Wayne Edward Bohn, 88, passed away from Alzheimer’s disease on Jan. 2, 2025, at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg, PA. Born February 29, 1936, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Daniel C. Bohn and Zelda L. (Martin) Bohn Magee.

Mona L. Barnes

Mona L. Barnes, 88, of Thompsontown, passed away at 8:07 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025 at her residence.

Born on Sept. 30, 1936 in Turbett Township, Juniata County, she is a daughter

School, where he was a top athlete, excelling in both football and baseball. As a football player, “#33” served as a star running back, advancing to several regional allstar games and a listing as an alternate on the US High School All-American Team. Professional baseball teams had a strong interest in Wayne as well, and he was invited to try out for the Pittsburgh Pirates on three occasions. He ultimately chose to attend Lycoming College on a full football scholarship.

After college, Wayne became a soldier in the US Army, where he proudly served as a teletype operator with the 229th Signal Company in Stuttgart, Germany, before receiving an honorable discharge. Back in the states, he resettled with his wife and daughters in Camp Hill, while working at Bethlehem Steel, where he retired from its carpentry shop in 2001.

Sports remained a constant in his life. Sharing

On Sept. 30, 1955, she married her surviving husband, James D. Barnes, with whom she was blessed to share over 69 years of marriage before her passing.

his love for football, he became “Coach Wayne,” lending his talents and football leadership to hundreds of young men in the pee-wee and midget leagues for the West Shore Vikings in the 1970s. His passion for sports and lifelong athleticism kept him active for many years to come. He was an avid bowler and played in several bowling leagues as an adult. He became an excellent golfer in his later years as well, where he had an enviable handicap in various leagues. When not playing sports, making room for yet another trophy on his shelf, or mentoring, he loved to watch just about any sport, either on television or in person, especially Penn State football and the New York Yankees.

Wayne is best remembered as a soft-spoken, fair, funny, and generous father, brother, friend, and mentor.

Mrs. Barnes enjoyed word searches, jumbles, watching TV, and going for car rides; however, her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Evelyn G. Benner, 97, of

Born April 3, 1927 near Thompsontown, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Whitely and Vera (Kepler) Graybill. Her husband, Samuel Benner Jr., whom she married Oct. 6, 1946, died on May 17, 2009. Also preceding her in death was an infant brother, Jimmy Graybill.

Vo-Tech School in 1976 as a licensed practical nurse. She worked as an LPN for more than 20 years at Lewistown Hospital, then as a visiting hospice nurse and her last employment was at Brookline Manor.

She was a very active life-time member of Free Spring Church of the Brethren where she was especially involved with their music program. She also sang in the Juniata County Choir for many years. She was a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and she volunteered with Hospice and with Juniata Meals On Wheels. She was a proud farm wife, helping her husband on their family farm and cooking and canning their homegrown vegetables. She also enjoyed sewing and making quilt tops and was a 4-H sewing club leader for many years. She was dedicated to her family, especially to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charles was a 1961 graduate of Rothrock High School and served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Before retiring he was employed as a proofreader and editor at several newspapers in San Francisco and San Jose for many years.

Charles was a beloved father, son, and brother; as well as an avid reader.

In his retirement years, he attended many reunions and was devoted to preserving the memory of those who served in the 8th Air Force, and of the B-24 that brought him safely home every time. He was an active and longstanding member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lewistown, and Masonic Lodge #203 of Free and Accepted Masons, receiving his 70 year pin in 2021. He was also a life member of The American Legion (Post 90) and Veterans of Foreign Wars (Post 7011).

Martin Luther

‘Marty’ Bradley

Martin Luther “Marty” Bradley, 77, of Lewistown, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at his home.

Born March 30, 1947, in Burnham, he was the child of John L. Bradley Sr (1957) and Beatrice Lydia (Shotzberger) Bradley (1993), and was always happy to call himself a Burnham boy.

Marty was welcomed into eternity by his parents, nine siblings, Robert Rhea Bradley, John L. Bradley Jr., Dorothy Kahley, Anna Ferguson, Patricia Shilling, Carol McVey, Nancy Decker, Joseph Bradley, Keith Bradley, and a great-grandbaby.

He is deeply missed by his family members in this world: spouse of 54 years, Aldaloretta “Aldie” C. (Murphy) Bradley, whom he married at Holy Communion Lutheran Church,

Yeagertown, on Sept. 12, 1970; daughter, Jennifer Rothwell and husband, Marty, of Centreville, Va.; and son, Todd Bradley and wife, Barb, of Pittsburgh.

Marty cherished his role as Grandpa “Pap” and Great-Grandfather, often treating his grandchildren to his signature mean milkshakes for breakfast when they were visiting. His grandchildren and their spouses are: Jonathan and Nicole Rothwell of Fredericksburg, Va., Michael and Linda Rothwell of Manassas Park, Va., Javan Rothwell of Leesburg, Va., Hannah and Donyor Jumaniyozov of Fergana, Uzbekistan, Benjamin and Eufrasia Rothwell of Amissville, Va., Alex Bradley of Pittsburgh, and Jeffrey Bradley of Lewistown. Marty’s surviving ten great-grandchildren are: Isaiah, Emilia, Noah, Kairi, Genevieve, Elijah, Grace, Abigail, Monroe, Lincoln. Also surviving is his sister, Deborah Steele, of Burnham, and many nephews and nieces who were dearly loved by their Uncle Marty.

Marty was deeply devoted to his community and bore great witness to his children and grandchildren, many of whom also have careers in public safety and military occupations. After graduating from Chief Logan High School in 1966, Marty served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of Fame and City Fire Companies and past volunteer of West Gran-

Delmar F. Benner

Delmar F. Benner, 81, of Linglestown, joyously arrived in heaven at 9:53 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 at Capitol Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Harrisburg.

Born on Oct. 18, 1943 inty, he is a son of the late Harold L. and Mary Naomi (Frymoyer) Benner. On Nov. 23, 1965, he married his surviving beloved wife, Mary Ann (Shugarts) Benner, with whom he was blessed to share over 59 years of marriage before his passing.

Gerald B. “Clem” Clelan, 88, of Lewistown, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at Greenwood Village.

He was born on July 10, 1936, in Lewistown, and was the son of the late George J. Clelan and Isabelle M. (Brown) Clelan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Col. Joseph Clelan.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly M. (Smithers) Clelan, whom he married Oct. 24, 1959; children, Kelly J. Schaeffer and husband, Carl, of Lewistown, Kerry A. Royer and husband, Ron, of York, Kris B. Clelan and husband, Jay Hoff, of Bellefonte; grandchildren, Kacey Settine and husband, Gregory, Lizzie Thomas and husband, Brett, Bailey Hoff, and Henry Hoff; great- grandchildren, Eva Thomas and Camden Thomas; and a sister, Martha Lynch, of Oregon.

Clem was a member of First United Methodist Church and loved to sing hymns at the top of his lungs and often could be heard singing them wherever he was.

He was a 1954 graduate of Lewistown High School and attended Clemson University. He was also a United States Army veteran.

Clem worked at Standard Steel for 21 years. After leaving the Standard he started his business in 1985, Clelan Industries and Felmlee Fishing Lures.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, which he loved more than words can say. He had three daughters whom he adored. He was the best girl Dad that there could be, teaching his girls softball, football, tire changing, mathÖ He was an -

den but never learned how to stay out of the kitchen. He also had a love for Penn State and the Phillies. He and his beloved wife of 65 years, loved to travel the United States (49 states) and many countries abroad.

Nancy Ann Davis-Hosler, 86 of Beaver Springs, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. She was the wife of Nelson Hosler. The couple would have celebrated their 35th anniversary this May.

Born on Sept. 12, 1938 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles Z. and Dorothy Mae (Shirey) Norton. Nancy graduated from Lewistown High School in 1956. For 37 years, Nancy worked as an Aide for Sun Home Health Service. She previously worked as a bartender at the McClure American Legion and Brass Rail Inn. She was a caring person and a mother to many. Her greatest love in life was her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren

and her animals.

In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her children: John S. He was employed over the years by American Sand and Glass, North American Brick Yard, Standard Steel, and retired from Over Head Door. Clair was a lifetime member of the Mount Union American Legion Post 107. He enjoyed taking rides through sugar valley, looking for mushrooms,

horseshoes, and feeding the many animals that came to visit him. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, Penn State Wrestling, Philadelphia Eagles Football, but most of all just being home on the porch swing with his family.

She is survived by: four children, Shirley Reynolds, Christine Eversole, William Eversole Jr. and wife, Heather, Stephanie Kearns and husband, Will; eight grandchildren, Daniella Reynolds, Brittni Reynolds, Paige Kearns, Bradyn Eversole, Parker Kearns, Abby Eversole, Peyton Kearns, Cole Eversole; two great-grandchildren, Kale Kellander, Andreas Aparicio. Having been raised in the Philippines and holding a close Filipino community she leaves behind nieces, nephews, family and friends. Sandra worked hard her entire life supporting her family as a young girl and selling fried rice from banana leaves. Her husband, William, fell in love with her at the fried rice stand. This rice has become a family must have for every get together! She gave birth to herippines and bravely moved

to the US without any knowledge of language or culture. She learned the language, became a U.S. citizen and raised her children to be just as strong and powerful as she was. She was so proud of and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren so very much. She hosted many parties for family and friends and her home is the center of the family get together’s. She loved the hustle and bustle of all the family talking, playing, laughing and eating! She never let anyone go hungry or without a coat! She worked for Sanyo and the Giant and worked harder than anyone. With William, “Pap” she “Gram” ran the Nittany Den and Bill’s Produce. An avid and very enthusiastic sports fan she LOVED Penn State football and baseball’s Fightin’ Phillies! She was the loudest cheerleader for all her grandchildren’s sporting events! She never let on if she was in pain and always kept a positive attitude; even through her leukemia diagnosis in 1993. She fought leukemia for decades against the gravest of odds. Sandy loved her slot machines and always wanted “one more spin”. She will now have all the spins she can hope for sitting beside Bill in a big casino in the sky. She will be incredibly missed and is irreplaceable.

Clarence “Butch” Albert Ettinger, 72, of Lewisburg, entered into rest at 1:06 p.m., Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born Nov. 29,

Clarence was a loving, devoted, kindhearted and caring husband and father. He loved his family and friends with all his heart. Clarence enjoyed listening to Porter Wagoner, spending time with his family, and transporting the Amish. He always found happiness and joy even inence will be dearly missed by everyone!

Jay William Guyer Sr., 96, of East Salem, passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025 at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born on Nov. 29, 1928, in Thompsontown, Juniata County, he is a son of the late David Wharton and Gladys C. (Miller) Guyer. On Sept. 23, 1951, he married his surviving wife, Dolores Elaine (Winey) Guyer, with whom he was blessed to share over 73 years of marriage before his passing.

Mr. Guyer honorably served our country as a Veteran of Foreign War in the US Army during the Korean War and had proudly served in Germany.

Jay was employed and retired after over 30 years of service to Conrail, Pennsylvania Railroad,

and Penn Central.

His memberships included the East Salem Otterbein Global Methodist Church; the NRA; Newport American Legion Post No. 177; and was an original founding member of the Delaware Township Fire Company No. 6 in East Salem.

He enjoyed going to and participating in car shows and parades with his 1935 Model T pickup and enjoyed hunting; however, his greatest joy came from time spent with his beloved family.

William J. “Bill” Goss, 84, of Milroy, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

He was born on Feb. 17, 1940, in Milroy, to the late Cloyd J. and Maryann (Lingle) Goss.

He is survived by 10 nieces and nephews, including his beloved niece, Sheila “Tink,” who provided devoted care and shared a special bond with him throughout his life. He is also survived by a number

of great and great-great nieces and nephews, and siblings: James J. Goss of Milroy, Sara L. Schlegel of Milroy, and Barbara J. Foltz and husband, Stephen, of Milroy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Mary Helen Goss, Dorothy Fiedler, Margaret C. Aitkin, and Joyce Ann Goss, and brothers-in-law: Mearl Schlegel and Perry E. Aitkin.

He was a life-long dairy farmer, who loved his cows like they were his own children. In his earlier years when farming, he was a member of the PA Farmer’s Association.

He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his two great-great nephews, Kason and Jaxon.

Born on May 7, 1931 in Delaware Twp., Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late Ralph and Tillie (Lantz) Freed. On June 30, 1950, she married her late husband, J. Frederick Heath, with whom she was blessed to share over 62 years of marriage before his passing on July 2, 2012. She is survived by her children, Dennis F. Heath and his wife, Lois, of Mount Pleasant Mills and Debbie C. Winey and her husband, Guy, of Mount Pleasant Mills; four grandchildren, Stacey Snyder and her husband, Lonnie, Jill Witherite and her husband, Jeffrey, Jason Winey and his wife, Nicole, and Seth Heath and his wife, Amanda; six great grandchildren, Laura McMillen and her husband, Josh, Carson Witherite and his Lydia Witherite, Kalyssa

Heath, Callen Winey, and Kensi Winey; two great great grandchildren, Isaac McMillen and Ezekiel McMillen; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Heath was a 1949 graduate of Thompsontown High School and a member of the Thompsontown Global Methodist Church.

She enjoyed bingo and playing Farkle and other card and board games.

Major Herbert B. Hamilton Jr, 89, of Lewistown, passed away on Jan. 20, 2025, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born on Aug. 9, 1935, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Herbert B. Hamilton Sr. and Sara (Siebert) Hamilton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Clarence W. Hamilton, Helen J. ‘Honey’ Hamilton, and Elsie Mae Ramsey.

Thelma Mae Johnston, 89, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 3, 2025, at Greenwood Village Nursing Home in Lewistown. Born March 10, 1935, in daughter of the late James and Myra (Maurer) Pyle. She was preceded in death in 2010 by her husband, Jack, who she shared 51 years with. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mona Lou Hunter, in 2001.

Thelma is survived by her daughter and son- inlaw, Brenda and Rob Hagenberger of Lewistown. Also surviving are her brother and sister- in-law, Jim and Pat Pyle of Mentor, Oh. as well as several nieces and nephews.

Thelma was a loving wife and mother who whole-heartedly devoted her time and effort to her home and family. Her vast collection of craft books, cookbooks, and sewing supplies showed her love of creating things whether in the kitchen, at her sewing machine, or making some arts and crafts projects. She enjoyed gardening, nature, and most of all listening to her beloved Jack play the piano. Interment will be in Watts Cemetery, Curwensville, Pa. with a private family service.

Margaret A. “Peggy” Kepner, 77 of Inverness, Fla. and former resident of Lewistown, entered the gates of heaven with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024.

Born Jan. 20, 1947, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Ray I. and Margaret E. (Snyder) Strauser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rannels A. Kepner Jr, on April 25, 2020 and a brother, Larry R. Strauser, on April 21, 1999.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy and husband Douglas Lash, of Prescott, Ariz., sister, Beverly Manbeck, of York and brother, Ned Strauser, of Las Vegas, Nev.

She graduated from Chief Logan High School and obtained her cosmetology license. She owned and operated Peggy’s Beauty Shop in Highland Park for 30 years. After moving to Florida, she worked at the Key Training Center in Inverness and volunteered at Blessing in a Backpack until retiring.

Christine Anne Maugans

Christine Anne Maugans, 86, of Lewistown, passed away at 1:44 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, in Lewistown.

Born May 19, 1938, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edward P. Sr. and Edith V. (Buchanan) Maugans.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward P. Maugans Jr. and David A. Maugans, and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Aurand.

Christine is survived by: children, Kathryn A. (Aurand) Schleifer and husband, Nathan, of Nipomo, Calif., Elizabeth A. (Aurand) Yute and husband, Douglas, of Allison Park, David M. Aurand, and Jennifer A. Aurand and husband, Richard A. Rhoads, both of Lewistown; eight grandchildren, Nicole L. (Baker) Bernacet and husband, Jon Manny, and Joshua D. Baker and wife, Dianna, both of Bedford, Benjamin Wilt and wife,

Kelly, of Morristown, N.J.; Jordan Schleifer, of Nipomo, Calif., Anna (Aurand) Cary and husband, Spencer, of Kailua, Hawaii, Sophia (Aurand) Skidgel and husband, Tanner, of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; Rebekah (Yute) Elliott and husband, Chandler, of Auburn, Ga., and Joshua Yute, of Atlanta, Ga.; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School and a member of the State College Municipal Band. Christine was employed for most of her life as a bank teller. Most recently, she was employed by thetrict as a teacher’s aide. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Born on April 18, 1940, in Granville, Edgar was the cherished son of the late Glenn and Della (Weaver) Porch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Harris, and his brother, Claire Porch. Edgar is survived by

his devoted wife, Cindy (Rhoades) Porch, and his loving stepchildren: David Koch and his wife, Trina, of Lewistown; Michael Koch and his late wife Kathy; and Nicole Henry of Hanover. He was a proud grandfather to David Bender and his wife, Chelsea, Andrea Alcalde and husband Diego, and Jesie Crouse and her husband, Justin, and a beloved great-grandfather to Liam and Everly Bender, and Chase and Ben Alcalde. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Porch, and his wife, Doris, of Bradford.

Edgar dedicated 20 years of service to his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard. In his later years, he worked as a manager at Your Building Center in Lewistown.

An avid outdoorsman, Edgar found great joy in he especially cherished watching his great-grandson Liam play baseball.

Charles C. Price, 73, of Lewistown, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at his home.

Born Oct. 29, 1951, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Ordean and Mabel (Applebye) Price.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen (Allen) Price; and a brother, Ed Price.

He is survived by children, Douglas Spicher, of East Waterford, Timmy Blyer, Cynthia Blyer, Stephanie Blyer, Tonya Blyer, and Michael Blyer, all of Lewistown; many loving grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; brothers, Galen Price and Gerrell Price, both of Mount Union; niece, Crystal Price; nephew, Galen Price Jr.; and many other nieces and nephews.

‘Dorie’ M. Remensnyder

Doris “Dorie” M. Remensnyder, 93, of Belleville, was called home on Jan. 13, 2025.

She was born Jan. 26, 1931, in Pittsburgh to George and Mary McComb. Her husband of 59 years, David Remensnyder, preceded her in death in 2015.

Dorie graduated from Penn State University with a degree in education, as she adored children. While raising her family she volunteered with Big Valley Ambulance Club, Hospice Care and worked as a substitute teacher. She later worked in special education, often inviting her students and other children to her home or to join our family outings.

She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the prayer group. She was a prayer warrior and prayed for all in need. Certainly, one of her last acts was praying for others.

She and her late husband loved to travel, camping at state and national parks throughout the US, and often spending winters in Florida. She loved nature and wildlife, and especially loved dogs. She was skilled at sewing, and a wonderful cook, always keeping her hands busy. She enjoyed swimming, gardening, reading and dog-sitting, but most of all spending time with family. She spent her life being kind, loving and compassionate to others. Above all else she loved the Lord and her family immensely. She was our family’s matriarch, and we feel so blessed to have had the kind, loving, compassionate Mom and Grammy she was to all of us.

Dorie has four children, six grandchildren, seven

great grandchildren, one brother and three nephews. She leaves behind her three sons: Dale (Linda) Remensnyder of Alexandria, their three daughters and families: Julie (Brandon) Allison, Sydney and Lincoln of Sykesville, MD, Jessica (Evan) Wagner, Jarren and Vaida of LandO-Lakes, FL and Janell Remensnyder, Miles and Elias of Alexandria; Don Remensnyder of Allensville (companion Cheri Freeh); Dirk (Kelley) Remensnyder of Lewisburg, their sons Blake Remensnyder of Lewistown, and Kyle Dute (Jessie Kirkwood) of Fresno, CA; and one daughter: Danna Remensnyder (Chad Viator), her son Cade Fox, daughter Reece Fox, son Matias all of Lawrenceville, GA, and many grand-dogs; her brother Ben (Judy) McComb of Evergreen, CO and three wonderful nephews, Mark, Mike and Neil McComb all in CO; and many dear friends.

Violet V. Stuck, 88, of Beaver Springs passed away on Friday, Jan. 10 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 2, 1936 in Spring Twp., Snyder Co., a daughter of the late Mazon and Carrie (Rheam) Knepp. On May 29, 1953 she married Robert G. Stuck Sr. who preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2020.

Violet attended Beaver Vocational High School.

She was a member of Manbeck’s Church in Beaver Springs.

Violet enjoyed gardenand coloring. She will always be known as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

Carrie dedicated her life to making a difference in the lives of others, serving as a guidance counselor at Spring Grove Area High School for 20 years. Her infectious energy, radiant smile, and unwavering belief in the potential of every student earned her the admiration of colleagues, students, and parents alike. She wasn’t just a counselor; she was and a lifeline for countless

young people navigating the challenges of life. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian; her two daughters, Eleanor and Adelaide; her mother, Barbara H. Henry; and a large circle of dear friends. She was preceded in death by Ronald P. Henry (father), Mary Catherine Geibel Hummel (her grandmother she affectionately called Neme), Jeff L. Pauline L. Stoner, 83, of Lewistown, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2024, at her home.

Born on July 6, 1941 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Marion L. (Sheaffer) Ernest.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee A. Stoner Sr.; and a grand-

Ronald was a 1966 graduate of West Snyder High School and went on to graduate from Penn State with an associate’s degree in agriculture in 1968.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church of Beavertown.

Ronald worked at the Klingler Feed Mill in Middlecreek and then went on to work at the Agronomy Center in Thompsontown. He retired from WoodMode in 2011 with more than 30 years of service.

He enjoyed hunting,ald loved NASCAR and amusement parks, especially Knoebel’s. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Born on Feb. 7, 1939, in McClure, PA, Clayton spent his entire life in his hometown, where he developed a deep love for raising and training quarter horses. His dedication to his work and his passion for animals left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Clayton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1964, as part of the 491st Engineer Battalion. His service was a testament to his commitment and sense of duty.

On July 1, 1995, Clayton married the love of his life, Billie M. Shawver. Together, they built a life passions. He is survived by his devoted wife, Billie, and his daughter, Casey J. Shawver.

A memorial will be held this summer at Moondust Meadows, with the date and time to be determined. Though Clayton has departed this world, his love for horses, his sense of humor, and his devotion to his family will be remembered and cherished forever.

Clayton was a proud member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the American Legion. His lifelong love of horses led him to be a dedicated member of the American Quarter Horse Association for over 50 years, where he contributed greatly to the equestrian community.

Anne L. Smith, 84, of Reedsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jacob E. Smith, Sr. for 32 years before his passing in 2008.

Eloise Marie Spade

Baby Girl Eloise Marie Spade entered this world silently but was lovingly embraced into the arms of Jesus on Jan. 8, 2025. Though her time on earth was brief, she leaves behind a legacy of love and hope in the hearts of her family.

Darlene C. Snook

Darlene C. Snook, 75, of Lewistown, peacefully passed away on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at the William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on July 26, 1949, in Lewistown, Darlene was a daughter of the late Guy and Violet (Spigelmyer) Snook.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Eric Snook, and his companion, Mildred Taylor, of McAlisterville; her brother, Gerald Snook; her sister, Darlis Huffman, of McClure; three grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Darlene found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially playing bingo and spending time with her beloved dog, Sheba.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

TMichael H. Truscott

Michael H. Truscott, 63, of McVeytown, passed away at 12:55 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025 at Brighton Rehabilitation Nursing Facility in Beaver.

Born on April 27, 1961, he was the son of the late Merle and Mary Truscott and grandson of the late Homer and Edith Truscott.

Mike is survived by four siblings: Lori Haase and husband, Bruce, of Lewistown, Amber Truscott, of Lewistown, Heather Miller, of Reedsville and Jimmy Miller, of Lewistown; nephew Nathan Haase, of Lock Haven; niece Kelly Haase of State College; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Mike loved his family. He was excellent at hanging dry wall, and loved watching T.V and reading, especially about cars and motorcycles.

Cremation services will be preformed by Lutton funeral Services, Beaver County.

There will be no funeral services.

Interment, to be determined.

Sharon Louise Varner, 69, of State Route 103 South, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born July 30, 1955 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Harry and LaRue (Kratzer) Huffman. Her husband, Melvin T. Varner, whom she married May 7, 1997, survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Eric K. Randolph and wife, Belinda, of Lewistown; a daughter, Ashley D. Heim and husband, Nicholas, of Bea-

vertown; four stepdaughters, Melissa Varner of Lewistown, Susan Fraine and husband, Jerrod, of Lewistown, Sandy Metzger and husband, Jeffrey, of Siglerville, Karen Dunn and husband, Josh, of Milroy; four sisters, Mary Frances Huffman of Lewistown, Pearl D. Ross of Lewistown, Joan A. Mowry and husband, Dennis, of Lewistown, and Wanda F. Shields of McVeytown; and 14 grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was a brother, David L. Huffman, in 2000.

She was formerly employed at Scotty’s Fashions and Trinity Plastics in Lewistown.

Sharon was a member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending the Belleville Sale.

A funeral service was to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025 at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, 61 Pine Glen Rd., Lewistown, with Pastor Interment was to be in Pine Glen Cemetery.

A viewing was to be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.

Beryle “Becky” A. Wiser, 95, formerly of McClure, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024. She passed peacefully at her daughter’s home in Delaware, where she resided.

Born Sept. 15, 1929, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Gertrude (Zook) Goss.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and Navy Veteran, Wesley W. Wiser, on Sept. 28, 2012; and her siblings, Richard, Percy, Kenneth, Lawrence and Ruth Goss, Mildred Roush, Shirley Weaver, Dorothy Goss and a stillborn Infant. She was the last surviving sibling.

She is survived by: her four children, Dennis Wiser and wife, Brenda, of Reedsville, Karen Evins and husband, Danny, of

Beryle was a former member of the First Church of the Brethren, in Lewistown.

She was a homemaker for many years and in later years, she was employed and retired from Kinney Shoes in Beaver Springs.

Beryle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved being around her family and friends.

A viewing was held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with a funeral service followed at 11 a.m., with Reverendating.

Interment was to be held at Juniata Memorial Park.

After his military service, Ken drove truck for Sullivan Lines. He helped his brother, Pete, on the farm throughout Pete’s illness, drove truck and was a mechanic for his brother, Earl, for Kaplan Trucking, and retired from Fenner Trucking.

He was a lifelong member of Centre Lutheran Church where he held various roles in Sunday school and on church council.

He loved hunting, butchering with the Books, and walking in the woods. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

There was to be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23 at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S.

Military honors will be accorded by the Juniata Co. Veterans Council at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, McAlisterville. Wanda J. Wagner, 82 formerly of Lewistown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the wife of Melvin W. Wagner for 34 years before his passing.

Born on Sept. 12, 1942 in Derry Township, she was a daughter of the late James M. and Geneva M. (Stuck) Ferguson. In addition to her husband and parents, Wanda is preceded in death by six siblings.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
