La città della poesia Broadacre city. La Ville Radieuse. Le prefigurazioni di città future si fermano agli anni settanta. Plug-in city. New Babylon. Instant city. No-stop city. Scenari e provocazioni attraversati tutti da un anelito ad “andare” verso il futuro. Mi faccio la domanda: perché oggi nessuno guarda con la stessa energia al futuro? C’è una riflessione di Alessandro Baricco, dice che il futuro è finito. Più o meno che il futuro viene considerato come una grande discarica dove depositare tutti i problemi che non riusciamo a risolvere. Dallo smaltimento dei rifiuti o delle scorie ai dolori dell’economia. “Andiamo avanti e poi ci pensiamo”. Più o meno funziona così.

Solo che la discarica-futuro si è riempita e tracima verso il presente avvelenandolo. Anzi, rendendolo invivibile.

Ecco l’impossibilità di fare progetti futuri. Al massimo smart-city. O città di baratto.

Allora ho pensato alla poesia. L’unica cosa che tiene dentro il passato il presente e il futuro. Non mescolati, ma proprio tutt’uno. Sono la stessa cosa. Quindi sono qui ed ora. La poesia ce lo fa vedere. È come quando uno di noi si mette davanti al mare e al massimo riesce a dire tre parole sensate. Montale davanti allo stesso mare tira fuori poesie indimenticabili. Chi è più dentro la realtà? E poi dicono che i poeti hanno la testa tra le nuvole. “Soltanto poeticamente l’uomo abita davvero questa terra”. [O. Elitis] La poesia trasforma la realtà. Crea realtà. Unica. Altro non è che proiezione di sé. Quello che ci vuole per trasformare le città che viviamo. O fondarle.

Che è la stessa cosa.

Scenarios and provocations, all pervaded by a yearning to “go” towards the future. I wonder: why does nobody gaze so energetically into the future today? In a reflection by Alessandro Baricco, he says the future is finished. More or less that the future is seen as a big rubbish dump, in which to dispose of all the problems we can’t solve. From refuse or dross disposal to the woes of the economy.

“We’ll move on and think about it later”. That’s how It works, more or less. Except that the rubbish dumpfuture has filled up and is overflowing into the present, poisoning it. Indeed making it uninhabitable. Hence the impossibility of designing future projects. At the most a smart-city. Or swindle-city.

And so I thought of poetry. The only thing that can incorporate past present and future. Not mixed, but all together. They are the same thing. So they are here and now. Poetry shows this. As when one of us stands in front of the sea and at the most manages to make a few sensible remarks. Montale, in front of that same sea conjures up unforgettable poems. Who is the deepest into reality? And to think that poets are said to have their heads in the clouds. “Only poetically does man really inhabit this earth”. [O.Elitis] Poetry transforms reality. Creates reality. Unique. It is simply its own projection. What it takes to transform the cities we live in. Or to found them.

Which is the same thing.

La città della poesia è utopia e realtà al tempo stesso.

Certamente una cosa concreta. Ogni uomo può attraversarla e viverla. In ogni uomo che sia vigile la città della poesia fa nascere il seme della costruzione. Nuovi pensieri. Nuovi stili di vita. Così si “realizza” la città della poesia. È un pensiero e un sentimento. Ogni uomo è poeta. Un po’. La città della poesia è ovunque.

The poetic city is at once utopia and reality. Certainly a concrete thing. Everybody can go through and experience it. In every vigilant person the poetic city sows the seed of construction. New thoughts. New lifestyles. That’s how the poetic city is “realised”: a thought and a feeling. Everybody is a poet. To some extent. The poetic city is everywhere.

Un campionario di aggregazioni senza regola né rispetto per il tracciato altimetrico della città. Cielo sottratto.

La città della poesia riscopre il cielo. Progetta la linea di contatto. Di più. La città della poesia percorre il cielo.

Freno al consumo dei suoli È ovvio La città della poesia mette in relazione Le persone e le cose [edifici, spazi, flussi] si riconoscono nelle relazioni. La città della poesia illumina le identità.

La città della poesia mette in relazione i tempi La notte. Il giorno. Le stagioni. Le piogge e le nevi.

I venti e il sole. La dinamica vitale della città della poesia si colora e colora il mondo.

I colori della città della poesia Come le installazioni di Dan Flavin. Sei tu che entri nella massa del colore. Solida e vaporosa allo stesso tempo. Ne respiri libero [Allen Ginsberg: (…) respiro, io voglio respirare libero] ogni particella. Sei tu stesso il colore. Nella città della poesia sei TU che fai ogni cosa.

Niente è esterno.

Sky consumption curbed The poetic city does NOT consume sky. The skylines of our cities are soiled by abuse of their rooftops. Outsized attics, raised penthouses, closed roof terraces.

The poetic city’s colours Like Dan Flavin’s installations. It is you that enter the mass of colour. Solid yet vaporous. You breathe it freely (Allen Ginsberg: (…) I breathe, I want to breathe every particle freely]. You yourself are colour. In the poetic city it is YOU that does everything. Nothing is external.
