FANTASTIC RESULTS IN THE BMC'S VIRTUAL MILE Congratulations to Lucy, Archie, Darcy, Issy, Millie and Molly who all took part in the British Milers' Club's Virtual Mile time trial to celebrate the 66th anniversary of Sir Roger Bannister's sub 4 minute mile. 1200 athletes took part from across the country. Archie finished in a super quick time of 4.52 min, and top female time of 5.42 for Lucy! Well done all.
ARTISTIC LANDSCAPE COLLAGES BY YEAR 9 With the choice of found imagery from magazines, Year 9 students created thought provoking collages expressing a message through the theme of landscape and architecture. Works deal with issues of environmental crisis to the wealth of culture within the city.
YEAR 8 GEOGRAPHERS MAKE WEATHER STATIONS Year 8 Geographers have been busy making their own home weather stations and recording the week's weather from rainfall to cloud cover. Read more on the News page on our website.

SUMMER TERM ACTIVITIES There are over 15 virtual activities on offer this term ranging from Book Club, Italian Club, Coding Club, Mindfulness, Origami and Sugar Craft. 12 pupils from Year 7-9 took part in the first virtual meeting of Rhetoric, the Lower school academic enrichment society. Pupils were challenged with a range of Dingbats to solve and group puzzles followed by discussion of one of the Big Questions from Oxplore, "Would you rather be free than safe?", an apt question given the lockdown situation, but pupils were encouraged to think even more broadly. In our previous Leweston Light we congratulated Ginny for qualifying for the U15 Final of the UIPM Global Laser Home Run on 7 May! A massive well done to her for holding her nerve against the other 5 finalists and achieving an impressive second place!
