Penso a progetti
Dr. Mirella Amato, Principal of the Moscati Comprehensive Institute in Pontecagnano, at the Quadrifoglio Summer School Campus promoted by La Manna Formazione What do extracurricular projects such as the English course and the school’s web radio represent for you? They are opportunities in which students, outside the classroom and in new groups, bring out abilities that would otherwise remain hidden. I watch them and imagine them thirty years from now, accomplished professionals: they are our present future, and everything we organize serves to reveal a talent they may not yet have had the chance to discover. I would like to take this opportunity to thank La Manna Formazione for its success.
What is the difference between the headmaster of the past and today’s school principal? The headmaster followed precise ministerial directives, was very present in classes and among teachers, but had limited decision-making margins. Since 2000, with school autonomy, principals manage autonomous institutions: common ministerial guidelines remain, but wide organizational spaces have opened. I am thinking of projects such as the Cambridge pathway to strengthen English, or the new theatre at the Faiano campus, which is also open to the community. What does an inclusive school mean to you? It is my weak spot, in a positive sense. I do not reduce it to the regulatory definition linked to special educational needs: for me it is mutual enrichment, the contact between different abilities that generates extraordinary human quality. It worries me to see, in Europe, a renewed interest in separate schools: in Italy we have been practicing inclusion
for twenty-five years, and it is one of the most positive examples we offer the world. Perfection is an obsession far from human reality: beauty lies in diversity. A recent news event reignited the debate on the educational role of schools in preventing violence. How do you respond to those who ask schools to take on more responsibility? That incident is terrifying. But we are not children of nothing: we are shaped by many elements, from birth onward. We already teach respect systematically; it is society as a whole that must then ensure coherence. I tell students to build antibodies against cruelty starting from themselves: stop, count, reflect before acting. The consequences of anger are always worse than its cause. And one must learn to distinguish one’s expectations from real facts, so as not to place them on others. (The Editorial Team)
Realizzare “Le Voci” significa trasformarli in piccoli reporter: scriveranno articoli, realizzeranno interviste e raccoglieranno testimonianze.
At the Quadrifoglio, an immersive experience combining language, sports, social connection, and creativity. La Manna: "A unique model in Italy"
live it. The Campus at the Quadrifoglio was born from this exact need. Due to its characteristics, I currently consider it a unique experience in Italy: an immersive environment where young people learn the language through activities, sports, socialization, and fun, in direct contact with native-speaking teachers. This is not just a lesson moved outdoors, but a completely different way of doing school. What is the educational value of this initiative? Above all, it is the opportunity to learn without perceiving education as an obligation. The students communicate, play, collaborate, and use English simultaneously. It is an experience that develops independence, relationships, and curiosity. In this sense, it connects perfectly with the international vocation of the Cambridge pathway and the need to offer young people concrete opportunities to use the language. There will also be "Le Voci" (The Voices). Why include a newspaper
inside the Campus? Because we want the students to share what they are experiencing. Creating "Le Voci" means transforming them into young reporters: they will write articles, conduct interviews, and gather testimonials. It will be a workshop for communication, creativity, and active citizenship that will run alongside the language experience. Who deserves credit for believing in this project? First of all, I must thank the school principal, Dr. Mirella Amato, for immediately understanding the value of this initiative. Special thanks also go to the DSGA (Director of General and Administrative Services) Rosa Lembo and the vice-principal Maria Grazia Di Matteo for their availability, collaboration, and attentiveness. Without a school capable of seizing opportunities, projects of this kind could not be realized (The Editorial Team)
Lorenzo La Manna, general director of The English Academy / Cambridge at Parco Arbostella in Salerno, has been committed to the linguistic training sector for years. He envisions a school system that is increasingly open to an international dimension. This path finds an important benchmark in the Cambridge English certifications and in the Summer Campus experience of the Moscati Institute at the Quadrifoglio beach resort in Pontecagnano. Why a summer campus in English? Because today it is not enough to just know English; you have to

A Journey through Fjords, Museums, and Wonder There is a symbol that welcomes visitors as soon as they arrive in Kristiansand: a large tiger, proud and silent, which seems to watch over the city. It is right from here that my journey began to discover Norway, the land of fjords, cold wind, and museums that tell stories as ancient as the sea. Kristiansand, the “City of Tigers” Strolling through Kristiansand is like stepping into an illustrated book: pastel-colored houses, clean streets, the scent of the sea, and that tiger that seems to remind everyone that nature, in Norway, is always the protagonist. The climate is cool, often windy, and even in summer, the air brings a touch of chill that makes everything feel more alive. Bergen: The City of Museums and Wooden Houses The second stop was Bergen, famous for the Bryggen district, with its colorful little wooden houses that look like they came straight out of a Nordic fairy tale. Here, I visited several museums that tell the history of trade, fishermen, and travelers who for centuries crossed the North Sea. “Bergen is a city that smells of rain”, in fact, the climate is often damp, with clouds hanging low over the mountains. But this very atmosphere makes everything more magical: the colors of the houses pop, the harbor looks like a painting, and every museum becomes a warm refuge where you can learn something new. Oslo and the Munch Museum: Where Art Screams and Whispers In Oslo, I visited the famous Munch Museum, dedicated to the painter of "The Scream". Standing in front of the most famous painting in the world, I felt a strange sensation: “It is as if the painting looks at you and asks what truly scares
you.” The museum is modern, bright, and houses not only dramatic works but also delicate landscapes and portraits full of poetry. The Viking Ship Museum: A Leap into the Past Also in Oslo, another unforgettable experience was the visit to the Viking Ship Museum. I got a close look at the enormous wooden vessels with which the Vikings sailed the coldest seas in the world. “They look alive,” I thought, “as if they could set sail again at any moment. The ships, perfectly preserved, tell the story of brave people, accustomed to defying the harsh climate and freezing waters. Walking alongside those ancient structures is like taking a trip back in time. Norway has a unique climate: cool, often rainy, with skies that change color in just a few minutes. Back home, I brought back not only photographs and souvenirs, but above all the feeling of having seen a different world: quieter, more respectful of nature, more attentive to history and art. My trip to Norway has become a story that now enriches our school newspaper, reminding us that every place, even the most distant, can teach us something. All it takes is curious eyes and an open heart. (Delia Adinolfi)

parlano circa 30 lingue diverse.
In Senegal ci sce.
if they were part of the family, and I liked this so much. Another a large plate, because sharing is very important to them. In Senegal, Senegal: A Country Full of Colors, surprising thing is that about 30 different languages are spoken in there are also many craft traditions: women create fabrics with viSenegal. The most widespread is Wolof, but every community has brant designs called wax, and men make carved wooden objects for Music, and Smiles its own language, rhythms, and stories. It is as if the country were decoration. Every color and every shape tells a story, like a book This year at the school camp, we talked about Senegal, a country in West Africa that faces the Atlantic Ocean. It is located right on the west coast of the continent, next to Mauritania, Mali, Guinea, and The Gambia. Its capital is Dakar, a lively city full of markets, music, and scents that tell the story of a people rich in traditions. Senegal fascinated me right away because it is full of colors, music, and beautiful customs. I discovered that it is called "the land of Teranga," a word that means hospitality. The people there welcome guests as
Environment Our planet needs us We are girls who love the Earth, and that is why we want to share what is happening to our planet. In recent years, we have learned that climate change is not something far away: it is here, and we see it every day. Summers are hotter, it rains when it shouldn't, and sometimes the weather seems to have gone "crazy." Scientists say this is happening because the air is getting too warm, and this changes everything: the sea, the mountains, the animals, and us too. The Scorching Mediterranean The Mediterranean is becoming hotter and hotter: in many areas, the sea temperature is 5 to 6 °C above seasonal averages, reaching values close to 30 °C. This warming threatens fish, algae, and corals, encourages invasive species, and increases the risk of violent storms and Mediterranean cyclones. For us young people, this is an important signal: the Mediterranean is one of the places where climate change can be seen the fastest. Observing it, means understanding how our future is changing. Pollution Another huge problem is pollution. When we throw plastic on the ground,
a large mosaic made of words, sounds, and identities living together harmoniously. One of the most important traditions is music. In Senegal, people often play the djembe, a drum that makes the heart vibrate. People dance together during celebrations, and the movements are fast and full of energy. Watching the videos, it seemed to me that everyone was happy, as if music were a way to stay united. The food is also special: the most famous dish is called thieboudienne, made with rice, fish, and vegetables. It is colorful and fragrant. I was struck by the fact that people often eat all together from
leave the lights on for no reason, or use the car too much, the Earth fills up with things it cannot handle. It makes us sad to see fish swimming among bottles, birds mistaking trash for food, and trees being cut down without a second thought. Climate Change In recent years, our planet has been changing rapidly. The main cause is the excess of greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, which build up in the atmosphere due to factories, cars, wildfires, and wasted energy. These gases trap heat and make the Earth hotter and hotter. We all see the effects: melting glaciers, warmer seas, animals struggling to survive, and cities facing record temperatures. But it is not all negative: we can still do a lot. We kids can also contribute with small gestures: recycling, using less plastic, turning off unnecessary lights, walking or cycling, and respecting nature. Climate change is a big challenge, but the future also depends on what we do every day. A healthier planet starts with us, and we believe we can make a difference by reminding adults that the Earth is not infinite. It is our home, and we must take good care of it. We dream of a world where the sky is always clean, the sea is blue, and animals live peacefully. And we know that this world can exist if everyone does their part. Because, as we always say among ourselves: "The Earth doesn't belong to just someone, it belongs to everyone." (Gioia Buscema - Rosa Vitolo - Daniela Vivone)
without words. I found out that there are very popular festivals, like the Magal of Touba, where millions of people gather to pray and be together. And then there are the Senegalese wrestling matches, a traditional sport that is a mix of strength, respect, and ancient rituals. Senegal taught me that culture is not just what you see, but what you feel: the kindness of the people, the desire to share, and the music that unites. I would love to visit it one day, to see up close those smiles that seem to say: "Welcome, this is your home." (Aurora D’Alessio)

Nature as a teacher: commentary on the poem “verses in freedom” from teacher Gaetana Ruggiero This poem tells the story of summer through two special places: the sea and the mountain. The author, with a young and curious gaze, describes what he sees and what he feels, transforming every image into an emotion. In the first part, the “sea” is not just a landscape: it becomes a friend, a companion for games and thoughts. The “seashells”, “starfish”, and “seaweed” are not simple natural elements, but become small pieces of magic: “lights”, “green hair”, “secret cities”. The sea refreshes, protects, comforts. The waves that arrive teach that everything changes, that nothing stays still: it is a simple but profound life lesson. Then the poem moves to the mountain, a different but equally fascinating place. The caves "that smell of mystery" and the rare stones become symbols of adventure, research, and wonder. The mountain is a world to explore, where every step can reveal a treasure hidden from those who know how to observe with attention. In the last part, the poet tells of the waiting for summer: a desired time, which brings rest, freedom, and happiness. Summer is not just a season: it is a moment in which the world seems larger and richer, capable of offering many different ways to be happy. The message of the poem invites us to look at nature with new eyes: the sea teaches us movement and change, the mountain teaches us discovery and courage, summer teaches us freedom. It is a text that combines imagination and growth, perfect for young people who are learning to know the world and also a bit of themselves.

crescita.
playing football mean to you? Kaotar Sadik, 14 years It’sWhata does team sport where you have to give your all. Fair play and respect for your opponent are old and a dream called important. Even when there are unfair situations, you have to recognize them and respect Roma the rules.
At just 14 years old, she is one of the young prospects of Picentia and for several years has been observed by Roma, with whom she periodically trains and attends development camps. A story that began almost by chance, in the square with her cousins, and has grown through commitment, sacrifice, and passion. How did your passion for football begin? It started when I was little. I used to go to t h e square and play with my cousins. At first I wasn’t very good—I didn’t really know how to play. Then I joined a football team, following my brother, and within three years I managed to become the team captain. A great transformation. When did the opportunity to train with Roma come? It happened in my second year, when I had improved a lot. There were several girls in our club, but another teammate, Arianna Salamone, and I were called to Roma. The coach surprised me and told me I would take part in a training camp with Roma. It was a huge emotion. What position do you play now? At the beginning I played as a full-back, then the coach, seeing that I had good technique, could dribble, and was agile and fast, decided to try me in midfield. From that moment on, I became a mezzala (box-to-box midfielder).
How challenging is it to balance training and school? I train practically all week. There are many commitments between training sessions and matches. But even though football is very important to me, school always comes first. Does Roma continue to follow you? Yes. We periodically have training sessions and they give us feedback. They continue to follow me and evaluate my progress. If at 14 I can maintain this physical and technical level, I may have the opportunity to be selected. Do you really see a future as a footballer? Yes, that’s what I want. I imagine my future in football. I know it will be difficult and that I’ll have to keep training and improving, but it’s my goal. And how does your family experience this journey? My parents are happy and support me. My brother also plays and is very good—he has been called by several teams and even had a trial with Salernitana. So in our family, football is a shared passion. Which trip do you remember most fondly? The one to Perugia, where I went for a four-day tournament. These are experiences that help me grow, not only as a footballer but also as a person. Is there a formation you prefer? In 11-a-side football I like the 4-3-3, and I always play as a mezzala. Our coach teaches us tactics during training, but in matches he gives us freedom. We shouldn’t play mechanically: we try what we’ve prepared, but we can also express ourselves freely. What is your dream? To keep improving, reach higher and higher levels, and one day become a professional footballer—without forgetting that, first and foremost, school comes first. (The Editorial Team)

A day awaited by both adults and children, capable of bringing together different generations under the sign of healthy com-

From the relay race to traditional games, from precision challenges to team competitions, every moment was accompanied by applause, encouragement, and warm cheering that made the atmosphere electric and familiar at the same time. What makes the Palio special is not only the competitions, but the way in which Faiano manages to rediscover itself as a community: families reuniting, children discovering the joy of participation, volunteers working behind the scenes to ensure safety and organization, and elderly people telling how "once upon a time" the Palio was already the beating heart of the town.

There was no shortage of symbolic moments: the presentation of awards to the teams, embraces between competitors from different hamlets, the joy of the winners, and the sporting smile of those who participated just for the pleasure of being there. The Palio delle Frazioni is in fact much more than a race: it is a way to remember that the identity of a territory is also built through its festivals, its rituals, and the ability to share emotions. The day ended with a festive atmosphere, amidst music, chats, and the promise to meet again next year, even more numerous and even more united. In Faiano, the Palio is not just an event: it is a story that continues to grow, carried forward by those who love their town and believe in the value of participation.
Alberi e l’Istituto Comprensivo Moscati.

The initiative takes shape thanks to a formal agreement between three key local organizations: the Fondazione La Città del Futuro, the Saremo Alberi Social Cooperative, and the Moscati Comprehensive Institute. Above all, they spoke about the real school, the one they walk through daily: the challenges, the expectations, and the ideas they have to improve it. The result is a collective podcast that offers a sincere and direct look at school life, a narrative that does not shy away from what often remains between the lines.

Maybe you have seen it in a movie, with people hitting a small white ball and making it fly very far away. But golf is much more than that, and it is a sport that deserves to be discovered by us kids as well. Golf is played in the open air, on large green courses full of trees, ponds, and small bridges. It is a sport that does not require speed, but concentration, patience, and precision. The goal is simple: get the ball into a hole using the fewest number of strokes possible. It sounds easy, but every hole is different and hides small challenges: uphill, downhill, high grass, water hazards, and
silence and in the middle of nature. Others, however, find it exciting because every shot is a small adventure: you never know where the ball will end up, and you can always improve a little bit. Golf is also a sport that teaches good manners, respect, and self-control. You learn not to disturb the other players, to respect the course, and not to get angry if a shot goes wrong. In addition, when the ball finally goes into the hole... the satisfaction is enormous. Who knows, maybe one day one of us will become a champion. But even without making it to competitions, golf can be a beautiful way to stay outdoors, get moving, have fun, and discover a new way to play. In short, if you are looking for a sport that is different from the usual, combining calmness and adventure, golf could be the next one to try.
