15-20 participants Printed handouts with facts about the Earth Handouts are given to the participants - an infographic with data on planet Earth. The facilitator asks the participants what they think of it, if they are familiar with the data and how much trust they have in it. Then the participants are asked to get their phones out and see who manages to validate (or NOT!) information contained into the infographic. The facilitator times the participants. It is a challenging activity that makes them compete to get as many answers as possible in as little time as possible. What did you think? How do we think and how do we understand the information? How do we interpret it? How did you feel about doing research on the presented facts? Mathematical competences: Reflect on how numbers and hard data can be misleading and/or false and develop skills to check them.
