Hockey celebrities making appearances at the EXPO Amanda Kessel – Amanda Kessel is a member of the 2018 USA Olympic Women’s team that took gold in PyeongChang when they defeated Canada in the gold medal game 3-2 in a shootout. Kessel scored one of the biggest goals in USA Women’s Olympic history when she netted a goal in the fourth round of the shootout, setting the stage for Jocelyn Lamoureux’s goal and Maddie Rooney’s save to seal the gold medal victory. Kessel will appear at the GELSTX booth from noon-3 p.m. on Saturday.

Bill Baker – Baker was a defenseman for the 1980 Miracle On ice USA Olympic Hockey team. Baker grew up in Grand Rapids where he starred for the high school team before playing four years at the University of Minnesota He would go on to play 143 games in the NHL. He will be signing autographs at the Herb Brooks Foundation booth at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Bill Butters – Butters is a longtime former Gopher player and coach who also played professionally. He now runs Hockey Ministries International and will have a booth at the Expo.

Bill Goldsworthy Family – Goldsworthy is one of the most popular North Stars in history who passed away at age 51 in 1996. During the 1973-74 season with the North Stars he scored 48 goals, a career high. He went on to serve as captain of the North Stars for two seasons. His son Sean is the current coach for top-ranked Minnetonka. Members of Goldsworthy’s family will be making an appearance in the Vintage Minnesota Hockey Retro Lounge.

Brad Maxwell – Brad is one of the top defensemen to ever don a North Stars jersey, having played nine seasons with the club. During the 1983-84 season he scored 19 goals and had 54 assists for 73 points in 78 games, numbers unheard of for a defensemen. Maxwell will be making an appearance in the Vintage Minnesota Hockey Retro Lounge.

Dan Brooks – The son of legendary Miracle on Ice coach Herb Brooks, Dan plays an integral role in the Herb Brooks Foundation and will be on hand Friday at 11 a.m. at the Herb Brooks Foundation booth.

Hanson Brothers – The real-life hockey players whose sensitive performances as the Hanson Brothers helped make Slap Shot one of the top sports films of all time. Jeff Carlson, Steve Carlson and Dave Hanson are those real life hockey players who were the unsung stars of the movie. They were famous for putting on the foil and playing Old Time Hockey. The Hanson Brothers will be at the Nice Rink booth Saturday from 10:30-4:30.

Henry Boucha – According to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame, Henry Boucha has been labeled as the most electrifying player in Minnesota hockey history. The former Warroad star went on to play for the Minnesota North Stars where in his third NHL season his career was cut short due to an eye injury. He was forced to retire at age 24. Boucha will be appearing at the Vintage Minnesota Hockey Retro Lounge.

Jack Carlson – This former North Star was known more for his hard-hitting style of play than scoring goals, and that was just fine with North Star fans. Carlson is one of three hockey-playing brothers who played professionally. Jack played in the WHL for the Minnesota Fighting Saints before heading to the NHL where he played in 236 games over six seasons. He is currently a referee in the Twin Cities and will appear in the Vintage Minnesota Hockey Retro Lounge.

Joe Dziedzic – Dziedzic was named Mr. Hockey in 1990 and went on to play four seasons at the University of Minnesota. He would later play in the NHL for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He now coaches and runs a hockey training program. He will appear in the Herb Brooks Foundation booth.

Justin Johnson – former Blaine High School standout, Johnson went on to play on the 2002 and 2003 University of Minnesota National Champion teams. He is currently director of M.E.G.A Goaltending and will be running an interactive booth at the entrance to the Expo.

Lance Pitlick – Pitlick played his high school hockey at Robbinsdale Armstrong before heading to the University of Minnesota where he starred for the Golden Gophers as a stay at home defenseman. His blueline skills earned him a leap to the NHL where he played parts of eight seasons. Pitlick will be at the Scott Bjugstad Shooting School booth.

Lou Nanne – Lou is serving his 54th year providing commentary for the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. The legendary North Star is synonymous with Minnesota Hockey. Nanne will be making an appearance in the Vintage Minnesota Hockey Retro Lounge.

Mark Parrish – The former Bloomington Jefferson star who went on to play collegiately at St. Cloud State University, Parrish went on to have six 20-goal seasons in the NHL and played in more than 700 games. He is now a high school coach at Orono. He will be appearing at the Herb Brooks Foundation booth with Cities 97 DJ Paul Fletcher at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Mike Ramsey – Ramsey was a defenseman on the Miracle On Ice 1980 USA Olympic gold medal team. Ramsey was a standout at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis and eventually played 1,070 games in the NHL. He served as an assistant coach for the Minnesota Wild from 2001 until 2010 and was inducted into the US Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001. He will be signing autographs at the Herb Brooks Foundation booth on Friday at 10a.m.

Olly Postanin and Jacob Ardown – Olly is a smooth shot with mad skills, adorned in well-loved cowboy boots, torn jeans and killer hockey flow. Jacob sports a snazzy red hat, stylin’ plaid vest (that’s all class) and has a snappy bardown shot that is unequalled on the rink. These On the Bench boys are social media sensations and will be at the EXPO throughout the weekend and are inviting players to a “Top Corn Chally.”

Pat Micheletti – Another Minnesota hockey legend, Pat Micheletti grew up in Hibbing where he became a high school hockey sensation. From there he went on to lead the Golden Gophers at the University of Minnesota and eventually was drafted and played in 12 NHL games with the North Stars. Micheletti will appear in the Vintage Minnesota Hockey Retro Lounge.

Patrick O’Brien Demsey – Demsey is known for playing Mike Eruzione in the film Miracle, which depicted the 1980 USA Olympic team that shocked the world when they defeated the Russians for the Gold Medal.

Demsey will be joined by fellow actor Pete Duffy, who played Bob Suter in the film. They will be at the Integral Hockey booth.

Paul Broten – One third of the best trio of brothers to come out of Minnesota, Paul Broten is the youngest of the Broten brothers from Roseau (Neal and Aaron). The former Gopher played seven seasons in the NHL for the Rangers, Stars and Blues. He will appear at the Vintage Minnesota Hockey Retro Lounge.

Pavel Barber – Pavel is a stickhandling specialist who can dangle like no other. His YouTube videos have garnered millions of views. Barber will appear with Floorball Plus and Hockey Revolution by the floorball court.

Ryan Carter – Carter played 473 games in the NHL, including a stint for the Minnesota Wild. He played his college hockey at Minnesota State-Mankato. He will be on hand Friday at 11 a.m. at the Herb Brooks Foundation booth.

Scott Bjugstad – Former Irondale High School, Golden Gopher and Minnesota North Star Scott Bjugstad now runs his own shooting school in the Twin Cities. Bjugstad helped form one of the most productive offensive lines in North Stars history with fellow Minnesotan Neal Broten and Dino Ciccarelli in 1985-86. Bjugstad scored 43 goals that season as Broten became the firs U.S.-born player to score 100 points in a season. Visit Scott at his booth for Scott Bjugstad Shooting School.

Tom Chorske – Chorske is the inaugural Mr. Hockey winner, having won the first award in 1985.

After a stellar career at the University of Minnesota, Chorske went on to play parts of 11 seasons in the NHL, playing in almost 600 games. He is currently an analyst for Fox Sports North.

Tom Pederson – Pederson was a star player for Bloomington Jefferson in the late 80s, helping lead them to the state tournament. He would go on to play at the University of Minnesota and after being drafted by the North Stars would eventually land in the NHL where he played in 240 games. He now owns and operates GreenBiscuit, hockey’s best off-ice training puck. Visit him at his booth near the entrance.

Trent Klatt – Trent Klatt is one of the best hockey players to come out of the state of Minnesota. The Mr. Hockey winner in 1989 went on to an illustrious career at the University of Minnesota before enjoying a successful career in the NHL where he played for the North Stars, Flyers and Canucks and racked up 143 goals and 343 points. But he wasn’t done.

Last season, as head coach, he led Grand Rapids to the Class AA state championship. He will appear in the Vintage Minnesota Retro Hockey Lounge. *Times of appearances are subject to change.
