It became apparent to us on our visit that these students think big, they have their eye on the top universities from the get go.

Teachers don’t tap them on the shoulder and plant the idea, they already have it by virtue of being at this school.

September 2022 Lancashire online application system goes live.

Friday 9th September 2022 Closing date for registration forms for LGGS. The LGGS online registration form must be submitted before 12.00 noon to ensure that your child is registered.

Acknowledgement emails are only sent on school days.

During the week of Monday 19th September 2022 the final test day arrangements with examination card to be posted to home addresses of those registered.

Our 2023 entry admissions tests will be held at LGGS on the morning of Saturday 24th September.

I N F O R M AT I O N Monday 31st October 2022 For Year 6 pupils, residing in Lancashire and attending Lancashire maintained primary schools, parents will be required to return the completed Lancashire LA Common Application form through an online application Parents of children not attending Lancashire maintained primary schools must return the form to the appropriate Area Education Office.

All parents must return their completed applications by: Monday 31st October 2022

By Wednesday 1st March 2023 The local authority will notify every parent in Lancashire who completed an application on behalf of all Lancashire maintained secondary schools, to inform them of their allocated secondary school place.

Parents will receive a letter by Thursday 6th October which will state either: • Your daughter has reached the required standard.

or • Unfortunately your daughter has not reached the required standard and the LGGS Admissions Committee cannot allocate a place.

RESIDUAL PLACES

• Only allocated once the needs of pupils residing in the District have been met.

• Priority to Looked After Children and Pupil Premium girls.

• Ranked according to scores achieved, with distance used if needed as a tie breaker.

RESIDUAL PLACES Parents of Residual pupils will receive one of the following letters: • Your daughter has reached the required standard and has been allocated a place by LGGS Admissions Committee. or • Your daughter has not reached the standard.

RESIDUAL PLACES

• Reached the required standard but the Admissions Committee has been unable to allocate a place as all 140 filled.

• Will be told the ranking so aware of position on the ‘list’.

EQUAL PREFERENCE SCHEME

• Must complete the Local Authority Common Application Form by Monday 31st October 2022 • 3 preferences in order • The school which can offer a place and is listed the highest will be offered to parents on Wednesday 1st March 2023
