The EEA Grants and Norway Grants

Europos ekonominės erdvės (EEE) ir Norvegijos parama yra Islandijos, Lichtenšteino ir Norvegijos įnašas mažinant socialinę ir ekonominę atskirtį Europoje bei stiprinant dvišalius santykius su 16 Europos Sąjungos šalių Centrinėje ir Pietinėje Europoje. Šias tris šalis ir kitas Europos valstybes sieja bendros vertybės ir atsakomybė už lygių galimybių ir tolerancijos sklaidą, saugumą, tvarią aplinką bei deramo gyvenimo lygio užtikrinimą.

The European Economic Area (EEA) Grants and Norway Grants represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to reducing economic and social disparities and to strengthening bilateral relations with 16 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe.

The three donor states also share common values and responsibility with other European countries to promote equality of opportunity, tolerance, security, environmental sustainability and a decent standard of living for all.

During the current funding period, democracy, good governance, human rights and empowering vulnerable groups are key concerns of the Lithuanian NGO programme. The programme also addresses issues such as hate speech, extremism, racism, homophobia, anti-Semitism, tolerance/ multicultural societies, Roma, sexual harassment, domestic violence, including gender based violence, and trafficking in persons. Under the human rights area the key issues are promotion and protection of civil and political rights and freedoms and combating discrimination.

Šiuo finansavimo laikotarpiu demokratijos, gero valdymo, žmogaus teisių ir pažeidžiamų grupių įgalinimo tematika yra pagrindinis dėmesio objektas Lietuvos NVO programoje. Programa taip pat apima tokias temas kaip neapykantos kalba, ekstremizmas, rasizmas, homofobija, anti-semitizmas, tolerancija/multikultūrinė visuomenė, romai, seksualinis priekabiavimas, smurtas šeimoje, įskaitant smurtą lyties pagrindu, bei prekyba žmonėmis. Žmogaus teisių srityje pagrindinės temos yra pilietinių ir politinių teisių ir laisvių sklaida ir apsauga bei kova su diskriminacija.

The EEA Grants and Norway Grants have funded initiatives aimed at fighting discrimination and promoting LGBT rights in Lithuania through NGO programmes active in 2004-2009 as well as 2009-2014.

During the 2009-2014 financing period, 84 million Euros in Norway Grants and EEA Grants support is allocated for Lithuania. The Grants’ support is channeled through 14 programs in areas of environment, human and social development, justice, cultural heritage, civil society and others.

Support to civil society is one of the key priorities of the EEA and Norway Grants, with NGO Programmes established in 15 beneficiary countries. Promoting democratic values and fighting discrimination, intolerance and social exclusion are central to the NGO programmes.

Parama pilietinei visuomenei yra vienas pagrindinių EEE ir Norvegijos paramos prioritetų. 15 gavėjų šalių yra įsteigtos nevyriausybinių organizacijų (NVO) programos. Demokratinių vertybių sklaida, kova su diskriminacija, netolerancija ir socialine atskirtimi yra pagrindiniai NVO programų ­tikslai.

For the period 2009-2014, €1.798 billion has been set aside under the Grants. Funding is channelled through 147 programmes. Environment and sustainable development, health, education, civil society, research and scholarships, justice and social dialogue are key areas of support. All programmes must adhere to standards relating to human rights, good governance, sustainable development and gender equality.
