COLUMN PROJECT Revit • Rhinoceros 3D • Illustrator • Photoshop • Enscape

1

This purpose of this project was to experiment with columns designed by famous architects. I was given the columns designed by Le Corbusier at the Palace of Assembly in Chandigarh. I experimented with the design by using circulation, space, and tectonics. I created vast openings and staircases that spreads throughout the space. I was greatly inspired by the five points of architecture by Le Corbusier and the principles on proportions by Marcus Vitruvius. The image above, shows an interior render of my design that I created with Rhinoceros 3D and Photoshop in post. The following pages contain numerous projection views and various different perspectives.

These are both axonometric projections of my design. The top portion is a sectional cut with red dashed lines. I wanted to present the viewer with axonometric projections because it vividly shows the space throughout my design. I created the diagrams with rhinoceros 3D and adobe illustrator. I wanted to contrast the exterior facade with the axonometric section, in order to provide a clear presentation of my design; that showcases all the floors, stairs, and openings. Viewers can fully understand how the circulation begins at ground level and extends all the way to the roof.

The following drawings include: one point perspective section, floor plans, exploded axonometric, and development concept diagrams. The columns, which were the designed by famous architect Le Corbusier, were the basis of this entire design. I kept in mind the ideas of Le Corbusier during the design process, which incorporated the five points of new architecture. Lastly, I included mathematical proportions, that I used for creating my design.

ASU SITE ANALYSIS Grasshopper 3D • Rhinoceros 3D • Illustrator • Photoshop • Enscape

I created these maps using grasshopper 3D, a parametric visual programming plugin for rhinoceros 3D. I collected online data with Nasa and Openstreetmaps. I did site analysis on ASU campus with a GIS plugin I found for grasshopper 3D. I separated with color all the major streets, that include the following: primary, secondary, tertiary, foot-way, pathway, and service. In the image above, the right side shows all the buildings located on ASU campus that include: apartments, dormitories, classroom, libraries, etc. The next page shows the buildings elevated in 3D with two buildings that are highlighted in red. The buildings that are highlighted in red are Dixie Gammage Hall with West Hall and Manaznita Hall. The maps gives great detail on circulatory routes which extend all throughout ASU and the city of Tempe. The elevated 3D model of the buildings, provide a clear visualization of the numerous buildings, along with the various passageways that encompass the campus. The final page shows the topography that is in the city of Tempe. The data information was provided with NASA. The topography on the top is colored in red, orange, and blue. These colors are based in height. The highest elevation is in red and the lowest is in blue. The bottom image is a top view illustration of the topographic contour lines in the city of Tempe, Arizona. 20 20
