Viking Half SNAG Golf/Half Multi-Sports Camp

$350 Resident • $360 Non-Resident

Early registration fee is $300/child, valid through May 18th, so sign up early!

Viking’s Half SNAG Golf/Half Multi-Sports Camp is an excellent way to get your kid excited about golf. Viking adopted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) program to teach new golfers how to play this enjoyable lifelong sport. Our coaches understand the importance of fundamentals of form in teaching swinging, putting, and body positioning. The SNAG system uses modified equipment to implement the curriculum developed by PGA professionals. Viking provides all the equipment for this very popular program. At this camp, we spend half our day working and developing golf skills and the other half of the day playing the sports and games we play at our super popular multi-sports games. What’s really neat is we still do our world famous Tournament Day at the end of the week, but this week it also includes a golf skills competition as part of the games! All players receive a Viking Sports T-shirt.

Youth Spring Tennis Lessons

Led by instructor Barry Ndinya, the Spring Youth Tennis Lessons are designed to introduce children ages 6 to 14 to the life-long sport of tennis. The participants will learn the basic rules of the game, work on stroke development and serves (when appropriate) through drills and games. Lessons are held at the Valley Tennis Courts on Valley Road. Enrollment is limited to 10 per class and participants must bring a tennis racquet.

Youth Summer Tennis Lessons

Our Youth Tennis staff is looking forward to a fun summer! Instructors will teach children techniques and principles established by the USTA using the Net Generation curriculum with an exciting lesson and play format for learning tennis, designed to bring children into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions, and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. Lessons will take place each week Monday through Friday (rain or shine) unless otherwise noted. All lessons will be held at the Clarke Tennis Courts at the Clarke Middle School, which are accessible using Brookside Avenue. Lessons will have 6:1 children-to-staff ratio. Participants must bring a tennis racquet, sunscreen, and a water bottle.

Adaptive Tennis Lessons

Adaptive Tennis Lessons are available to children and teens who identify with having a disability and/or may require additional support and modifications to be successful within the program. The lessons are run at a slower pace with smaller class sizes and staff who have been trained to work with individuals of all abilities. All levels are welcome as the class will go over basic strokes while playing games, practicing skills, providing social interaction with others, and having fun!

Forever Fit with Judy Whitney–FREE

This program is funded by a generous grant from the Dana Home Foundation. On a scale of 1-10, how fit are you? Many times, we blame difficulty bending, walking upstairs, carrying groceries, weight gain, overall fatigue and slowing down as "getting old" rather than being "out of shape." Just as being “out of shape” can happen at any age, getting back “in shape’ can happen at any age too! Whether your goal is to develop strength, build endurance, improve balance, increase flexibility and agility, reduce stress, we can help you. We use modifications and rely on many fitness disciplines to empower each person to succeed. There are three components to this program: individual assessments, group instruction and working one-to-one with an expert Personal Trainer, skilled in determining the best way to achieve mutually agreed upon goals.

Over the past seven years, the Dana Home Foundation has generously offered this program to empower their senior citizens to learn how to become stronger, healthier and more physically fit. This grant has been renewed again due to the recent successes of its participants. We urge you to seriously consider accepting this gift of wellness to empower you to be Forever Fit!

Classes are Monday and Wednesday at 2:15 pm. One to one sessions will be by appointment only. Register to attend an info meeting with Judy Whitney on April 19th at 2:30 pm, in person or zoom. Forever Fit Class Registration will open after the meeting. For more information please email Judy Whitney: judithawhitney@gmail.com
