facility Rentals/ LGS Recreation is pleased to announce a new online facility request and rental system designed to provide a positive user experience for all. With the new system, reservation requests can be submitted easily and will be handled more efficiently. Renters will be able to access photos and descriptions, see real-time availability, get estimated quotes and pay online. These spaces can be used for both traditional and non-traditional meetings and events. The rooms are great for retreats, birthday celebrations, bridal/baby shower, job fairs, and more. Breakfast w/ Santa i
Join us for a magical morning of festive fun at our new and improved Santa experience. This is an enchanting occasion for the entire family, filled with holiday cheer and memorable moments. We encourage all participants to stay for the entire duration to fully enjoy all the delightful activities we have planned! There will be food, music, arts & crafts, and don’t forget the main event, private oneon-one time with Santa! While you wait for the your visit you can eat a delicious breakfast and Santa’s elves will be walking around to help you make your craft at your table. You will want to stay awhile so you can venture through Los Gatos’ very own Christmas train village and there will even be a heartwarming story time with a special treat at the end! Mark your calendars and bring your holiday spirit for a morning of family fun and festive celebration! We can’t wait to share this special time with you. Gingerbread House i 3 -17 YRS.
There’s magic awaiting boys and girls in this workshop! Decorate your very own traditional gingerbread house, and take home the sweet magic. Attendees will design, assemble, and decorate their very own unique creations. Fees are per child. Create your very own icy cottage or igloo mini village! We’ll use sugar cubes, frosty icing, candy decorations, and most importantly our imaginations to design, assemble, and decorate unique creations. We’ll finish off each build with a no-flame tealight to illuminate your little village with the magic of winter. CLUBHOUSE, AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT
NEW Program Alert! Clubhouse Bright Stars is a fun and engaging program where children will get the opportunity to participate in art and sensory activities along with outside play to help support motor development. We’ll exercise our imaginations through interactive songs, games, food projects, and colorful arts and crafts. Theme-related activities each month include story time, music and movement, arts & crafts, simple science, outdoor play, and exploration. Here at Bright Stars, our environment is play-based and set up to encourage growth and development. Your child will also be given the opportunity to socialize with other children and learn valuable social skills. We can’t wait to meet you!

Kids come to the program but stay for the experience. We understand kids need time to be kids. We offer your child that opportunity in a secure, nurturing, exciting, safe, explorative, and social environment. An interest based program that incorporates daily snacks, cooking projects, challenging arts and crafts, outdoor games and sports, science experiments and so much more. Our goal is provide an emotionally and physically safe time that meets the needs of parents and children within our community. We strive to create a home away from home atmosphere for all participants. Hours and fees vary upon care schedule selected at registration. The programs are in operation during the school year for children in grades TK-5.

We are a community-focused program dedicated to offering enriching sensory and art classes for babies and toddlers by creating a supportive and engaging environment where young children can explore, learn, and develop essential skills. Facilitated by New Parent Educator- Ali Glinsky
TODDLER & ME We offer a rich environment where kids can engage in a variety of activities that promote development and social skills. These classes help toddlers develop essential motor and social skills through engaging activities, provide a supportive environment for parents to share and learn, and create a fun environment to watch your child learn! BABY SENSORY CLASSES These classes are designed to stimulate your baby’s senses and support their early development. Activities include gentle music, textured toys, visual stimulation, and interactive play. Materials fee $5
PRESCHOOL SENSORY & ART EXPLORATION Join us for an engaging exploration of the seven elements of art: color, shape, line, texture, space, form, and value. This workshop is designed to stimulate your preschooler’s creativity and sensory development through hands-on activities. All materials are provided. Materials fee $10.

Young carpenters gain the skill and competence to complete increasingly more complicated projects. From boats to bird feeders, doll furniture, clocks, games, airplanes, and many more, the kids have a wide range of projects to choose from besides designing and building according to their own needs and imagination for the veteran carpenter. Youth Evolution Activities 3 -11 YRS. Basketball
BABY BALLERS will learn the fundamental steps necessary to understand the sport with parent/guardian’s participation and encouragement.
LEVEL I focuses on technique through the use of activities that subsequently help build on each other, helping the children to gradually increase their ability to do the basic skill to help them play the sport of basketball.
LEVEL II focuses on dribbling, passing, shot technique and teamwork. Adjustable hoops and appropriately sized basketballs are used to always provide just the right amount of challenge.
LEVEL III course is aimed to improve large motor skills, spatial awareness and teamwork. The instructor will focus on agility, drills become a bit more advanced and teach children how to perform under pressure of the clock and their opponents.

Pillar Point Hike
Near the charming town of Princeton in Half Moon Bay, lies a beautiful headland looking out over the Pacific Ocean. We will walk uphill to take in the view and then descend slowly to the beach. At the water, we will look for an exposed reef famous for its tide pools and seashore creatures. After lunch, we hike back over the headland to our cars and complete our day, walking about 5 miles total.

Tai Chi Chuan w/ Ken Andrade
Level 1 Students of all ages and abilities will focus on the first seven movements of the Yang Style Long Form, which are then tied into a self-contained and complete practice that students can do at home. The course introduces the history, a set of qigong warm-ups, several basic exercises, partner practices, and health tips form a Chinese medicine perspective.

Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan w/ Yan Zhang
BEGINNER Class combines theory, practice know-how, and Chinese traditional medicine wellness knowledge. Students will gain an understanding of wuology (the branch of Chinese martial arts knowledge) and rejuvenate their lives. In the beginner-level class, Yan will teach the Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan 103 forms for any level students.
INTERMEDIATE Students learn the internal energy flow (Nei4 jin4 in Chinese) and help the students use the internal energy flow to understand and correct their form practices. Students will also build up a solid foundation for advanced classes, such as pushhands and weapons.

Our Adult Leagues provide the community with an opportunity to participate in an organized sports activity. The Men’s Basketball League is open for participation for individuals 18 years of age and older. BEGINNING SKILLS will teach you the basic fundamentals and skills of tennis in a fun and exciting class. Player will also learn basic match play strategies and how to keep score.
ADVANCED BEGINNING SKILLS Build on the fundamentals of beginning tennis. Must have previous tennis experience. Racquet skills, coordination exercises and fundamentals are emphasized; each class builds on previous lesson.
PRACTICE & PLAY Class combines core development (groundstrokes, serves, volleys) with opportunities during class to apply learned skills in live ball play. A games-based class and is designed for players who have experience partner rallying.

Membership is $30 annually and includes access to a variety of groups, programs, classes, social events, guest lectures, art classes, services, and exclusive fitness programs. COVID WAIVER: Public Health Requirements Related to Coronavirus/COVID-19 Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19 By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to, or infected by COVID-19 by attending, and/or transporting my children to, LGS Recreation programs, activities, or events, and of the named perils listed below.
