Experiential Education
Experiential Education, Lexington Catholic’s new job shadowing course, is an excellent opportunity for students to get a glimpse into the working world and explore different career paths. The program allows students to observe professionals in their respective fields, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of what the day-to-day work entails. Experiential Education is built around three components: Career Exploration, Professionalism & Work Ethic and Reflection.
Career Exploration exposes students to various career paths and help them identify their interests and strengths. Students explore different industries, learn about the educational and training requirements for different professions, and gain insights into job prospects and potential salaries. Students learn about the necessary skills and qualities for success in different fields, develop networking skills, and gain insights into the hiring process. The exposure to different professions and industries allows students to make informed decisions about their future education and career paths.
Professionalism & Work Ethic gives students opportunity to observe professionals in their respective fields. Students learn about the expectations and behaviors that are necessary for

By observing professionals who are passionate and dedicated to their work, students learn about the importance of hard work, perseverance, and selfmotivation. Reflection offers opportunities after each job shadowing experience for students to reflect on what they learned, what they enjoyed, and what they found challenging. This reflection helps students identify their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their areas of interest.
