Preparations for this report bring feelings of accomplishment, certainly for our students but also for the entire school community. Today’s Bears are busy and focused on goals that come to life through their coursework, athletic events, arts performances, and club activities. We also have the privilege of seeing them engage in a process of spiritual growth and sisterhood that will last a lifetime. As a school community, we have made some significant progress as well. We completed the work of the strategic plan, resulting in facility improvements, deeper relationships with alumnae and parents, curriculum updates and new advancement efforts. A primary focus of the plan was to build enrollment and I’m proud to say we have grown each year. We also took time this year to reflect on the Ursuline Academy mission statement. You will notice in these pages that it is shorter than the previous statement but what is consistent is a focus on students as lifelong learners, service, and the importance of St. Angela as a role model in their development as global citizens. As we look to the future, we have much to build upon. I’m especially grateful for the relationship that we all share with the Ursuline Sisters. They have done us all a major service by assuring that the charism of St. Angela will continue to thrive through the establishment of the Ursuline Education Foundation (UEF). While the partnership with UEF continues to evolve, there is no doubt that St. Angela is among us as we move forward. Among St. Angela’s many words of encouragement is the guidance to “Have hope and firm faith in God who will help you in everything.” I see this every day. And I especially see God’s hand in the generous support to Ursuline Academy from all of you this year. With gratitude,

SISTERHOOD AROUND THE WORLD: SOUTH AFRICA TRIP 28

Johannesburg, South Africa
Over two weeks in March, nine students experienced the culture and natural beauty of South Africa, in part as guests of fellow Ursuline students at Brescia House. The trip began in Cape Town, where the days were filled with sightseeing. They learned about Nelson Mandela at Cape Town City Hall, visited markets, toured Cape Town University and Hospital (site of the first human heart transplant), took drumming lessons and experienced local cuisine. The girls’ time in Johannesburg began with a warm welcome from the 12

student body at Brescia House. Time with host families enriched the trip through conversations that explored the differences in daily life across cultures while also finding the similarities among us. During the school day, students participated in classes and field trips. The most eye-opening activity was possibly participating in a service activity with their hosts - a Shave-a-Thon for

the benefit of young cancer patients - and coming to understand that Serivam reaches well beyond St. Louis. Even Mrs. Patterson, trip chaperone and UA theology teacher, got into the action by having her “locks” cut and donated to the cause. Our travelers came back with many stories that they happily shared with students in St. Louis as well as the Ursuline Academy Board of Trustees. Among their many insights from the trip were the significance of Ursuline sisterhood beyond national borders, how culture impacts perceptions of world events, that international travel requires an extra bit of patience and that albino squirrels really do exist!

The 2024–2025 Admissions Season was an exciting one for Ursuline Academy, culminating in an enthusiastic class of over 100 new Ursuline Bears! Acceptance Day was truly a celebration for each girl. Our newest Bears were surprised at home with a festive package complete with a personalized newspaper cover, a special Ursuline class sweatshirt, and a celebratory yard sign to proudly showcase their UA pride. Each student and her family also received a personalized video message from Director of Admissions, Heidi Krieger Burch ’12, welcoming them to the Ursuline family. That evening, our newest Bears and their families joined us on campus for Celebration Night, where they enjoyed food, drinks, and a candy bar, along with a chance to design their own hat at the Cherry On Top pop-up shop. Students also took part in a selfie scavenger hunt and did some Bear Den shopping,

while parents mingled and connected over refreshments with their new community. It was such a joyful start to their UA journeys! The Class of 2029 continued building friendships and school spirit throughout the spring, bonding at their Bowling Night in April, Freshmen Camp in May, and kicking off their high school experience with Viaggio Days. We can’t wait to see all that these young women will accomplish over the next four years!

COWORKER AWARDS Each year, one Ursuline Academy teacher is recognized as Teacher of the Year. This year, the award was made even more meaningful through a contribution in honor of Midge Corsi, the late grandmother of two former Ursuline students, Madi (‘17) and Ella (‘23) and one current UA student, Graceyn Corsi (‘27). Their grandfather, Jim Corsi, has chosen to recognize the passion for Catholic education and educators that he and Midge shared in a special way. Beginning this year, recipients of the Midge Corsi Teacher of the Year Award will be presented with a stipend in addition to recognition by the Kirkwood Rotary Club.

FOREVER URSULINE The first Saturday in October is a highly anticipated day marked by toasts, memories and laughter throughout campus! October 5, 2025 brought 411 Liners and Bears to campus to reconnect on the spot where it all began! ALUMNAE AWARDS
Each year two awards are given to outstanding Ursuline Academy St. Louis Alumnae. The Distinguished Alumna Award: Presented to an alumna who exemplifies in her public and private life the Christian ideals and standards of Ursuline, for distinguished service in her profession, her community, or to Ursuline Academy.
The Young Alumna Serviam Award: This annual award honors an outstanding alumna who, through her service, leadership and achievement, embodies the Serviam spirit of an Ursuline Academy education.
Jane Calacci Guenther ‘76 Distinguished Alumna 2025 Award Recipient
Dr. Kelly Balch Jobe ’01 Distinguished Alumna 2025 Award Recipient
Jane Calacci Guenther, Ursuline Academy Class of 1976, embodies the Serviam spirit through a life dedicated to serving God and others. Inspired by her family of educators, Jane has served with the Archdiocese of St. Louis PSR program, the Catholic Renewal Center, and Kenrick Glennon Seminary, significantly impacting the formation of religious men and women.
Dr. Kelly Balch Jobe, Ursuline Academy Class of 2001, exemplifies Ursuline Academy values through her commitment to children’s oral health and community service. Dr. Jobe owns and leads a successful dental practice, Kids Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, specializing in procedures such as frenotomies, which has established her as a leader in her field.
Jane has also served on the National Charismatic Renewal Services (CHARIS) board, Seminary Formation Council, and as a representative of North America on the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Service. Most recently, Jane was appointed to the USCCB’s National Eucharistic Revival Executive Team. Her tireless dedication and “life of yes” have profoundly impacted countless individuals.
Beyond her practice, Dr. Jobe serves in the role of Secretary/Treasurer for Give Kids a Smile, an organization that has provided free dental care to underserved children for nearly two decades. Her involvement in the Missouri Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Missouri Dental Association illustrate her commitment to excellence and desire to advocate for the best possible dental care for all.
Molly Walsh Henroid ’05 Young Alumna Serviam 2025 Award Recipient Granted Posthumously Molly Walsh Henroid, Ursuline Academy Class of 2005, lived a life deeply rooted in Serviam and driven by a strong faith in God. Even amidst personal challenges, Molly consistently prioritized the needs of others. She actively supported women facing unexpected pregnancies through Gabriel Retreat Ministries, offering love and support. Her involvement at St. Gabriel the Archangel and St. Gerard Parishes, specifically through ACTS retreats and other parish ministries, showcased her desire to share her faith. In her career, Molly’s service extended to Westminster College, St. John Vianney High School, Soulard School, and Kenrick Glennon Seminary. She truly exemplified a life dedicated to Serviam.

SECURING THE NEXT 175 YEARS On February 1, 2025, alumnae, coworkers, past and current parents and friends of Ursuline gathered for a lively auction offering a wide variety of must-haves! New to this year’s UA Soirée was the addition of a unique bourbon tasting experience. Proceeds from the Fund-A-Need are being used to update the technology in the Auditorium so that it can be put to maximum use as enrollment grows. With updated lighting, a new soundboard and additional screens, the Auditorium offers a nice option for masses, special events like Grandparents Day, and a variety of student activities. The UA Soirée is a night that brings the entire community together in a spirit of generosity. Students today and in the years to come all benefit from support generated during the event. We are blessed to also have several alumnae and parents involved as sponsors, which makes it possible to keep costs manageable and invest more into a campus that many call a home away from home. 38

Our participation in the 5th Annual Girls Schools Unite challenge resulted in some positive results for The Ursuline Fund! We are proud to share that our alumnae community pulled through and brought us up to a 5th place finish, at over 6% of UA alumnae making a gift throughout the challenge. In just 3 days, 436 alumnae spanning 65 classes raised nearly $26,000 for Ursuline! Plan to participate in the next installment of this friendly giving challenge on May 5-7, 2026, and make Ursuline #1!
