Winter Decoration Reminders
• Winter Seasonal decorations must be removed by March 19th Winter decorations consist of snowmen, snowflakes and winter wreaths etc. Please note, immediate removal may be required of any decorations, alterations, additions or fixtures which are made or installed without Agent’s prior written consent.
* Holiday decorations are restricted to first story gutters. Please Note - December Holiday decorations should have been removed by January 10th. December decorations consist of Santa Claus, presents, lights, blow up characters, wreaths with ornaments, stockings, holiday trees etc. If your trash District day falls on a holiday your Garbage collection may be delayed by a Schedule business day
Garbage Pick-up Schedule: Have your garbage curbside by 5:30 a.m. on your designated day. Landscaping services are currently included in your rent. On your lawn service day, you will need to ensure that your lawn is free of toys and personal belongings so the mowers can cut your grass. You can have one large non movable item in your yard such as a swing set or trampoline. Please see your District Office for Outdoor Policies. The mowers will cut within two (2) feet of the item. You will be responsible to cut the grass under and the two (2) feet around the item. * You may choose to maintain your own lawn if desired. Contact your District Office for a sign to put in your window. If the home you live in has a fence either provided or installed by you, you are responsible for the maintenance of your yard. ***All flowerbeds adjacent to your home are your responsibility to maintain weed-free. Failure to maintain may result in fines.
Pets & Resident Responsibilities It is your responsibility to take care of your pet(s) Any and all pet(s) and animal(s) approved by Lessor must be kept inside the residence at all times except when on a leash or when securely confined in your fenced backyard, provided the fence is approved by management and is of adequate size and strength to restrain the animal. Pets are not to be tied up and left unattended if there is no fence. Pet owners are responsible for disposing of their pet’s waste immediately, whether the pet is on a leash or in a fenced area. Sustainable JBLM What do I do with all this packaging material?

Consider reuse as the first option. Think about ways you can reuse any of the material that came with your recent purchase. Did it come with cornstarch pellets? Kids love to make recycled art with those colored squishy pellets. You can lick & stick them together or put on a piece of construction paper (Valentine’s Day hearts, anyone?). Recycling can be confusing but in essence it is about supply and demand. Technically, almost everything is recyclable. However, it does not mean that there is a manufacturer that wants to buy and make it into something new. For example, the price of oil, which is used to make many different kinds of plastics, is now very low. For that reason the price manufacturers will pay for plastics collected for recycling has also dropped. So there are fewer plastic items being recycled. Deli containers, clamshell-style containers and drink cups go in the trash whereas plastic bottles, yogurt cups, and detergent jugs can go in your recycling cart.

Cardboard boxes can be recycled at the Recycling centers on Joint Base LewPLASTIC is-McChord, or put into your grey housing recycling bin for pickup. Residents can also deposit the boxes & packing material in the conex at the Lewis Main recycle center for reuse. Keep it in mind for your next move!
