At Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School Sixth Form we nurture every individual student in our care, giving them the support to find their place in the adult world as happy, healthy, fulfilled young people, ready for their future.

We hope you find this booklet useful in helping you gain a feel for the ethos of LGGS Sixth Form which is to stretch and challenge you to achieve your very best within a supportive and friendly environment.

A strength of the LGGS Sixth Form is the high quality teaching and learning. There is also a great deal of additional support available from staff, with help outside of lessons easily available. This high quality teaching contributes to the outstanding achievement of our Sixth Form, with the percentage of A-level grades at A*-B consistently above 70%.

The staff all work so hard, doing their absolute best for our children and laying those important foundation stones to help them to have happy and successful lives�

There are a wide range of extra curricular and enrichment activities available to students at LGGS. It is no wonder that LGGS students are able to impress university tutors with their love of their subject and gain places at the very best universities.

We all appreciate how fortunate they’ve been in attending LGGS. It’s been a blessing in an everchanging education system and had they attended any other school their experiences wouldn’t have compared.

A Sixth Form within the context of an 11 to 18 school has many advantages, not least the opportunity to develop leadership potential and work with younger students. Our Sixth Formers are role models for the younger students and play a vital role in the life of the school.
