J anice P ye For Janice, collecting Barbie dolls was not simply a hobby, but a passion.

Over the course of 25 years, she acquired an impeccably curated collection, ranging from one of a kind dolls to platinum label creations. Modern Barbie: Property from the Collection of Janice Pye is the reflection of a deep dedication to developing an encyclopedic collection of Barbie dolls.

On an annual basis, Janice traveled to National Barbie Doll Collectors and Grant-A-Wish Fund Conventions. She became a pivotal figure within the Barbie community, often serving as table host and always as friend and consultant to Barbie enthusiasts everywhere. Janice even traveled internationally to acquire Barbie’s newest couture garments and to meet the designers.

Janice spent countless hours curating and preserving her illustrious collection. She commissioned her husband to construct an entire floor of custom shelving in their home to provide the proper storage, maintenance and cataloging conditions.

Janice Pye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Modern Barbie: Property from the Collection of Janice Pye will be sold to benefit her grandchildren’s college fund.

BIDDING WITH LESLIE HINDMAN AUCTIONEERS ON BIDSQUARE: Modern Barbie: Property from the Collection of Janice Pye, Zion, Illinois will be held as a timed online only auction and will be hosted on Bidsquare.com. A timed online only auction is automated and takes place solely online. The bidding for each lot is opened at a predetermined amount/starting bid set by the auctioneer, usually at a set time and stays open over an extended period of hours or days. During this period of open bidding one will be able to see the current high bid on each lot. You may place a higher bid at a defined bidding increment you choose.

In timed only online auctions bidders are automatically informed by email if they are the high bidder, or if they have been outbid by another competing bidder. At the end of the defined bidding period, if the highest bid offered meets the minimum price designated by the seller as acceptable, the lot is sold. Bidding on all lots in a timed online only sale begins to close at a specified time, with lots closing at regular intervals until the auction has ended. Some timed auctions allow extended bidding. In such a case, if a bid is placed on a lot within a specified time before closing, the bidding may automatically be extended for a set period of time. Length of extended bidding is set by the Auctioneer prior to the opening of the auction.
