WEEKENDSINBOARDING
Bank Holiday Exeat
Exeats in Boarding are an opportunity for the boarders to unwind, spend time with friends and, most importantly, engage in some friendly competition! Exeat activities had a revamp this term with Year 8 boarder, Eduardo, organising the Boarding Olympics. The boarders participated in Golf, Just Dance, Debating and a friendly inter-house tennis competition with the GAPs. Ultimately, there can only be one winner with Antony House taking home the win! Well done Antony and thank you to Eduardo.

Go Ape!
Inflatables

The boarders made the most of the warmer weather by participating in an inflatables session in the school pool. The competitive sides of the boarders came out with many of them racing each other. Aside from a few wipe outs, the boarders had a great time swimming, enjoying each others company and lounging in the sun.
The sun made an appearance for our trip to GoApe! The boarders made the tricky obstacles look like a breeze and overcame their fears. They whizzed through ziplines, ladders, wobbly bridges and some even challenged Miss Baker to take on the Tarzan swing! After a fun filled few hours the ice creams at the end were well deserved.

WEEKENDSINBOARDING
Fishing Caving
The sun came out during the fishing trip While some were initially sceptical, everyone embraced the opportunity. By the end of the day, each person had caught a few fish and enjoyed a fantastic time!

Falconry
Following a busy week filled with trips, residential stays, and exams, our boarders embraced a more laid-back weekend activity of Falconry. They relished their time with magnificent birds and were thrilled to have Mrs Quick, the Director of International Students, join them for the day!
FinalWeekendin
Boarding
The annual caving trip for the boarders was incredibly successful, where many conquered their fears Divided into three groups according to confidence levels, we delved underground. After navigating through tight, dark, and damp spaces for a couple of hours, the boarders emerged, appreciating the sight of the sun once more. Miss Robinson, Miss Baker, and Mr. Ryan-East even participated in the adventure

The last weekend in boarding evokes a range of emotions for many students, especially as international students head home and short-stay students complete their time at Leweston A beloved tradition on the final Saturday is enjoying a classic English afternoon tea along with lawn games The weather was perfect this year, setting the stage for a fantastic afternoon for the entire community To wrap up the year, the boarders engaged in canoeing and axe throwing at Mill on the Brue on the final Sunday, where Mrs Simkins-Smith surprisingly showcased a new talent

Althoughshort,theSummerTermisjampacked!BetweentheYear8Frenchtrip,Year 7residential,GCSE’s,ALevelsandyearlyexams,theboarderswerecertainlybusy.This didn'tstopthemfromgettinginvolvedincountlessboardingactivitiesaswell.
Sports Hall Games
One of the boarders' beloved activities had to relocate this term due to A Levels using the Sports Hall. Consequently, our regular Sports Hall Games contests shifted outdoors. Embracing the brighter evenings and warmer climate, everyone enjoyed numerous rounds of tennis.
Swimming

Wednesday night swims have been a crowd favourite this term with many of our boarders taking a dip after a long day of learning.

Baking Club
Baking club is a new addition to our evergrowing list of activities. Every Friday night a group of boarders get together to cook up a storm with Miss Robinson. Both the boarders and the boarding staff have greatly enjoyed the sweet treat at the end of the week.

Letter Writing Club
The letter writing club resumed activities this term under the guidance of its new leader, Felicity (Year 11). Our international short-stay students, in particular, embraced the club by sending letters to their loved ones back home. Several boarders also found the club to be a relaxed way to revise for their exams.
Gym Sessions
Before the summer term began, the gym received an upgrade. The new equipment has been a hit with the boarders, allowing them to diversify their workouts, and it is now bustling with activity almost every evening.
On Monday nights, Miss Roberts leads a group of girls in a gym session called Ladies Who Lift. This provides a chance to exercise in a supportive and motivating atmosphere, which many of our boarders have taken full advantage of this term.
Rose and Crown Dinner
The annual boarding dinner took place at the Rose and Crown once more this year Boarders and staff had a delightful meal together, followed by an awards ceremony The awards recognised various qualities in our boarders, from kindness and compassion to the messiest dorm! A big thank you to all who contributed to organising the event, arranging transportation, and to the Rose and Crown for hosting

Our Short-Stays!
In the Summer Term, our school hosts numerous short-stay students This year, we welcomed 15 students, both boys and girls, from France and Germany These students have truly embraced their time at Leweston, creating lasting memories and friendships that we hope they will cherish. We appreciate all our short-stay students for enriching the boarding community and look forward to welcoming them back for a visit soon!

Goodbye and Good luck!
As the school year draws to a close we say goodbye to our 2024 leavers. We wish them all the best of luck with their future endeavours and thank them for their contributions to Leweston!
